My mother in law was transferred here from another care home as more to suit her needs, a very lovely place , very welcoming, staff are absolutely amazing/polite & welcoming when you are visiting , they can't do enough for the residents, very attentive to all who is in their care. Place is clean, bright
& loads of activities planned & all what is happening is displayed on the wall for you to see. All the staff are very approachable & nothing is any bother. The food menus are displayed to see what is available & all sound & look amazing. Noticed a change in my mother in law for the better since she has moved here. She seems happier & more settled, always kept upto date with anything that needs to be told to us.

Management and the rest of the staff were all very good to my gran when she was at craigie! She wasn't there very long but the time she spent there she was well looked after! The staff were always very welcoming to myself and my family and grans friends!
Care homes are always a last resort for our
loved ones but I can say wholeheartedly that craigie is a place where your loved one will feel loved and cared for!
Thanks for looking after Gran! I know she appreciated you all!!

Every time I go in, I am always pleased with how my husband looks. The only complaint I would have are the slippers, as he never seems to have his own ones. I understand it is not easy as I know he walks into other rooms. Staff are always polite and glad to answer any questions I ask. Manager always
polite, keeps me up to date with any problems with my husband.

Our Mum moved into Preston House in August 2021 when, thankfully, the covid restrictions were lifting. I found it very stressful but the staff, especially the manager, settled her in so well. She had a lovely sunny room looking on to the beautiful garden. Her room was always clean and tidy. Sadly she
passed away last week but I want to thank every member of staff for the love and respect they gave her even when she was a challenge in the early days. She was quite a character. We will always be grateful that her last years were happy ones.

Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Preston House

Mum only recently moved to Willow House and we couldn't be happier with the care provided. Willow House has a warm, friendly, caring approach from all staff. Everyone is approachable and helpful. The home is light, clean and nicely decorated. The garden is especially nice and easily accessible.
The
manager went above and beyond to make sure mums needs were met. Nothing is too much bother.
Most importantly mum is happy and safe.

Lomond View Care Home

from Alasdair H (Son of Resident) published on 7 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

The care home brought about the demise of my mother by failing to secure her in her special chair, resulting in a fall which caused complex triple femur fractures. It was 4 hours before an ambulance was called. The damage was unrepairable and mum was put into palliative care in the hospital and died
two weeks later, having been in agony and distressed. The care home did not contact me while mum was in hospital. They claimed they phoned the hospital every day, but mum had been moved to a different hospital! They have admitted that staff were negligent and that carers lied to cover their negligence. It is important that people are made aware of their failings.

Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Lomond View Care Home

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and we apologise that it wasn't a positive one. The care of our residents will always be our priority and in this case we are extremely sorry that your mother did experience a fall. We took it very seriously and, to assure you, we completed a robust review of the situation at the time, we notified all necessary health and social care partners and we did feel we had communicated the review findings and our post-review actions with you. If there are any issues you feel we haven't yet addressed or would like further clarity on we urge you to please speak with our home Service Manager.

My mum came into Preston House 2 years in June and has inproved so much, she is happy, well, and very much cared for. All staff are so friendly and caring nothing is a problem to any of them, and the manager keeps everyone in line, she is strict but in a good way, if you have a problem or concern, she
is on it straight away, (and that is the way it should be). Its been very hard for me to except mum being in a home, but it was the best thing for mum and thats what matter, so glad she is at Preston and I no she is happy and safe.

The professionalism of the staff is outstanding in Fernlea. My mother absolutely loves being in residence there and myself and family and over the moon. The constant updates on the app is amazing watching them all enjoy their activities and entertainment. We had a quiz and raffle night a couple weeks
ago where my cousin came down to sing for them all and we had the residents up dancing and watching the joy in their faces was lovely. I can 100% wholehearted say that they do a wonderful job looking after their residents.

We were apprensive about Dad going into a care home but from the very first visit our fears dissappeared and its been a month since our Dad went into Methven House and the difference in him is astounding! Since we lost my mother he had become very withdrawn and disheartened. But from the very first
day the staff and management have been so welcoming and made him feel right at home. They took the time to get to know him, his likes and dislikes and talk to him like they have known him for ever. On a recent visit he was sitting with friends singing and laughing and looked like a different man. We are very happy with Methven house, it's cosy and warm with lots of activities to keep Dad busy.

My dad had an emergency assessment two days after losing his wife. We were shown complete compassion and sympathy. My dad moved in on the same day, and even though it was a horrendous time for us as a family, we were constantly reassured and supported by the carers. He has been there for over a month
now and the change I can see in my dad cannot be put into words. He keeps going on about the high standard of meals and choices. If my dad turns down a meal, the carers offer him several other options to try to get him to eat. His little flat is far more than I could have hoped for. He has a little kitchen area which helps him maintain some independence, filled with his items. The flat and entire home is kept spotless and I love the way all his laundry is done together and not with other residents. Nothing has ever been too much trouble for the carers and they go above and beyond every day. The home keep us updated of any changes and all visitors are made to feel so welcome.

My wife was moved here 6 months ago. The care that she receives has been and continues to be excellent. I have found all of the staff to be respectful, helpful and very friendly. The staff always keep me informed of any changes concerning my wife's medical needs and are dealt with promptly. The meals
look tasty and the menu varied. Juice and cups of tea etc along with snacks and fruit are readily available throughout the day. The staff do a fantastic job under very difficult circumstances. Nothing appears to be too much trouble to try and make my wife's stay there as comfortable as possible. My wife enjoys the trips out once a week to various local locations as well as getting her hair done every 2-4 weeks by a visiting hairdresser. There always seems to be some form of activity planned for most days.
I applaud the management of this home as they have an open door policy to discuss anything at anytime.
I therefore have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone.
