We have nothing but good things to say about Finavon. From our first initial visit, it was clear to see that staff have very positive and respectful relationships with residents. Since moving in, Mum has been well cared for, which is evident in her appearance and her demeanour. It's clear for us to
see that she feels comfortable and happy, which is a huge relief for us after what has been a very stressful time.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Finavon CourtThank you for your kind words about Finavon Court. It means a great deal to know that you felt the positive and respectful relationships from your very first visit.

We see every day how important it is for residents to feel comfortable and settled, so it's reassuring to hear that your mum's wellbeing, appearance and happiness are reflecting this. We also understand how stressful this transition can be for families, and we're glad we've been able to provide some peace of mind during that time.

Your feedback is truly appreciated by the whole team.

I've been visiting this care home for over 2 years now on a weekly basis to take my friend out locally for a cup of tea and a wee stroll.
I tend to phone the home first and check it is ok for me to visit my friend (of over 40 years) and the staff, who are incredibly courteous to me, advise if my friend
has a gp appointment, too tired to see me or other. However I think we have only missed 3 visits due to my friend not keeping well that day.
Occasionally if he is too tired then the staff make a sitting room available and provide us both with a tea or coffee or water which is very kind of them.
The care home itself is always clean and tidy, no smells (which I have noticed in other care facilities I've had to visit) and a welcoming entrance well secured and watched over by the staff.
All in all it seems a very happy and pleasant place to be if one has to stay there.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Finavon CourtThank you for your lovely words and for being such a valued friend to your friend over the past two years. Visits like yours mean so much, and it is wonderful to know that our team's support, courtesy and flexibility have helped you continue that special routine together.
We are also grateful for your kind comments about the cleanliness, welcome and overall atmosphere at Finavon Court. Creating a warm, tidy and comfortable home for residents and visitors alike is very important to us, so it means a great deal to have that recognised. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

Very welcoming and friendly staff who are caring and compassionate towards the residents. My uncle passed away
just a week after my aunt moved into Finavon and the staff went above and beyond to try and help her to adjust and settle into her new surroundings and routine.
The home is always clean and
tidy and there are lots of activities going on for the residents if they choose to get involved.
I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a care home.

My mother was a resident at Finavon for over 2 yrs up until mid January 2026. She was so well cared for and I cannot fault any of the staff. It is such a friendly and homely place and you are made to feel so welcome from the minute you walk in the door. Relatives are also treated with the same friendly
nature from all the staff and I feel that the residents are made to feel special. The home is clean and always tidy. There is always something going on for the residents to attend, if they wish.
I have said from the time my mum went into Finavon that this place is special and it really is, I cannot recommend this home and the staff highly enough. They are all stars

My dad had an emergency assessment two days after losing his wife. We were shown complete compassion and sympathy. My dad moved in on the same day, and even though it was a horrendous time for us as a family, we were constantly reassured and supported by the carers. He has been there for over a month
now and the change I can see in my dad cannot be put into words. He keeps going on about the high standard of meals and choices. If my dad turns down a meal, the carers offer him several other options to try to get him to eat. His little flat is far more than I could have hoped for. He has a little kitchen area which helps him maintain some independence, filled with his items. The flat and entire home is kept spotless and I love the way all his laundry is done together and not with other residents. Nothing has ever been too much trouble for the carers and they go above and beyond every day. The home keep us updated of any changes and all visitors are made to feel so welcome.

Finavon Court Care Home is a well-operated and run home.
Nothing is too much bother to any of the staff.
As a result of the excellent care and attention, my mother has thrived out of all recognition.
Also, the good quality and choice of food adds to the good experience of the home.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.506)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.506) out of 10 for Finavon Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.681 for Finavon Court is calculated as follows: ( (119 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 163 Ratings = 4.681
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Finavon Court is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
