This is the first time that I have been in Heatherfield, and what a wonderful place it is, everybody is very nice and my aunt is very well looked after, it took her a wee while to get used to her new home, but she has settled in now, this was all brought about by the wonderful staff who work there.

I am very happy with the care my father receives in Heatherfield. The nurses and carers have a great relationship with him, he is well looked after and his health is closely monitored. The facilities are also great, his room is large and airy and the place is very clean on the whole.

My wife was a resident in another home before moving to Heatherfield. The difference is night and day. I cannot find fault whatsoever.

Having viewed a number of Care Homes, prior to selecting Heatherfield, my decision to select this as a care home for my mother was an easy choice to make.

During my initial visit, I liked how the areas for the residents were arranged into small groups. The management and staff were friendly and caring to both the residents and visitors.

Over the 5 months that my mum has been a resident, I find visiting a pleasure as I am always made welcome and receive an update on my mum's health and any needs that arise for her well-being.

The recent addition of an activities coordinator will hopefully increase the stimulation levels for the residents.

The unit reflects practice which is centred on the individual, which asks for and acts on stated wishes, and which respects differences in needs and wishes.
It deals well with medical issues, but also care and social needs. It is involved in the locality from which most of its residents come and encourages input from the community from families and local groups (eg dancing, musical groups).

The unit has involved local community services for my mother -dentist, optician etc, appropriately, and have sought local GPs involvement -reassuring in that the GP was my mothers when she lived at home.

The home, I use the word home because that what it is for my mother.

The staff respect her wishes and her dignity at all times.

The food is varied, helped to eat if required is available. If you do not wish to take part in any of the activities, that is fine.

Overall the best home round here. Good staff, clean and patients well catered for. My mum has been a resident there for 6 years and she is happy with the care that she receives. Been a few changes over the years but settled now with good staff.

Thank you for your comments Janice. We have very recently employed a new activities coordinator and a second person will be employed early September, so you should see a vast improvement in our activities over the next few months.

I find Heatherfeild care facility clean and well maintained. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There are activities and entertainment for residents who are able to participate and staff are happy to interact with residents when time and duties allow i.e. play dominoes.

My mum is 91 and had been moved several times in a short period and when she saw Heatherfield she was looking forward to moving there. The nurses and carers really look after her. She has settled in well and has connected with many of the carers and nurses.

The activities taking place certainly have encouraged her to connect with other residents.

I certainly feel that the care she is getting has put the family's mind at ease as she now has constant care and company that she needs.
