Preston House

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Staff are fantastic on dads floor (2) he has his favourites which is nice to see. There are plenty of activities for him to do if he wishes to do so, however he was a very quiet soul and didn't do these things before so we don't expect him to do it now if he doesn't want to but it's lovely to see photos
when he does.
I would like to see him clean shaven daily as he always was at home. He was a very smart tidy man with very high hygiene standards. I like to remember him this way. On this note I would like to see his clothing replaced when he spills food down him. Again I understand if we come down after lunch staff have not had time but when we arrive after two it's not nice to see him wandering around in clothing covered in lunch . We did leave money for dad in the office when he moved in so that he could have hair trims every 6-8 weeks where possible.
Staff are on the ball with dad's health and I trust them 100% that they have his best interests at heart. Thanks to everyone
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Preston HouseThank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback about your dad's care at Preston House. It's lovely to hear how much you value the team on his floor and the genuine relationships they've built with him.

We're pleased that you feel confident in the care provided and that your dad is supported to take part in activities at his own pace, with those special moments captured for you to see.

Your comments are important to us, and we will share your feedback regarding your dad's presentation with the team to ensure greater consistency in supporting your dad to look and feel as he always has done.

Thank you again for your kind words and for placing your trust in us - it truly means a great deal.

From the moment you enter Roselea House you feel so welcome from the manager and all her staff. My loved one has settled so well. There are activities daily, the interaction between staff and residents is so lovely to see. When a resident has a birthday the staff put banners and balloons up and a cake
is made for them. The meals are delicious and afternoon tea is served every day. There is also armchair keep-fit and a silent disco and singers. Roselea House is a wee gem.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Roselea HouseThank you for your lovely feedback about Roselea House. It's wonderful to hear that your loved one has settled so well and that you felt such a warm welcome from the moment you arrived.

We have nothing but good things to say about Finavon. From our first initial visit, it was clear to see that staff have very positive and respectful relationships with residents. Since moving in, Mum has been well cared for, which is evident in her appearance and her demeanour. It's clear for us to
see that she feels comfortable and happy, which is a huge relief for us after what has been a very stressful time.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Finavon CourtThank you for your kind words about Finavon Court. It means a great deal to know that you felt the positive and respectful relationships from your very first visit.

We see every day how important it is for residents to feel comfortable and settled, so it's reassuring to hear that your mum's wellbeing, appearance and happiness are reflecting this. We also understand how stressful this transition can be for families, and we're glad we've been able to provide some peace of mind during that time.

Your feedback is truly appreciated by the whole team.

My sister has recently been admitted to Falkland View in Falkland as she no longer has capacity to care for herself. Making a decision to put a loved one into care is very challenging. From day one this lovely home has helped us make this transition as painless as possible. Falkland View is a lovely
place. Having looked at other homes the difference was felt immediately. The rooms and facilities are fantastic. The staff are friendly, approachable and most importantly kind. The relief I feel at finding such a lovely home for my sister is enormous. Thank you to you all for making my sister and our family welcome.

Finavon Court

from Walter B (Friend of Resident) published on 7 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I've been visiting this care home for over 2 years now on a weekly basis to take my friend out locally for a cup of tea and a wee stroll.
I tend to phone the home first and check it is ok for me to visit my friend (of over 40 years) and the staff, who are incredibly courteous to me, advise if my friend
has a gp appointment, too tired to see me or other. However I think we have only missed 3 visits due to my friend not keeping well that day.
Occasionally if he is too tired then the staff make a sitting room available and provide us both with a tea or coffee or water which is very kind of them.
The care home itself is always clean and tidy, no smells (which I have noticed in other care facilities I've had to visit) and a welcoming entrance well secured and watched over by the staff.
All in all it seems a very happy and pleasant place to be if one has to stay there.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Finavon CourtThank you for your lovely words and for being such a valued friend to your friend over the past two years. Visits like yours mean so much, and it is wonderful to know that our team's support, courtesy and flexibility have helped you continue that special routine together.
We are also grateful for your kind comments about the cleanliness, welcome and overall atmosphere at Finavon Court. Creating a warm, tidy and comfortable home for residents and visitors alike is very important to us, so it means a great deal to have that recognised. Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
I've noticed a really positive change in the home since the new manager started. There seems to be a real focus on improving the environment and making sure residents feel comfortable and well cared for. The atmosphere feels more organised, communication has improved, and the staff appear more supported
and motivated.
It's clear that the new management is working hard to make positive changes, and those efforts are starting to show. Small improvements in daily routines, cleanliness, and engagement with residents have made a noticeable difference. It's reassuring to see the home moving in such a positive direction.
Overall, it's encouraging to see the progress being made, and I hope the improvements continue. Thank you to the team for the care and effort you're putting In.
I would however like to see more activities being done with my mum. I do realise her dementia has affected her mobility, but this should not exclude her. It makes me smile seeing her picture on your social media page.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Barrogil HouseThank you for your kind and thoughtful feedback - it means a lot to the team at Barrogil House.
We're really pleased to hear you've noticed the positive changes in the home. Creating a comfortable, well-organised environment where residents feel supported and valued is so important to us, and it's wonderful to know this is coming through.
It's also lovely to hear that seeing your mum on our social media brings a smile. Those moments of connection really matter.
We appreciate your feedback around activities too. We'll share this with the team to ensure we continue finding ways to involve your mum in a way that suits her needs and abilities.

Massive difference in past few weeks within the home. The staff are commenting how much a happier place the home is and it is noticeable when I visit my father in law.
There seems to be a lot more activities for the residents and more thought going into what activities are on offer
Management is also
seen more within the home and easily approachable.

I can honestly say that this transition with my mum into here couldn't have gone any better. She is so well cared for in every way I could ask for and hope for . The staff are truly amazing and can't do enough for mum and even offering to make me a cuppa when I come . Mums room is great and the one
I asked for she loves the view . She now thinks that's her home and the carers are lovely to her . Her moods can be challenging at times but the carers know how to take it and are magicians at sorting any situation. The personal touches are something else as every single one of the residents are well attended to and cared for . If I could give you 1000,s of stars I would put them in a basket and send them to you all . Xxx

My mother was a resident at Finavon for over 2 yrs up until mid January 2026. She was so well cared for and I cannot fault any of the staff. It is such a friendly and homely place and you are made to feel so welcome from the minute you walk in the door. Relatives are also treated with the same friendly
nature from all the staff and I feel that the residents are made to feel special. The home is clean and always tidy. There is always something going on for the residents to attend, if they wish.
I have said from the time my mum went into Finavon that this place is special and it really is, I cannot recommend this home and the staff highly enough. They are all stars

My husband has settled in well and I am happy with the care he gets. His room is adequate and clean. He has to spend all his time in bed because of his condition. The bed clothes get changed regularly, as does the clothes he wears. There is music playing while I am visiting, which he enjoys. The music
helps to keep him calm. The staff look in often to reassure him. I am very happy for him to be there.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the management and all the staff at Alexander House for the exceptional care given to my mother during the last weeks of her life in your care. From the very beginning, we were reassured by how well run and organised the home is, led with professionalism
and compassion, creating a calm and supportive environment. Every member of staff showed remarkable kindness, understanding and dedication. They treated her with dignity and warmth. Excellent caring staff that are always happy to help. Room is always clean and tidy although it could do with a fresh coat of paint. The laundry could be done with a bit more care taken to it.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Roselea HouseThank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you find our team caring, helpful and that your room is kept clean and tidy.
We appreciate your comments regarding the dcor and laundry, and will ensure these are reviewed with the team to see where improvements can be made. The staff made an incredibly difficult, emotional period of our lives so much more bearable. Every member of staff at Roselea were so welcoming, patient, kind and so supportive of not only dad, but all the family. Dad has settled so quickly into this nurturing, stimulating environment and it feels like
a "home from home" for him. Thank you to all the staff for getting that perfect balance of "caring for" while allowing for choice and freedom to still get out and about with friends and family.
