Overall Experience
I visit my friend in Willow and have always found it to be a very friendly care home. The staff work hard. Care is provided as it is needed, residents are treated with dignity and respect and nothing is too much trouble for anyone. The food always look good and there are tea trolleys and snacks all the time. There are always activities for my friend to do, bus trips, live music, dancing in the lounge and the manager is always available to assist and answer questions.

Overall Experience
My mum has been at Roselea for a few months and she's settled in really well. The level of care is excellent and the facilities are superb. Mum loves her room which is large and bright and filled with her own things, making her feel much more at home. She's also taking part in the home activities so she's much more active and stimulated than she was when living on her own. Having access to the nursing care has been such a reassurance to us as a family.

Review of Fernlea House from James T (Brother of Resident) published on 25 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card•
Overall Experience
Since my brother has been a resident (3 months) my family cannot speak highly enough of both management and care staff. They ensure medication and medical treatment (external - doctors, dentists, audio) is administered on time without fail. All staff communicate well and show patience and understanding. The meals are varied and healthy, no complaints from my brother speaks volumes! I and my family visit 6/7 days per week and agree that more care staff, notably at weekends would be of benefit. I'll finish by reiterating once again all staff do sterling work.

Review of Preston House from Margaret T (Sister of Resident) published on 8 June 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
My Relative has been a resident at Preston House Nursing home for two and a half years, year on year I've seen improvement in service and care, recently a reduction in my relatives's medication in collaboration with the GP and subsequent retraining of staff has been welcomed. All staff are friendly, proactive, and caring and go to great lengths to care for my sister. The 'Activity' service is exemplary, professional, respectful, giving residents encouragement, stimulation, and enjoyment. Reception is my 'first point of contact,' in person or on the phone, always a helpful caring experience. The financial process works effectively and I am kept well informed.
I live 400 miles from Preston House and receive a weekly report on my relative from the Management Team and the introduction of a video call with my relative is comforting.

Review of Methven House from Angela G (Friend of Resident) published on 27 May 2026 Submitted via Postal Card•
Overall Experience
Methven House is an excellent Care Home. Staff go above and beyond for the residents' care, and the residents are treated with dignity and respect, warmth, and understanding. The staff engage with the residents, it's comforting to know that staff are always seen and present if assistance is needed. Staff listen to the residents and help whenever possible. My friend is seen, heard, acknowledged, and included. When I visit, it feels like my friend's home, and I know she feels the same because she tells me that. I know she is safe, secure, comfortable and well looked after, knowing this gives me tremendous peace of mind.

Review of Fernlea House from Cate H (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 May 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
My mum spent almost 3 years at Fernlea. She had dementia that progressed during her time there. She never wanted to be in care and although she had many good days in Fernlea, there were also times when it was a challenge for both her and the care staff. Despite that, she was always treated with care and dignity and all the staff, carers, cleaners, office staff and workmen took time to get to know her and spend time with her. While she was able to, she enjoyed many of the actiivies and trips out. The staff obviously had to ensure she was safe, but also enabled her to be herself and do her own thing whenever they could. They all have my grateful thanks for the excellent way she was cared for in her last few days. I couldn't have wished for more. I visited my mum often, and experienced the warmth and generosity of the staff when I visited. I was always welcomed, kept well informed of my mum's care and health and treated with real kindness. Thank you all.
↩Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Fernlea House

Review of Preston House from Gillian F (Wife of Resident) published on 12 May 2026 Submitted via Postal Card•
Overall Experience
Gary has been in your care 11 months, it's not been without its bumps and twists along the way. Having never needed adult health and social care support before, I didn't know what to expect. On the whole it has been a very positive experience, and the worries or concerns we've had have been dealt with quickly and supportively. My only concerns if I still had to think of any would be things missing belonging to Gary or finding things that aren't his - not a big problem in the grand scale of things. Staffing - not always able to find someone, which concerns me that he and peers are left vulnerable for short periods of time.

Review of Preston House from Helen J (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 May 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
Staff are fantastic on dads floor (2) he has his favourites which is nice to see. There are plenty of activities for him to do if he wishes to do so, however he was a very quiet soul and didn't do these things before so we don't expect him to do it now if he doesn't want to but it's lovely to see photos when he does. I would like to see him clean shaven daily as he always was at home. He was a very smart tidy man with very high hygiene standards. I like to remember him this way. On this note I would like to see his clothing replaced when he spills food down him. Again I understand if we come down after lunch staff have not had time but when we arrive after two it's not nice to see him wandering around in clothing covered in lunch . We did leave money for dad in the office when he moved in so that he could have hair trims every 6-8 weeks where possible.
Staff are on the ball with dad's health and I trust them 100% that they have his best interests at heart. Thanks to everyone

Review of Roselea House from Brenda B (Daughter of Resident) published on 1 May 2026 Submitted via Postal Card•
Overall Experience
From the moment you enter Roselea House you feel so welcome from the manager and all her staff. My loved one has settled so well. There are activities daily, the interaction between staff and residents is so lovely to see. When a resident has a birthday the staff put banners and balloons up and a cake is made for them. The meals are delicious and afternoon tea is served every day. There is also armchair keep-fit and a silent disco and singers. Roselea House is a wee gem.

We have nothing but good things to say about Finavon. From our first initial visit, it was clear to see that staff have very positive and respectful relationships with residents.
