Park Avenue provides people with the right support, which assists them in developing coping techniques, which make a noticeable difference to their everyday lives. Staff understand the importance of providing person-centred support which enables independence and meets individual’s specific needs. Through their outcomes-focused approach, they support people to maintain choice and control of their own lives.
Park Avenue work's with people help them to achieve their goals through supporting individuals to access training, volunteering and employment opportunities. Individuals are supported to engage in their local community and to learn and practice new skills in a supported environment.
Park Avenue has four en-suite bedrooms within the main house, with spacious communal areas, made up of a lounge, dinning room, kitchen and communal bathroom. Externally there is a new self-contained one bedroom bungalow, with its own kitchen and en-suite facilities. The bungalow offers an internal pathway for self-development and maximum personal growth. The Bungalow provides a private space for staff to enable skill development or coaching sessions. People can trial independence in a setting which has 24-hour staffing available, to assist with development of their life skills. The Bungalow at Park Avenue enables people who want to live more independently, take those first steps to greater independence within a safe, risk managed environment.
Park Avenue is conveniently located immediately off the M4, junction 44, Neath. The home has many local amenities nearby, where people can acquire groceries, have meals out, easily access public transport routes and enjoy various other forms of leisure and recreation typical of a busy shopping district. Access to Swansea City centre takes approximately 15 minutes by bus, and the Gower Peninsula is less than 45 minutes away.
