We cannot find enough words to do justice to the care and support that was given to our father in his final weeks. The whole team were friendly, respectful and caring, and each person went above and beyond to make us feel that our dad's well-being and comfort were important and a priority. The atmosphere
was so warm, and the grounds are really beautiful. Thanks go to every member of staff for their input at such a hard time.

My mother was welcomed to Cherry Tree for end-of-life care. From the moment she arrived, the care team were ready and waiting making her transition as smooth as possible. All the staff knew her name and quickly made my Mother comfortable and we were made welcome. Everything was clearly explained. Throughout
her short stay, we found the standard of care and compassion exemplary. We shall be forever grateful for the support and peace at Cherry Tree. Thank you.

We came across Cherry Tree Nursing Home when looking for a home for our Dad to relocate to from hospital that could provide him with end-of-life care. From the very first phone conversation with the home manager to Dad’s final day we couldn’t have felt more supported which was really appreciated at
a difficult time. Cherry Tree is set in a peaceful location surrounded by nature but what was really meaningful to both Dad and our family was the excellent care given to him by all Cherry Tree staff, treating him with respect and humanity at all times for which he expressed his appreciation. The care and support given to our Dad and our family was second to none and we will be forever grateful.

My mother has been living at Cherry Tree Nursing Home for nearly three years with MS. Since the reopening after Covid, I feel the care home has done a good job in ensuring patients are more engaged and supported. I am happy with the care my mum receives and the carers have built a very affable relationship
with her. I would not want to move my mother anywhere else and would recommend Cherry Tree to others.

My mum was transferred to Cherry Tree Nursing Home from hospital after a fall left her unable to be cared for at him. From her arrival, she was treated with humour and dignity. She was encouraged to participate in activities, interact with other residents and generally to get the most from her stay.
Unfortunately, she suffered a stroke weeks after her arrival and I have to say the standard of 'end-of-life' care was exemplary; from the care assistants to nurses, clinical lead and to visiting doctors. Nothing was too much trouble - just what was needed. Thank you.

With the new manager on board, she has made an impact. Cherry Trees Nursing Home is a beautiful setting but now has the compliment of a good manager who has made my mum's care far better, including a daily needed visit from the manager for reassurance, an overview of her medication or simply ensuring
her meals are cut up. The manager listens with endless care and oversees action taken. The care team are just lovely and smiles through all demands made of their days' work. Special thought for the loveliest reception welcome, nothing is too much trouble, and maintenance care, whether it be a picture on the wall or a broken tap swiftly fixed. Thank you all for your care of Mum. We are most grateful.

I'd highly recommend Cherry Tree Nursing Home and have personally done so to several people. My mum moved to Cherry Tree eighteen months ago and it has transformed her life. The staff are always kind and caring and make her feel special. She is happy, settled and well cared for. Any medical needs that
arise are dealt with promptly. She has a lovely room, surrounded by her personal moment and the home is set in a beautiful, peaceful spot. Mum enjoys the range of activities available in the home but also has privacy when she wishes. I've always found the management team to be kind, helpful and attentive.
Based on our experience, my aunt also stay at Cherry Tree for extended respite following a hospital stay and was similarly well looked after. She required ongoing treatment for infected wounds and the staff were particularly conscientious at tending these so that she healed properly and could return home.

Overall, the care home is very well-run. The staff are very polite and friendly. The interaction between staff and patients is very good.
The one downside I can see is with basic toiletries. My friend feels it is very embarrassing and degrading to have a young man taking her to the toilet, changing
her pads and cleaning her up. I can understand this and feel it would be more appropriate for the male staff to deal with the men and female staff to deal with the ladies.
Reply from Rishi Dhot, Head of Strategy at Cherry Tree Nursing HomeMany thanks for your review, all our staff are passionate about the care they provide. We offer person-centred care to our residents who are involved in making their own decisions/preferences around the care they receive. There might be times where we need to use other team members in order to provide a resident’s care. We have an open-door policy for relatives and friends to come and discuss any concerns.

Our lovely mum has been a resident here since August 2022. We, as a family, are so happy with the care she receives. All carers, nurses, cooks, cleaning staff and managers are so kind and caring. I have also met the new manageress and she has lots of ideas for new activities and family days. As a family,
we were so apprehensive about Mum living at the home but it really has been the best decision for her. We are always popping in and are always welcome.

My mother was a resident for one and a half years. She had a stroke, leaving her bedbound and needed admission. She has always been treated with great care, kindness and dignity. The staff got to know her likes and dislikes and understood her problems and frailties. I always was reassured when visiting
that she was loved and helped. Despite Covid meaning staff shortages for a while, I would recommend 100%.

My father came to Cherry Tree Nursing Home for the last three months of his life from a hospice. What started as such a difficult time for all of us quickly became such a blessing. When it comes down to it what is really important about a nursing home is not the 'bling and baubles' but the care that
our loved ones receive and at Cherry Tree it was wonderful. I spent a lot of time with my father in his room and I can honestly say I never heard a raised voice, only respect and empathy for the patients. It is a busy place and not perfect all of the time but the team always listen to any concerns however small and endeavour to rectify them. Nothing was too much trouble, we installed tv and his favourite chair from home - even a room change for a better view of the beautiful garden. I want to thank them all for making the last three months of my precious dad's life happy and my time with him something to cherish - I was able to be his daughter whilst they gave him dignity and comfort.

My mother has been a resident at Cherry Tree for nearly 2 years. Although times have been extremely hard during the pandemic, during my last few visits as a designated relative, it has been lovely to see my mother smile, see her out of her room in the lounge area, and has been encouraged to hear she
has joined in with some of the activities downstairs. I would like to thank all the staff for their care and hard work. Thank you.

My stepmother spent only the last two months of her life at Cherry Tree. She was well looked after, and in her lucid moments, said as much. Whenever we asked about her, the nursing staff not only knew who she was but also had a detailed knowledge and understanding of her condition.
In these days of
COVID, we had little opportunity to see or appreciated the service provided or the opportunities that are accessible. However, we are completely satisfied with the care provided. Consequently, I have left some boxes marked as satisfactory, not out of dissatisfaction but out of lack of knowledge.
Finally, a big thank you to the staff who looked after her.

My wife, aged 91, has been resident in Cherry Tree Nursing Home for the past seven months during which time she has received care which I can only describe as being second to none. I have the impression that this home is run by management and staff [without exception] that are truly dedicated to their
work and always ready with that extra TLC which makes all the difference to an ailing patient.

For the short time my family member was in the home, he was treated with dignity, respect and compassion at all times.
The scenery at the home, with the pond and outdoor space, made the stay very welcoming and relaxing. Security could be improved, no staff at reception most of the time and no buzzer
entry at the front door.
Thank you for providing fantastic care.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.772)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.772) out of 10 for Cherry Tree Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.772 for Cherry Tree Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (252 Excellents x 5) + (47 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 311 Ratings = 4.772
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cherry Tree Nursing Home is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
