Heatherfield Nursing Home is a 61 bed registered care facility, located close to the M8 motorway between Edinburgh and Glasgow and enjoys scenic views of Bathgate, Ochil and Pentland Hills.

The home provides general nursing care to people over the age of 65 and to those with dementia related conditions.

All of the bedrooms have bright and spacious single bed accommodation with en-suite facilities for privacy and convenience. The home specialises in small scale living for its dementia residents, allowing excellent person centred care. Large living spaces with separate kitchenettes and extra wide corridors throughout the building encourage the residents' freedom of movement.

Heatherfield offers a varied activities programme and residents can enjoy the beautiful gardens surrounding the home at their leisure. The home also benefits from excellent public transport links to Armadale and Bathgate, which makes for some fantastic day trips to places of local interest.

I am so happy with Mum's care. I would not think of a better care home. The receptionist is so helpful. The manager is always available, but big praise to the coordinators; they do an amazing job.

My mum went into Heathfield in January 2020, not long before the first Covid lockdown. The management and staff kept us well informed as to how my mum was doing, which we really appreciated. We were able to phone and speak to Mum any time, which we really appreciated. In my view, the staff have worked
really hard to keep my mum safe, which is greatly appreciated.

The staff in Cameron House at Heatherfield are wonderful. They have had such a difficult year and through it all they have looked after my mum and all the residents to the highest degree, ensuring they have been mentally and physically kept active throughout the pandemic. When I phone to speak to my
mum they always greet me with a cheery voice and take the time to share her day with me, despite being busy. I cannot praise them enough for all their hard work and dedication. A big thank you Cameron staff.

Very good care home with excellent staff.
They have had a difficult time during lockdown but have managed to keep residents well entertained. How they have done it I do not know.
Staff show lots of compassion to residents and look after them very well.

She was made to feel welcome from the day she arrived. We are aware of the incredible hard work put into my mother's care, especially over the last

My father was in Heatherfield with Dementia and he also had cancer. He was there from November 2018 until he passed away in April 2019. The care he was given was amazing. It is very difficult for any family to have their loved one go into a care home, but they really did take good care of him. The
staff were all amazing from the nurses, carers, kitchen, laundry, maintenance, office. Each and every department played a part. We, as a family each had our favourites and my dad also had his favourites, but overall we couldn't have gotten better care. Towards the end of dad's life, the care was tremendous for both dad and us as a family as the staff were very attentive to us too. Cannot fault them. Thank you to each and every one of you.

I find the care my sister is receiving up to this date is really more than good. The entire staff treat her very well. Also, the carers and cleaning staff are kind and cheerful. The work they have to do must be very stressful and they deserve all the credit they get. All our family thank you very much.

The staff are the best asset here. Always friendly and approachable. They have shown my aunt nothing but respect and treated here always with dignity.
The food is of a high standard with good choices.
Always clean and fresh smelling.
Feel the rooms are a bit dated and could be upgraded but always
maintained to a good standard. Very happy with my aunt being here.

Delighted with the progress in my wife since arriving at Heatherfield in February 2018.
Staff all very well presented, very kind, my wife has no ill words for anyone.
The room is brilliant. Delighted that catheter has been removed. My wife feels better too. Great that I can bring wee Lucky, my wife's
pup, in to see her.
I would definitely recommend Heatherfield to anyone's family member for care. Very attentive, spotless and easy to talk to (all staff).

Whenever I visit my papa he’s clean and tidy. Always fed and watered.
There’s always a carer nearby.
The only issue has been items going missing after going to laundry, but overall, he’s happy and cared for.

I am happy with the way my husband is being looked after. The carers are very pleasant to us when we visit. One concern I have is that they are left in the sitting room with no carers, surely there should be one beside them.

Everything about the home is excellent and all the staff, from manager to domestic help, are kind, considerate and helpful - and competent.
Mum has been in the frail elderly unit since May 2012. She is now more or less blind and very deaf and can only shuffle a few yards on her Zimmer, so doesn't
participate in communal activities.
What she does enjoy is one to one chats with anyone who comes to her room - be it the nurse or the laundry lady. She feels secure, knowing that residents with dementia can't wander around freely, so can't invade her room - she had a nasty experience in respite elsewhere, a while before she came to Heatherfield.

This is the first time that I have been in Heatherfield, and what a wonderful place it is, everybody is very nice and my aunt is very well looked after, it took her a wee while to get used to her new home, but she has settled in now, this was all brought about by the wonderful staff who work there.

I am very happy with the care my father receives in Heatherfield. The nurses and carers have a great relationship with him, he is well looked after and his health is closely monitored. The facilities are also great, his room is large and airy and the place is very clean on the whole.
