Richmond House is exceptional. The care that the staff deliver is second to none. There is always a staff member available for a chat and nothing is ever too much for any of them.
The residents are very well cared for and the food is delicious ( especially the fresh home baking).
We have enjoyed
a lunch with gran sitting in the sun room viewing the beautiful gardens it was amazing.
Richmond have a wide variety of social and meaningful activities that are resident led.
The staff are such a happy team that are clearly well looked after, they take great pride in their jobs and have such wonderful relationships with the residents.

As soon as the front door is opened for me, I immediately feel welcome.
All the staff are very friendly and I'm shown to where the resident is that I'm visiting.
Since she arrived at the home she has improved greatly due to the security she feels and to all the daily activities that keep her active.
On occasion, food is provided for visitors which is of excellent quality and homemade.
There's a beautiful secure garden with garden benches for residents and visitors to wander around in, making visiting a pleasure for both.

My husband received excellent care from all the staff. He enjoyed the activities that take place in the home. He had mobility problems but they were catered for very well. I was always welcomed by all the staff and management team.

My Husband, who has Alzheimers, has been a resident at Richmond House for nearly a year now. He is very happy residing here and is enjoying the company. The Staff and management are excellent with him and are always so welcoming and friendly. He has a lovely room with a gorgeous view. He enjoys the
amazing food and cakes on offer. I would highly recommend Richmond House to anyone looking for a care home.

The staff go the extra mile for the residents, especially in terms of activities. The food is excellent and all staff take time to speak with residents and encourage them to do all they can. There is always something going on, which is super. Care needs are being recorded, and residents' wishes are
being listened to.

When mum felt it time to move into residential care, Richmond House was always her number one choice.
From going to respite care to becoming a resident, the staff made the process so easy. Mum feels so much more confident being there. There is always something going on throughout the day, and the staff
are great, and always on hand to help if needed. Richmond House is a good choice.

Mum is so well looked after here. She is very happy and loves the staff, who all love her. Her room is lovely with a great view down the valley. Also, the new enclosed garden is absolutely fabulous. Mum loved her garden at home, and she is out in the garden at Richmond House every day. I could not ask
for or want a better place for her to be. It puts my mind at rest knowing that she is happy, well looked after and safe.

Mum has been cared for at Richmond House since September 2014 and it was the hardest decision to finally do, but has turned out to be the best thing to do.
The staff are endlessly caring and patient, delivering a fantastic standard of care. They strive to make this a home from home and as much as
this is possible, they do. Mum adores the staff and I can't fault them.
The new therapeutic garden is wonderful as is the whole ambience of the home. It is so good to know how safe and happy mum is there.
If there has ever been an issue, staff have been quick to inform us and steps taken to resolve the matter.
When mum had become suddenly very unwell, we were called quickly to the home and as a family, also felt cared for and luckily she made a good recovery.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.543)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.543) out of 10 for Richmond House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.943 for Richmond House is calculated as follows: ( (66 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.943
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Richmond House is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 20 registered maximum number of service users is 4, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
