Oxford House is a beautiful Edwardian family home on the border of Stoke Poges and Slough. Established by the present owners in 1982, it provides a warm, homely and safe environment for its residents. The home has a residents' lounge, gardens and dining/relaxing area.

The home welcomes visitors and would be happy to provide tours and/or 'trial periods' for potential residents and their families. They pride themselves on delivering the highest quality of care, whilst encompassing core principles of choice, dignity and respect.

Mum has been a resident at Oxford House for four years. She has always received an excellent standard of care and support. There has been no negative impact on mum from the lockdowns and restricted visiting, the communication from management and all the staff during this difficult has been faultless.
Mum always sounds well on the phone on our regular telephone calls. I would highly recommend Oxford House to anyone looking for a final care home for a loved one.

Up until her death in April 2020, my aunt received exceptional care at Oxford House. All the staff from management to the kitchen were superb. My aunt enjoyed her last few years by being looked after by the professional and dedicated staff. Utmost respect and thanks to all at Oxford House. Thank you.

First-class home. The care my mother receives is brilliant. She is well-fed and taken care of to the highest degree. When she needs antibiotics they are ordered promptly. Whenever there is any kind of problem they inform me immediately, which I appreciate immensely. The manager of the care home does
a truly superb job without any fuss at all.

As a family caring for our Mum/Nan here, albeit, for just the final 19 days of her life, we felt very warmly welcomed by the staff and especially the Registered Manager. Sadly my Mum was past appreciating the care she was receiving due to her advanced stage of dementia but we could see and we knew for
sure that not only were they doing a great job, but they were also doing their utmost to support and help her and us, in every way they could. I do believe that due to the home being managed by such a good manager, the staff are all happy and the turnover of staff is very low, which always helps the residents. Most staff have been working here for quite a number of years. We thought the activities on offer were really good and the lovely conservatory and beautiful garden were very important aspects of the home. There was a good choice of food options and no strict rules here; they would go out of their way to offer anything possible that could encourage someone to eat. Thank you all at Oxford House.

After visiting Oxford House and liking it, the transition from taking mum from hospital to settling in went amazingly. She has a lovely comfortable room and is happy, clean and well looked after. The carers and the residents are all nice and always try to have a bit of a laugh.
Lots of activities and
summer parties including a singer who knows all their favourite songs.

I was invited to view the home. Their warmth was crucial in my decision The caring attitude was evident from all staff who all worked as a team I asked managers to delay some renovation work and they were flexible making quick decisions. I was so impressed by the communication either in person, by
email, phone or texts. Staff were keen to respond to Mum as an individual and took her to a football match (a passion of hers) and a shopping trip. Staff spoke to me often about how they enjoyed working there. The kitchen staff went out of their way to try and tempt Mum to eat things she liked. Meals or snacks were provided at a time when Mum would eat them. Cash was locked away and receipts accounted for any spend. There always were many staff on duty and anyone was assisted, regardless of job title. Over the 7 weeks, the manager managed queries ably supported by the lady who is my preferred contact. On discharge, the nurse was excellent handing over medication and documents to pass on.

Although my mother sadly died on 11th January 2019, she had lived at Oxford House since her stroke in 2010. She enjoyed life there as she was so well looked after. All the staff were kind and very kind and very thoughtful. This was mums second home and we were always made welcome whatever time of day.
The entertainment was wonderful and made all the residents very happy. Christmas, Easter and other occasions were made special for all residents and relatives and we are going to miss our regular visits Testament to all management, nurses, carers, chefs and entertainment groups.

Following a 3 month stay in hospital, during which my Mum was very ill and often unresponsive, she became a resident of Oxford House. The care she received there was excellent. They turned her life around and she became the life and soul of the home. Her last months at Oxford House were happy and contented
and that was so much to do with the care she received. We are truly grateful to all the staff for making her last days such happy ones.

My father lived at Oxford House for 18 months and the care he received was excellent. There are many lovely carers/staff members at Oxford House, none from an agency, and many who have worked at Oxford House for years. Oxford House is very well run by the management, who are approachable, caring and
constantly striving for the highest standards in everything they do. One of the best things about Oxford House is that it isn't too big, therefore the staff are able to create a very homely, personalised service and they will do everything they can to ensure residents are happy. My father had many medical problems and could do very little for himself, and the staff met his needs very well. They were particularly outstanding during the last week of his life, when everyone did everything they could to ensure he was as comfortable as possible, and I was just so grateful that he was able to spend his last days at Oxford House where the staff had time to look after him properly (and not in the local, overstretched hospital).

I visited my mother in law recently and was extremely happy with the care that she is receiving at Oxford House. The Management and staff go that extra mile to make sure that the home is very welcoming and that the residents not only receive the care needed but they live life to the fullest of their
capability. The whole structure at Oxford House, from daily routines to special events organised by the home, is excellent.

My brother-in-law had a severe stroke about four years ago. He was moved from another care home to Oxford House Nursing Home. Since then we have not had any concerns about his well being. The standard of nursing, patience and kindness shown to him is exemplary.
Credit for the high standards at Oxford
House recent go to the excellent manager who can be relied on to deal with any problems that arise. Oxford House is a very good example as to how a nursing home should be run.

Mum has been here 2 and a half years. I am very satisfied. I visit my mother every day and find it a very homely environment.
It feels like I am visiting mum at her own home. The home celebrates birthdays and multi-cultural festivals. There were lovely Christmas parties and carol concerts.
Santa
visited and bought every resident their own gift.
The activities are good and in addition, they organise events. Recent events were a bhangra workshop and an opera and fine dining event. The families are offered tea, coffee and lunches.
The management door is open Monday to Sunday with an open door to relatives.
The owners take a personal interest and have done lots of refurbishment.
The owners welcome everyone with an open heart.

I have been here for five years. When I first came the staff and surroundings were lovely. A lot of the staff are still here and the place gets better and better. I feel really at home here. The management is excellent, friendly and approachable.

We have always found the staff here to be very caring and considerate. We feel that our Mother is well looked after here and that she is treated with respect.
They always have plenty of activities going on in the home to keep the residents occupied and entertained.
They always make a big fuss of

My Dad is alone in the home since my Mother died in May - Oxford House has been entirely sympathetic to both parents. My Mum was nursed very well and my Dad is fed well, tended daily in personal care, dress and encouraged to treat Oxford House as his home with plenty for him to enjoy. It is not regimented
but all the staff take part in whatever needs doing. All the staff are well suited and the management is entirely accessible and friendly.

Amanda started her career in care in June 2007, working as a carer for Oxford House Community Care. She completed her Adult Nursing Diploma training in September 2009 and joined Oxford House Nursing Home in February 2010 as a registered nurse. Amanda was promoted to deputy manager in 2018 and has been the Registered Manager since November 2020.


Amanda decided to become a nurse as she loves helping people & receives job satisfaction from her role in helping others.

I started Oxford House in 2010 as a Care Assistant, this was my first care role and the reason I went into a career in nursing. I moved out of the area and worked in other care settings but nowhere else had the teamwork, family feel or values quite like we have at Oxford House. After receiving my BSc with Hons in Nursing, I returned as a qualified nurse in 2020 and was supported to undertake a postgraduate course. I returned and was promoted to Lead Nurse in 2023 and Deputy Manager/Clinical Lead in September 2024. I have grown both personally and professionally at Oxford House and am very proud to be part of the team.

I have been a chef at Oxford House Nursing Home since 2020. I have found the job very challenging at times but very rewarding too. My passion for food, alongside working with people and for people, assisting their different needs made me change my career path and I became a chef about 6 years ago. I love my job as I relish seeing our residents enjoying the food. It's very emotional hearing words such as " the best meal ever", and "that dish was gorgeous". I love the home too. The teamwork is outstanding and it is the best place I have ever worked. There is a family atmosphere that helps you feel appreciated. My goals are always high - to provide an outstanding service to our residents and I always look for opportunities to improve my skills and knowledge.


I love politics and in my free time, I love gardening, reading books and socialising.
