The Home provides full-time personal residential care for the elderly and also respite and day care.
Mayflower Care Home is located in a beautiful part of the country and residents enjoy panoramic views to the surrounding countryside yet the Home is within easy reach of such towns as Swansea (less than 5 miles) and Neath (less than 5 miles). Therefore clients can enjoy the peaceful and tranquil setting but still be in close proximity to family and loved ones.
The main focus is on providing care for the residents based on their individual needs and to provide them with as much choice as possible. You can be fully assured that the residents receive the best care possible as all care assistants are trained in-house, not only to comply with the required national standards, but to the Home's own exacting standards.
Residents can enjoy a wide variety of activities with the Homes in house activities co-ordinator. There is also a bespoke Salon area that has recently been installed as well as providing a range of beauty treatments. The Home also has an internet and library area where residents are free to contact loved ones or to have a quiet moment to themselves whilst reading a good book! Residents can also enjoy the newly refurbished garden area, cinema room, café and pub!

After recently visiting my bampa who has been a resident here for some time, it's always lovely and wholesome to see how happy and content he is there! He always speaks very highly of the staff and they are always welcoming every time I visit.

This was my first time visiting my Grandfather at Mayflower and I have to say, the level of care and attention given is second to none. The room my grandfather has the pleasure of calling his home was immaculately kept, the lounge area was bright and full of chatter and entertainment (there was a bit of Elvis going on when I was there which was a great touch for me as he is my granfathers favourite singer!). My Grandfather told me how lovely all of the Care assistants are and how nothing is too much trouble for them. He even likes the food and that surprised me, as whenever we went out for meals before his residence at Mayflower, he always found something to moan about! I cannot recommend Mayflower Care Home highly enough for anyone looking for somewhere for a loved one to get that little bit of extra day to day care with dignity.

The gentleman I went to see was good to my mam years ago he looked extremely well clean happy and just full of smiles. The home had very high standards of hygiene which was pleasing to see and very reassuring given the current climate, and the laughter coming from the lounges was just so nice to hear I visited feeling a little anxious but come away more than happy with the care the gentleman is getting.

Mum has been a resident at the Mayflower since December 2019. During the three months prior to the pandemic as a family, we were always greeted with kindness. Mum was very happy during these three months and could not speak highly enough of the staff, room etc. Since March 2020 and the pandemic, the care to my mum has been of the highest. We have been able to chat with her on the telephone and lately, visits. During the last year, Mum's health has deteriorated, but as a family, we feel that she has and continues to be in very safe hands with the staff of the Mayflower.

I understand that you may have reservations about your loved one going into a Care Home at this time, especially with the recent Pandemic. However, the sector has come a really long way over the last 18 months and we are in a much stronger position now and have a lot of protocol in place to keep our amazing residents happy and safe. All of our staff have been double vaccinated and we have weekly Covid testing in place where our staff carry out two LFD tests and one PCR test (Covid tests), every week. Daily temperature checks and screening questionnaires are also in place and we only allow essential visits to the Home (such as District Nurses, GP’s and other visiting professionals). All visitors have to undergo a Covid test as well as temperature checks and screening questions.
We are working very closely with the local council and Public Health Wales and we believe that we now have a very safe and happy Home for our residents.
