Excellent caring staff that are always happy to help. Room is always clean and tidy although it could do with a fresh coat of paint. The laundry could be done with a bit more care taken to it.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Roselea HouseThank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you find our team caring, helpful and that your room is kept clean and tidy.
We appreciate your comments regarding the dcor and laundry, and will ensure these are reviewed with the team to see where improvements can be made. Your feedback is important in helping us maintain high standards across the home. If you ever have any future concerns, our Manager is always available and happy to help, so please don't hesitate to speak with her at any time. Thank you again.

The staff made an incredibly difficult, emotional period of our lives so much more bearable. Every member of staff at Roselea were so welcoming, patient, kind and so supportive of not only dad, but all the family. Dad has settled so quickly into this nurturing, stimulating environment and it feels like
a "home from home" for him. Thank you to all the staff for getting that perfect balance of "caring for" while allowing for choice and freedom to still get out and about with friends and family.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Roselea HouseThank you for your kind and thoughtful feedback. We're so pleased to hear that your dad has settled in well and that Roselea House has felt like a true home from home during what we understand can be a very emotional time.
It means a great deal to know our team have been welcoming, patient and supportive, and that we've been able to strike the right balance between providing care and supporting independence. Your words will be shared with the whole team, who will be truly touched. Thank you.

My mother (Jessie) has now been a resident at Roselea House for six months. During this time, we as a family have found all of the staff to be thoroughly professional, caring, friendly and attentive, not only to my mother's needs but also to the various family members as a whole. Every time I go in,
I know I will be met with a smile, called by my name, and given a full update on my mother's condition and what she has been up to. The facilities, meals, support and activities are excellent, and much praise must be given to Ruth and her team.
On a couple of occasions, I have had to attend the Care Home during the night due an incident with my mother and have always found the night shift staff to work to the same excellent level of care that your witness during the day.
We, as a family, could not wish for my mum to be in a better place at this stage in her life.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Roselea HouseThank you for your very kind review and for sharing your family's experience at Roselea House. We are delighted to hear that your mother has settled well with us over the past six months, and that you have felt so supported by our team. A lot of thought goes into the care, communication, activities and welcoming atmosphere here at Roselea House so we are pleased to know they have given you reassurance.
Your lovely words about Ruth and the team, including our night staff, will mean so much to everyone. Thank you again for your trust and support - it is a privilege to care for your mother and to support your family at this important stage in her life.

My mum has been in Fernlea for 17 months after being in a sheltered home and the care she has had there has been first class. The carers really care, the activities are so well organised and presented, the building is kept very clean and everyone including kitchen staff are so helpful and kind.
I
cannot praise and thank the staff enough in how they looked after mum and especially how they helped us in my mum's last weeks.

Methven House

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
The rooms are lovely and spacious but that's where the positives stop. My mother was left most days sitting in her room. Found her in the corridor distressed and upset with no staff around on numerous occasions. Food awful and they had care staff having to cook in the kitchen as no chef.My mum lost
loads of weight. No activities or regular exercise and certainly no meaningful personalised care. My mother had 3 urine infections that were not picked up by the home. My mother and 2 other residents on the same floor have all been moved by their families to other care homes. The difference in the care home she is now in is like night and day. She has put weight on and there are meaningful activities daily.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Methven HouseThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you feel this way about your mother's experience at Methven House. Our team always aims to maintain open and supportive communication with families, and we appreciated the opportunity to discuss your concerns with you at the time. I am very happy with the care they give him 24/7, and what else I like is that it is very clean, and every time

My dad has only been at Fernlea for a couple of weeks but the staff have gone out of their way to make him feel at home. He got his hair cut today and was so happy showing me on face time. We live in the US and yesterday he was wanting a glass of lemonade and I emailed to see if one if the girls could
buy him a bottle at the store and literally in 5 mins I got a message from him with his bottle of lemonade! Its hard being so far away but the staff here have gone out of their way to make my dad happy and settled. I am a nurse practitioner and Natasha and her staff have been on the ball with any medical needs such as a recent blood draw and medication questions. I am so relieved and happy he is here.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Fernlea HouseThank you so much for sharing such a heart-warming review. It means a great deal to the whole team at Fernlea. We know how difficult it can be to support a loved one from overseas, and we're truly glad that our efforts are helping your dad feel settled, cared for and at home.
It's lovely to hear how much the small moments, from a fresh haircut to a simple bottle of lemonade, have made a difference. Natasha and the team will be delighted to know their prompt attention have brought you reassurance.
Thank you again for your trust. We're so pleased your dad is with us and we'll continue to do all we can to keep him happy, comfortable and well cared for.

My mum moved into Roselea on 30th September 2025. She had been in hospital for 3 months and we could no longer give her the care she needed. Roselea was our first choice. I wasn't sure about her moving to a nursing home but I now couldn't be happier. She has settled in well, everybody so kind and helpful
and can't do enough for her. She is well addressed, well fed and well loved after. Great.

I am concerned regarding the amount of staff who are leaving. There seems to be more bank staff than regular staff.
There does not seem to be much to do for the residents, apart from sit in the TV Room from morning to night.

I am very happy with my brother's care. He has been in Alexander House for 1 year now. But over the last few weeks, I see a difference in him, he is very down and depressed. My opinion is there is no continuity of staff and service users aren't getting a chance to get to know and trust staff. Also not
enough activities to stop them getting bored. I strongly feel if there were more staff more time could be spent with service users.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Alexander HouseThank you for sharing your thoughts about your brother's care. We're pleased to hear that you've been happy overall with the support he's received during his time at Alexander House, however, we're sorry to hear about your recent concerns. We do understand how important consistency and meaningful engagement are for residents and we have a new Service Manager in post who is working closely with the team to strengthen staffing and enhance the activities programme. Please do get in touch with the Manager directly so we can look at how best to continue supporting your brother and ensure he is settled and content.

Methven House

My dad has been in Methven House for 6 weeks now, and he is thriving. The staff are excellent so caring, kind and friendly as are the management. As a family, we were worried as my dad does not mix well; however, since being here, he engages with other residents and is happy to be involved in a range
of activities. When a family member goes into care, there is always a concern regarding how they will be looked after. Our family has no worries whatsoever. Our dad is in very kind, caring and safe hands in Methven House.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Methven HouseThank you so much for sharing such lovely feedback. We're delighted to hear how well your dad has settled at Methven House and that our activities have encouraged involvement in socialising and making connections. It means a great deal to our whole team to know that you and your family feel reassured and confident in the care he's receiving. Thank you
