Heatherfield Nursing Home is a 61 bed registered care facility, located close to the M8 motorway between Edinburgh and Glasgow and enjoys scenic views of Bathgate, Ochil and Pentland Hills.

The home provides general nursing care to people over the age of 65 and to those with dementia related conditions.

All of the bedrooms have bright and spacious single bed accommodation with en-suite facilities for privacy and convenience. The home specialises in small scale living for its dementia residents, allowing excellent person centred care. Large living spaces with separate kitchenettes and extra wide corridors throughout the building encourage the residents' freedom of movement.

Heatherfield offers a varied activities programme and residents can enjoy the beautiful gardens surrounding the home at their leisure. The home also benefits from excellent public transport links to Armadale and Bathgate, which makes for some fantastic day trips to places of local interest.

This day, being our anniversary, we wanted to enjoy the day, and we got it. Good old-fashioned singing and a jolly time—all seemed to enjoy it, especially the oldies. A good meal was served to us and the table was well dressed both of us had a good time & rounded off our day. Thanks folkes.

I feel very happy & settled and well looked after, and I am content now. The staff are exceptional, food is always delicious with plenty of options to choose from.
I am always treated with dignity and respect.
I am happy with choice of activities and now taking part in them.
Every single member
of staff has treated me with so much dignity, respect, friendliness, compassion, caring, considerate, etc. Attitude of exceptional members of staff.
My bedroom is a very good size with lovely views of garden. My bedroom is always kept clean. Open visiting is really good.

Dad is exceptionally well cared for and I am very happy with all aspects of both his care and my communications with staff. Care is always taken to ensure Dad can be as independent as possible, and do as much of his hobbies as he still can. Staff are very knowledgable about dad's medical needs, and
also know him very well.

The staff are all very nice, polite and helpful. I am always kept up to date with how my dad is doing, if there are any issues. Any requests are dealt with straight away, nothing is too much for them. My dad is very happy where he is and is always praising the staff for their thoughtfulness and consideration.

My mother has been living at Heatherfield for a year now. She is settled, content and as happy as she can be. She is really well looked after by the staff here. What we're most impressed with at Heatherfield is the lovely atmosphere. The staff are incredibly caring and gentle. They smooth out any difficulties
with understanding and humour. There's plenty going on and my mother is on committee which is fantastic.

The short time my husband has been in Heatherfield has been very successful. I was very anxious initially but kind, efficient, professional staff have been most reassuring. Exchanges of information have been two way and any suggestions I have made have been acted on. I felt fully informed and included
in my husband's care. I also feel staff care for me too. My only criticism is that I feel the catering could be a bit more imaginative.

Heatherfield is a very good care home. The management and staff are all excellent. The nurse in charge brought my wife on really well, and she was treated with dignity, empathy, and overall, I cannot fault the home.

Since my mother came to the care home, she has improved very well. The staff and manager are very good and approachable. We as a family are kept up to date if there are any issues with Mum.
The patients are well looked after, and there are quite a few activities for them to go to. I think my mum is
very happy here.

Myself and Mum are very well supported by all staff. I am always met with smiling kindness and kept well informed of all Mum's needs and care. Mum's room and all other facilities are kept spotless. She is included in many of the activities even though, physically she isn't as able to join in as she
once was. It's good for her social skills/needs. I cannot praise the carers enough. Most of the time Mum is easy to work with but staff need to watch as she can lash out without warning. The respect and care remain the same. Excellent.

My mother in law has been a resident of Heatherfield care home.
At all times we have found the home to be warm and welcoming providing a high standard of care to all the residents, with all their varying needs.
Their staff respect that all residents will not want to throw themselves into joint activities,
but special mention should be given to all the constant events and fun days they do to provide for the old people keeping them active in both mind and body. Well done to all the staff.

My mother was admitted to Heatherfield just prior to full restrictions coming into force. This was an extremely difficult time. The staff then, I'm sure, did the best they could to provide the best care. I had issues with the old regime. However, after the new manager arrived everything greatly improved.
All staff are caring and attentive and there now exists a much friendlier atmosphere. The activities coordinator is doing a great job which we appreciate. I can only thank all staff for the care and attention they provide.

I have the highest regard for the carers for the way have coped over the last couple of years. My husband was discharged to the home at the beginning of lockdown, and despite not being able to visit I was always kept up to date on his welfare. Since then when I visit he always seems content and well
cared for.

What a fantastic day I had with my Mum, she was beaming from start to finish. I can't thank the staff enough they really do go the extra mile. I must say the care and attention to detail in Heatherfield is second to none. Thanks very much again for making Mum feel, very special.
