My dad has only been at Fernlea for a couple of weeks but the staff have gone out of their way to make him feel at home. He got his hair cut today and was so happy showing me on face time. We live in the US and yesterday he was wanting a glass of lemonade and I emailed to see if one if the girls could
buy him a bottle at the store and literally in 5 mins I got a message from him with his bottle of lemonade! Its hard being so far away but the staff here have gone out of their way to make my dad happy and settled. I am a nurse practitioner and Natasha and her staff have been on the ball with any medical needs such as a recent blood draw and medication questions. I am so relieved and happy he is here.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Fernlea HouseThank you so much for sharing such a heart-warming review. It means a great deal to the whole team at Fernlea. We know how difficult it can be to support a loved one from overseas, and we're truly glad that our efforts are helping your dad feel settled, cared for and at home.
It's lovely to hear how much the small moments, from a fresh haircut to a simple bottle of lemonade, have made a difference. Natasha and the team will be delighted to know their prompt attention have brought you reassurance.
Thank you again for your trust. We're so pleased your dad is with us and we'll continue to do all we can to keep him happy, comfortable and well cared for.

My mum moved into Roselea on 30th September 2025. She had been in hospital for 3 months and we could no longer give her the care she needed. Roselea was our first choice. I wasn't sure about her moving to a nursing home but I now couldn't be happier. She has settled in well, everybody so kind and helpful
and can't do enough for her. She is well addressed, well fed and well loved after. Great.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Roselea HouseThank you so much for sharing this lovely feedback. Knowing she is comfortable and well looked after is exactly what we hope for every resident. Thank you for placing your trust in us.

I am concerned regarding the amount of staff who are leaving. There seems to be more bank staff than regular staff.
There does not seem to be much to do for the residents, apart from sit in the TV Room from morning to night.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Alexander HouseThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand how important it is for residents to have consistency and plenty of meaningful activities to enjoy. A new Home Manager has recently joined Alexander House and is focusing on strengthening the team and enriching daily life within the home. I am very happy with my brother's care. He has been in Alexander House for 1 year now. But over the last few weeks, I see a difference in him, he is very down and depressed. My opinion is there is no continuity of staff and service users aren't getting a chance to get to know and trust staff. Also not
enough activities to stop them getting bored. I strongly feel if there were more staff more time could be spent with service users.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Alexander HouseThank you for sharing your thoughts about your brother's care. We're pleased to hear that you've been happy overall with the support he's received during his time at Alexander House, however, we're sorry to hear about your recent concerns. We do understand how important consistency and meaningful engagement are for residents and we have a new Service Manager in post who is working closely with the team to strengthen staffing and enhance the activities programme. Please do get in touch with the Manager directly so we can look at how best to continue supporting your brother and ensure he is settled and content.

My dad has been in Methven House for 6 weeks now, and he is thriving. The staff are excellent so caring, kind and friendly as are the management. As a family, we were worried as my dad does not mix well; however, since being here, he engages with other residents and is happy to be involved in a range
of activities. When a family member goes into care, there is always a concern regarding how they will be looked after. Our family has no worries whatsoever. Our dad is in very kind, caring and safe hands in Methven House.

The whole team at Fernlea welcomed my dad and looked after him so well.
They met all his needs whilst maintaining his independence & dignity. What an amazing place for care, our first experience and we won't forget the kindness towards Dad.

The manager and staff have provided excellent care in meeting not only the needs but mental well-being of the resident. The attention to detail and knowing the resident has benefitted him in many ways. To allow the resident to feel as though he is at home in a care setting helps with comfort and reassurance,
while listening to the resident and him being valued. To visitors all staff have been brilliant.

Thank you for your feedback.
