I often visit my friend in Galahill, the home Manager and staff are all very welcoming and approachable. They always make time to have a chat and offer of a coffee.
My friend always appears happy and well presented.
At times there are activities in the sitting area all the residents seem to be enjoying themselves.
I have used the facilities and they always appear to be well maintained. Also visited my friend in their room which is clean, bright and welcoming. It's nice to see personal touches around the room.

The staff are always happy to help with anything and seem to be happy within their job.

My mother was transferred to Galahill House in 2022 after suffering a stroke. She has been well looked after and treated with kindness and respect. The care home staff promptly report any change in her condition. He room is a bit "tired" and could benefit from new blinds and curtains.

I have lived here for two years and nine months and am reasonably well looked after. I am unable to participate in activities as I have suffered a stroke and can only use one hand.

My Mother has been a resident at Galahill House for almost a year now. When she moved in she was a scared and helpless woman who suffered dreadful dreadful tension headaches brought on by anxiety. Since then she has come back to life again - she feels safe and confident and the headaches have completely disappeared. I attribute this to the excellent care staff who treat her as an individual they are clearly fond of and teat with dignity and respect at all times. They put their sound values into action and maintain high standards which is not always easy ( I speak as a former Care Home Manager myself ). They are very good at helping her make informed choices in a way that is meaningful and pitched at an appropriate level for her. My Mum is thriving now and, having seen the way other residents with more advanced dementia are cared for, I feel great comfort in knowing that she will always receive superb care as her needs change. I would confidently recommend Galahill House to anyone.

Overall good. Food could be improved given the fees that are charged.

Activities seem to be irregular. I don't think there is an activity-focused member of staff at present. Certainly nothing taking place at the moment.

Overall Experience

My mum has now resided in Galahill House for nine months. During that time my views have remained the same. I may add that the continual dedication and tender loving person-centred care from all staff are outstanding. There are also various daily activities that the residents can participate in if they wish, from dominoes to singing and light seated exercise in the comfort of the delightful, newly refurbished lounge. There is also a fabulous new coffee area with lovely comfy seating for you and your loved one to have a coffee/tea and a chat. So would just like to thank all the staff members across the board - give yourselves a good pat on the back. You are doing an awesome job.
