Excellent caring staff that are always happy to help. Room is always clean and tidy although it could do with a fresh coat of paint. The laundry could be done with a bit more care taken to it.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Roselea HouseThank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you find our team caring, helpful and that your room is kept clean and tidy. We appreciate your comments regarding the dcor and laundry, and will ensure these are reviewed with the team to see where improvements can be made. If you ever have any future concerns, our Manager is always available and happy to help, so please don't hesitate to speak with her at any time. Thank you again.

The staff made an incredibly difficult, emotional period of our lives so much more bearable. Every member of staff at Roselea were so welcoming, patient, kind and so supportive of not only dad, but all the family. Dad has settled so quickly into this nurturing, stimulating environment and it feels like
a "home from home" for him. Thank you to all the staff for getting that perfect balance of "caring for" while allowing for choice and freedom to still get out and about with friends and family.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Roselea HouseThank you for your kind and thoughtful feedback. We're so pleased to hear that your dad has settled in well and that Roselea House has felt like a true home from home during what we understand can be a very emotional time. It means a great deal to know our team have been welcoming, patient and supportive, and that we've been able to strike the right balance between providing care and supporting independence. Your words will be shared with the whole team, who will be truly touched. Thank you.

My mother (Jessie) has now been a resident at Roselea House for six months. During this time, we as a family have found all of the staff to be thoroughly professional, caring, friendly and attentive, not only to my mother's needs but also to the various family members as a whole. Every time I go in,
I know I will be met with a smile, called by my name, and given a full update on my mother's condition and what she has been up to. The facilities, meals, support and activities are excellent, and much praise must be given to Ruth and her team.
On a couple of occasions, I have had to attend the Care Home during the night due an incident with my mother and have always found the night shift staff to work to the same excellent level of care that your witness during the day.
We, as a family, could not wish for my mum to be in a better place at this stage in her life.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Roselea HouseThank you for your very kind review and for sharing your family's experience at Roselea House. We are delighted to hear that your mother has settled well with us over the past six months, and that you have felt so supported by our team. A lot of thought goes into the care, communication, activities and welcoming atmosphere here at Roselea House so we are pleased to know they have given you reassurance. Your lovely words about Ruth and the team, including our night staff, will mean so much to everyone. Thank you again for your trust and support - it is a privilege to care for your mother and to support your family at this important stage in her life.

Bankview House at Bankview Care Home has been a very positive experience in residential living for my mother, the facility is attractive and well maintained. Her room is spacious and has a lovely view. Staff are friendly, attentive and professional. Guests are welcomed and staff always know where my
mother is - either at the lounge or in her room. This is reassuring. The family is kept updated on anything relevant, the administrator does an excellent job, also, and is extremely helpful.

My mum has been in Fernlea for 17 months after being in a sheltered home and the care she has had there has been first class. The carers really care, the activities are so well organised and presented, the building is kept very clean and everyone including kitchen staff are so helpful and kind.

The rooms are lovely and spacious but that's where the positives stop. My mother was left most days sitting in her room. Found her in the corridor distressed and upset with no staff around on numerous occasions. Food awful and they had care staff having to cook in the kitchen as no chef.My mum lost
loads of weight. No activities or regular exercise and certainly no meaningful personalised care. My mother had 3 urine infections that were not picked up by the home. My mother and 2 other residents on the same floor have all been moved by their families to other care homes. The difference in the care home she is now in is like night and day. She has put weight on and there are meaningful activities daily.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Methven HouseThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I viewed several Residential Care Homes in the Scunthorpe area. I was looking for a care home which was big enough to have the facilities required but not so big as to loose the personal touch. I turned up without appointment at each care home so that I could assess them as is. I made a point of talking
to managers carers and ancillary staff at each care home. Some care homes felt to be soulless and seemed to lack empathy for the residents. I made a short list then decided that Bay Tree Court Residential home was only care home which ticked all the boxes.
All the staff at Bay Tree seem to be happy in their work and totally commited the the welfare of the residents. They are so attentive. The staff worked so hard to help my wife settle in to her new surroundings. Cook has been very happy to cater for my wife's vegetarian diet. Bay Tree House have taken a lot of stress off my shoulders.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Baytree CourtThank you for taking the time to share your experience of Baytree Court Care Home. We know how important it is to find a care home that offers both excellent facilities and a genuine personal touch, so it means a great deal that you knew we were the right choice for your wife. We're especially pleased to hear that our team made such a positive impression when you visited and that their warmth, attentiveness and commitment stood out to you. Supporting your wife to settle in comfortably, including catering for her vegetarian diet, is exactly the kind of personalised care we strive to provide every day. Thank you for trusting Baytree Court with her care. We're so glad we've been able to ease some of the stress during what can be a very difficult time.

In January 2025 my 93 year old mother (Margaret) was moved from her previous care home, due to unfortunate circumstances, and went to Grandholm Care Home. On our initial pre-move visit, myself and sisters were met by Val (Care Home Manager) and given a tour of the facilities. We were all hugely impressed
by what we saw, a clean, well organised care home, lots of staff, and dedicated nursing facilities per floor. We were all, obviously, highly concerned about the move, but from that day of the visit onward we knew she was in the best possible place with the best care home staff.
These are the easy words to write, but all of this is not possible unless you have the people to make this work. We have always found the Grandholm care home staff, kind, caring, professional, dedicated people who do a remarkable job caring for our elderly when they are most vulnerable. They treated my mother with dignity (not easy with a dementia resident), kindness and encouragement.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Grandholm Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience following your mum Margaret's move to Grandholm Care Home. We understand how worrying a change in circumstances can be, and we are truly pleased that from your very first visit you felt reassured and confident in your decision. Val and the team work incredibly hard to ensure the home is welcoming, well organised and supportive for both residents and their families. Your kind words about our staff mean a great deal. Providing dignified, compassionate and professional dementia care is at the heart of what we do, and we are so glad Margaret felt encouraged and respected during her time with us. Thank you again for your trust and for recognising the dedication of our team.

Following a fall on Hogmanay my 87 year old father was taken into hospital and stayed there for about 2 weeks. After much discussion with Adult Services it was agreed that he required constant care, so three care homes were visited with Craigielea chosen. The actual move to Craigielea was thrust upon
us with next to no notice.
Thankfully Craigielea were very helpful and cooperative throughout this time. I live a five hour drive from Renfrew and I really appreciated a call from Eileen (admin) informing me my father was safe and settling in well. I was aware of this from my siblings but the call made a real difference.
On my first visit to Craigielea I was impressed with the setup, how clean it was and especially the staff. EVERYONE from admin to medical to cleaning staff were so friendly and welcoming.
In summary everyone at Craigielea made a very difficult and stressful time bearable and I continue to feel my father is in the right place.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at CraigieleaThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with Craigielea Care Home. We understand how difficult and sudden the move must have felt following your father's hospital stay, and we're so pleased that our team were able to offer reassurance and support during such a stressful time. It means a great deal to hear that our call made a difference and that you felt informed and comforted, especially with you living so far away. Your kind words about the cleanliness of the home and the warmth of our whole team - from administration to care and housekeeping - are truly appreciated. Creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for residents and their families is at the heart of what we do. Thank you for placing your trust in Craigielea. The care my Dad receives is absolutely excellent - all of the staff go to great lengths to make sure all of his needs are met and their kindness and care for him is just wonderful.
They are always cheerful, have really taken the time to get to know him, and clearly want to do all they can to make him
happy.
Nothing is too much trouble; and he is treated with the utmost dignity at all times,
They take great care of making sure he is comfortable, help him to keep taking pride in his appearance, and always find time to chat with him however busy they are.
The food is really beautiful, plentiful and interesting with lots of home made goodies and little treats which go down very well.
As a family we are made welcome at all times; and we have all been touched beyond measure at the care my Dad receives - and also the support given to us.
I can't praise the staff at Baytree high enough, or say how very much all they do is appreciated by my Dad, myself and my family. Huge thanks to everyone.

The home was well run and the staff were excellent. They provided a safe haven for my dad and allowed him to have dignity and comfort at the hardest time. They were helpful and understanding and they took a genuine interest in all he had done.

I knew from early on during my initial unscheduled visit that Heathfield was going to be the carehome for my mum.
The warm welcome & level of understanding shown by all the staff who I met really hit the mark. And this has continued ever since my mum moved into Heatherfield just over a couple of
months ago.
That understanding was clearly demonstrated to me when the Team received my mum's assessment details and they considered it would be more appropriate to place her within a different wing which would better reflect her ongoing needs.
The support & guidance offered throughout this difficult time has been first class and very much appreciated.
Since moving in nothing has been too much trouble and everyone has ensured that my mum is settling in well and she is also making new friends too.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Heathfield to anyone who finds themselves in the difficult situation of finding a carehome for one of their loved ones.
PS & even baked her a birthday cake!
