I have found the care home to be homely, warm and friendly.
The staff are the same, caring, considerate, professional and approachable.
Car parking can be a real issue both in and outside of the home area.
The resident seems to be relatively happy there; obviously, they would rather be at home,
but are in a safe, caring environment.

Thank you for your kind words about our staff and the home. We take pride to hear that you find the team caring and friendly- it really means a lot to us to know that your experience has been positive. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the parking. We understand that finding a space can be difficult and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Due to the layout and location of the home, we unfortunately do not have capacity to expand our car park. However, we do encourage visitors to make use of nearby on street parking and to consider coming at times of the day when the car park is less busy. Our team are always happy to advise on suitable visiting times or nearby parking options. Your visits and feedback are very important to us, and we truly appreciate your understanding.

Willowbrook House is a wonderful care home, clean and well decorated and well laid out for residents and families to enjoy their time at the home. Since Mum arrived at the home she has been very well cared for, all staff are so kind and caring and it has helped both Mum and Dad (who visits everyday)
to settle into the home. Staff are patient and understanding and do their utmost to keep them both happy.

Food at the home is of a very high standard and Mum's room is exceptional with an ensuite bathroom which makes looking after her needs so much easier. The activities during the day are numerous and varied which help to make Mum's time at the home so much easier. The garden and lounge areas are great, the garden in particular is safe and sheltered and provides somewhere different to sit at all times of the day. We were very concerned when Mum entered the home, but we shouldn't have worried as she is so well looked after. Thanks to all the staff at Willowbrook.

Providing a warm, homely environment where residents and their families feel at ease is at the heart of everything we do, thus hearing a very positive feedback like this validates our motto 'Care is in our nature'. We understand that initial concerns of moving into a care home and are delighted that your experience has reassured you that your mother is well looked after. It means a great deal to us to also know that families feel welcome and supported.

I have found since my wife has been a resident that the standard of care is exemplary. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them. In addition to this the programme of activities is excellent and of the highest standard. I would have no hesitation in recommending
this home to anyone who is interested. It is always kept spotlessly clean, and I find it a privilege to go there.

My Brother was discharged to Willowbrook House after 6 months in hospital at the start of the pandemic - I was, therefore, unable to visit him for a considerable time. He has mental health issues and I was concerned how he would settle in. I spoke to the staff and my brother regularly and once I was
able to visit, under strict COVID guidelines, I was firstly impressed by the care and attention he received, he obviously loved it there. Secondly, I was really impressed with the home as a whole, there was no nasty smells normally associated with care homes and the place was spotless and well presented. All the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. They have a wonderful well kept garden and a team of dedicated activities coordinators to keep them stimulated. I can't praise all the staff enough.

From our initial enquiries to the moment mum entered the home following a hospital discharge, we have been welcomed by friendly, professional, knowledgeable and caring staff at all times. Although mum has advanced Alzheimer’s and is now wheelchair-bound, she has a much-improved quality of life. She
has settled so well, responds to her carers and nurses, with a smile and feels reassured by the genuine kind and exemplary care she receives both day and night. Dad also in his 80s, visits daily and although not a resident, is also cared for while there and always made welcome. The home is bright, modern, smells fresh. All the residents are showered regularly and kept clean and well-groomed. The day rooms and gardens are beautiful. Regular and varied activities are organised by an energetic dedicated duo to entertain residents and visitors. Management and nurses always on hand and vigilant.

In 18 months mum has been at home, there has been constant upgrading eg
designated coffee room with coffee machine for residents and family get-togethers, major repairing of the quadrangle to improve accessibility for residents going outside in the sun and bedroom refurbished.
All staff are friendly
and create a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors - they have done their best to create a homely environment. Mum's sisters often say that if they need to go into a home, let it be Willowbrook.

My mother has been a resident at Willowbrook House for the last four and a half years. The care she receives is exemplary. The building is clean and fresh, the reception is welcoming. The carers are always friendly to me and caring and compassionate towards my mother. I feel as though we are amongst
friends when we visit, and that Mum is a personal friend of the carers and nurses, as well as a person in need of dementia care.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.549)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.549) out of 10 for Willowbrook House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.676 for Willowbrook House is calculated as follows: ( (48 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.676
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.873 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willowbrook House is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 110 registered maximum number of service users is 22. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 22 = 0.273
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
