Myself and family cannot praise highly enough the dedication care and compassion shown to our mum in the time she was a resident at Grandholm .Mum was treated with respect dignity and given choice .Nothing was too much trouble .It was good to see mum laughing again up on her feet and taking part in
activities something she hadn't done or been able to in a long time we got a bit of "mum" back all due to the care and input she received there.
Val the manager was always at hand or able to be contacted ,nurses care staff listened and were on the ball .Mum had a special bond with all the staff and it showed.. even when she was grumpy! They did their best to make her smile .Domestics, kitchen staff and the resident hairdresser deserve a mention they also interacted and took time out for mum .
Sadly mum became poorly and the empathy and exemplary care that was shown and kindness to us as a family at such a sad time in mums final days will never be forgotten..Thank You
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Grandholm Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. It truly means a great deal to us to know that your mum experienced such dedicated care, compassion and dignity during her time at Grandholm. It was a privilege to support her in finding moments of joy and laughter and hearing that you felt you "got a bit of mum back" is incredibly special to us. Val and the whole team, including our nurses, carers, domestics, kitchen staff and hairdresser, will be deeply touched by your kind words. We are proud of the genuine relationships built within the home, even on the more challenging days. We are especially grateful that you have recognised the care and empathy shown during your mum's final days. It was our honour to support both her and your family at such an important time, and we will always remember her fondly. Thank you again for your trust and kindness.

My mum lived at Grandholm Care Home for four years while living with dementia, and I cannot thank the team enough for the care, kindness, and dignity they showed her throughout her time there.
From the beginning, the staff took the time to truly get to know her and made sure she felt safe, comfortable,
and valued every day. The manager leads with genuine compassion and has clearly built a wonderful team who care deeply about the residents.
What stood out most was the time staff spent with her each day - not just meeting her needs, but talking with her, engaging her socially, and making sure she never felt alone. The level of personal care, medical attentiveness, and social support was exceptional.
Knowing she was surrounded by such caring people gave our family real peace of mind. I would give Grandholm Care Home a 10 out of 10 for the outstanding care they provide.

In January 2025 my 93 year old mother (Margaret) was moved from her previous care home, due to unfortunate circumstances, and went to Grandholm Care Home. On our initial pre-move visit, myself and sisters were met by Val (Care Home Manager) and given a tour of the facilities. We were all hugely impressed
by what we saw, a clean, well organised care home, lots of staff, and dedicated nursing facilities per floor. We were all, obviously, highly concerned about the move, but from that day of the visit onward we knew she was in the best possible place with the best care home staff.
These are the easy words to write, but all of this is not possible unless you have the people to make this work. We have always found the Grandholm care home staff, kind, caring, professional, dedicated people who do a remarkable job caring for our elderly when they are most vulnerable. They treated my mother with dignity (not easy with a dementia resident), kindness and encouragement.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Grandholm Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience following your mum Margaret's move to Grandholm Care Home. We understand how worrying a change in circumstances can be, and we are truly pleased that from your very first visit you felt reassured and confident in your decision. Val and the team work incredibly hard to ensure the home is welcoming, well organised and supportive for both residents and their families. Your kind words about our staff mean a great deal. Providing dignified, compassionate and professional dementia care is at the heart of what we do, and we are so glad Margaret felt encouraged and respected during her time with us. Thank you again for your trust and for recognising the dedication of our team.

Our dad was resident at Grandholm Care Home for 18 months prior to his passing. We found the staff, caring, attentive & treated our dad with dignity & respect. Our dad looked clean & cared for. We always found the staff friendly & welcoming when we visited. The care home was clean & tidy. His room was
the same. There always seemed to be a good choice of meals. We had peace of mind knowing he was in a safe place.

We cannot thank the staff at this facility for the incredible care and compassion they showed my late mother during her time there. From the moment she arrived, we felt comforted knowing she was in the best possible hands.
Nothing was ever too much trouble - every member of staff went above and
beyond to ensure my mum was treated with dignity, kindness, and genuine warmth. The level of support, not just for her but for our family too, was truly remarkable. They took the time to get to know her, understand her needs, and made her feel safe and loved right to the end.
Losing a loved one is never easy, but knowing she spent her final days surrounded by such dedicated and caring people brings us immense comfort. I will always be grateful for the respect, professionalism, and heartfelt care shown by everyone at Grandholm care home
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

All staff very friendly from front office staff through to carers, trained nurses, cooks and cleaners. They all know my mums name and always stop to have a wee chat when they see her. My mum's condition has deteriorated and I have been kept regularly up to date on any issues regarding her care or changes
to her medication. She has recently needed more help with her personal care and this has been attended to very well. Her room is always clean and she enjoys the meals that she gets.
Reply from Clare Cogan Turner, Communications at Grandholm Care HomeIt's our privilege to care for your Mum. I am truly impressed with the exceptional care and support provided by the team at Grandholm Care Home. My grandfather, who lives with dementia and hearing loss, has been a resident for 18 months and the staff have consistently shown kindness, compassion, and understanding.
The carers take the time
to get to know him as an individual, adapting their approach to meet his unique needs. They communicate effectively using sign language to the best of there ability, ensuring he feels included and engaged.
The home is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, but it's the dedication and passion of the staff that truly sets Grandholm apart. They go above and beyond to provide a sense of community and belonging for all residents.
I feel grateful and reassured knowing my grandfather is in such capable and caring hands. I highly recommend Grandholm Care Home to anyone looking for a supportive and nurturing environment for their loved one.

Carehome really made me feel at ease when visiting and really looked after my grandmother well even though she was only there a week due to ill health. The staff were remarkably considerate regarding me and my family members. The week of my grandmothers passing was very comfortable and easing for both
me my family and my grandmother. Couldn't have had her in a better carehome.

My aunt was a resident at Grandholm care home from may 2023 until she passed away in April 2025, she had dementia and was unable to live in her flat unassisted. It was not an easy choice putting our aunt in a care home but the staff at Grandholm made the transition so much easier for us.
I always
found the staff to be very attentive and caring and saw to my aunts needs very professionally.
I also found the home to be extremely clean, that was evident in her room and the communal areas.
I would just like to thank the staff for making my aunts stay at Grandholm care home comfortable and gave us peace of mind that she was being well looked after.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Grandholm care home to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one.
Thank you so much.

My mum was a resident for a short period before she sadly passed, the staff welcomed her upon arrival and cared for her with dignity and respect during the short period she was a resident, sadly she passed away. The care she received from the staff was amazing and she was very comfortable when her health
declined due to all the personalised care the staff delivered, I am grateful to all staff at Grandholm, myself and my family cannot thank them enough.

It has been 4 months now since my dad went to Grandholm and all I can say is well done to all, from his first night till now he has been reassured and taken care of every minute of the day.
All the staff from nurses to carers, management and office staff (not forgetting the handypersons) have been
absolutely brilliant, making me and my family feel very welcome every visit and informing us every step of the way on dad's medical changes, activities etc.
It's not an easy decision to put a relative into a care home but Grandholm has made the transition so much easier for us all.
Thank you so much.

It is only over 6 months ago that it was us as a family looking at care homes for our dear Mum who has dementia. And hand on heart we all feel so lucky that Mum is being looked after at Grandholm. The very first thing we noticed on our initial visit was the laughter, and welcoming happy and friendly
atmosphere. Every member of staff is so kind and it has put all our minds at ease knowing that Mum is cared for by such lovely genuine caring people.
Then there is the amazing communication, always keeping us informed and discussing any changes in her care which we all really appreciate. We cannot praise Grandholm highly enough and it’s thanks to each and every one of this amazing team that we continue to feel supported as a family. Thank you all.

Dad became a resident of Grandholm in August 2021 when covid restrictions were making it difficult for everyone. However, the staff at Grandholm make everyone welcome and gradually activities and socialising have opened up and it has become a second family to Dad. We cannot fault the care that he has
received since moving in. Nothing is ever too much trouble and we're really happy that Dad's in safe hands here. When Mum's needs changed and she needed the support of being in a care home there was no doubt in our minds that Grandholm was the best place and she became a resident in April 2022. Although Mum's needs are different from Dad's, she is also treated with the best of care, great understanding and patience from all the staff. She has settled in very well, made some friends and gets involved in activities. As a family, we are delighted that Mum and Dad are in the same care home receiving the best of care. We would have no hesitation in recommending this care home. Thank you so much.
