From my first visit to Cragielea, I was impressed by the welcome I received from the staff and manager
Placing my husband in a care home has been one of the most difficult decisions I've had to make
He arrived in Craigielea on 17th March and has been quite settled since then
The staff have been
very helpful and supported any concerns I have had about my husbands wellbeing
I know it's early days but I'm hoping that what I've seen so far will continue
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at CraigieleaThank you for sharing your experience. We understand what a difficult and emotional decision it can be to place a loved one into care, and we are very grateful for the trust you have placed in the team at Craigielea. It is lovely to hear that your husband has settled well since moving in and that you have felt welcomed and supported by both the staff and management team. Your kind words will mean a great deal to everyone at the home, and we will continue to do all we can to support both you and your husband in the months ahead.

Preston House

from Gillian F (Wife of Resident) published on 12 May 2026

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Gary has been in your care 11 months, it's not been without its bumps and twists along the way. Having never needed adult health and social care support before, I didn't know what to expect. On the whole it has been a very positive experience, and the worries or concerns we've had have been dealt with
quickly and supportively. My only concerns if I still had to think of any would be things missing belonging to Gary or finding things that aren't his - not a big problem in the grand scale of things. Staffing - not always able to find someone, which concerns me that he and peers are left vulnerable for short periods of time.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Preston HouseThank you for taking the time to share your experience of Gary's first 11 months at Preston House. We understand that moving into adult health and social care can feel daunting, so it means a great deal to hear that, overall, your experience has been a positive one and that any concerns raised have been responded to quickly and supportively.

We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding belongings and staffing visibility. While we are pleased these issues have not had a major impact on Gary's care, we recognise how important reassurance, security and timely support are for both residents and families. Your comments have been noted and will help us continue to review and improve the experience we provide and please do not hesitate to reach out to our Service Manager should you ever wish to discuss any worries or concerns further.

Thank you again for your trust and support.

My sister was full blown dementia, my brother in law was onset. She was admitted to the care of Larkfield View the seperation took it's toll on my brother in law who was also admitted this gave them the chance to be together in my sister's last days. Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Staff are fantastic on dads floor (2) he has his favourites which is nice to see. There are plenty of activities for him to do if he wishes to do so, however he was a very quiet soul and didn't do these things before so we don't expect him to do it now if he doesn't want to but it's lovely to see photos
when he does.
I would like to see him clean shaven daily as he always was at home. He was a very smart tidy man with very high hygiene standards. I like to remember him this way. On this note I would like to see his clothing replaced when he spills food down him. Again I understand if we come down after lunch staff have not had time but when we arrive after two it's not nice to see him wandering around in clothing covered in lunch . We did leave money for dad in the office when he moved in so that he could have hair trims every 6-8 weeks where possible.
Staff are on the ball with dad's health and I trust them 100% that they have his best interests at heart. Thanks to everyone
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Preston HouseThank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback about your dad's care at Preston House. It's lovely to hear how much you value the team on his floor and the genuine relationships they've built with him.

We're pleased that you feel confident in the care provided and that your dad is supported to take part in activities at his own pace, with those special moments captured for you to see.

Your comments are important to us, and we will share your feedback regarding your dad's presentation with the team to ensure greater consistency in supporting your dad to look and feel as he always has done.

Thank you again for your kind words and for placing your trust in us - it truly means a great deal.

From the moment you enter Roselea House you feel so welcome from the manager and all her staff. My loved one has settled so well. There are activities daily, the interaction between staff and residents is so lovely to see. When a resident has a birthday the staff put banners and balloons up and a cake
is made for them. The meals are delicious and afternoon tea is served every day. There is also armchair keep-fit and a silent disco and singers. Roselea House is a wee gem.

Mum is safe and supported in Bankview. She has her own room which weve fitted with furniture and photos from her house. Mum receives her medication and lovely food, I dont think she remembered to take her tablets or cook meals at home. The Bankview staff seem to always be engaged with and supportive
of mum and the other residents. Mum loves the Bankview social activities: she might not recognise us but remembers how much she enjoys dancing.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at BankviewThank you for sharing such a thoughtful review. I am so delighted I put my mum into care. She is so come on leaps and bounds. Interacts with other residents and if she has a bad day, the staff take her right back to her happy place. All her personal care is taken care of with dignity and there is also plenty of cuddles for security. The food at the
dining room looks and smells amazing and they all have plenty of activities. Thank you all for taking great care of Mum

We have nothing but good things to say about Finavon. From our first initial visit, it was clear to see that staff have very positive and respectful relationships with residents. Since moving in, Mum has been well cared for, which is evident in her appearance and her demeanour. It's clear for us to
see that she feels comfortable and happy, which is a huge relief for us after what has been a very stressful time.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Finavon CourtThank you for your kind words about Finavon Court. It means a great deal to know that you felt the positive and respectful relationships from your very first visit.

We see every day how important it is for residents to feel comfortable and settled, so it's reassuring to hear that your mum's wellbeing, appearance and happiness are reflecting this. We also understand how stressful this transition can be for families, and we're glad we've been able to provide some peace of mind during that time.

Your feedback is truly appreciated by the whole team.

Dad loves day care. He loves the company, the activites. The place is beautiful and very homely. All staff are lovely. Dad would go 7 days a week if he could. He always has a smile on his face when it's a daycare day. Would recommend this facility to anyone.

My father stayed at the home for 5 weeks from Nov- Dec last year. On every visit I was spoken to so kindly by the staff on duty and made to feel very welcome. Dad was treated with dignity, consideration and humour throughout that week and for the remainder of his stay. The staff got to know him very
well and always spoke about him with genuine affection when talking to me and my brothers. He was moved after a few days having been assessed and the lower corridor suited his needs better. One of dad's friends that he knew from the Alzheimer's club had recently moved in and dad was able to sit with him in the day lounge, enabling him to see a familiar face.
Such a great place, staffed by caring professionals. Friendly and offered a home from home.
