Thank you to the manager and your team. Sunnyside was allocated to my mum as an emergency hub bed. How fortunate we were, we have been so impressed that my mum has decided to stay on as a private resident.
The manager runs the home as though the residents are her family. This fantastic leadership
permeates through all the staff. My mum always feels listened to, and is well looked after. The nursing staff are experienced and responsive and have a great working relationship with the local GP who visits once a week. They even have nursing students- one of whom offered to sit with my mum when she realised she was distressed at me leaving. The food is home cooked and delicious, and the entertainment team are holistic in their approach.
Thank you for giving my mum another chapter in her life, where she feels safe, listened to and looked after with kindness. I could not look after her better!

After looking at nearly 40 care/ nursing home we chose Sunnyside which is one of the best things we have ever done.
We fell in love with the atmosphere immediately and we were so very right
They do little if anything wrong! The ambience, the loving care, the activities, the facilities, the food everything
is just so very, very good. No excuse for celebrating is missed - Christmas and other religious events, Valentine Day. Every thing
My daughter was 60 last year and they had an 80s theme party which was terrific with all staff dressing and dancing accordingly ETC The party even impressed her son and her carer from
Surrey! It was truly terrific! Other homes should take a leaf out of their book!
Their name suits them to a T, you can ask them anything anytime and they get a full and sincere 5 stars plus rating!!!

So happy that Mum has got a place in Sunnyside Nursing Home. My mum although has Alzheimer's seems so happy when we visit. She loves singing and the staff encourages that. I cannot fault the staff, they are all so kind and caring and that reflects on the residents, they all seem so happy and settled.

My mother has been a resident through the NHS hub bed service whilst awaiting full assessment for her care needs going forward.
The staff have been fantastic, very friendly, patient with my mother, and I can't fault the care given. I have been kept up to date on my mother's health and care. The property
is lovely and the garden is enjoyable to sit in. Thanks to the staff for their hard work!

It took a while for Dad to settle in but with the help of all the staff he has settled in very nicely. All the staff are very kind and understand his particular needs. The nurses keep an eye on his various ‘conditions’ and treat promptly accordingly. It is nice to see Dad so comfortable in this environment.

Mum has been here at Sunnyside since January 2023. We have been very happy with Mum's overall care. The staff are always smiling and friendly and keep us well informed where necessary. The bedrooms are a good size and we are able to add our own finishing touches. We turn up at different times of the
day and Mum is always presentable.

Had a lovely visit to see my mother with my wife. Initially she was sat in the main lounge watching television. Seemed to be content. We were then able to visit her room and talk and eat chocolate. Staff all very friendly, cheerful and helpful.

The staff are very efficient and very friendly. I am very impressed by their diligence and care to detail. Always smiling and making a great effort to keep their spirit happy. Probably overworked, my friend would like to go to the toilet more often but time is pushed for the staff and they do their
best. Very impressed.

I am absolutely amazed at how well my mum is looked after at Sunnyside. They care for all her needs and keep me advised of any issues. Mum has dementia and does not talk very much, but she smiles and gives you a thumbs up. I am able to visit anytime and the staff are extremely welcoming. Mum seems happy
and I know that she takes part in all the activities. She can’t remember days out but it is lovely to see the photographs. I hope that if I get to Mum's age and need to live in a care home that they have room for me.

What can I say!
My dad has been a resident for just 5 weeks. The management and carers are absolutely amazing - They all genuinely love my dad and treat us like family.
Nothing is too much trouble - they interact and treat the residents with dignity and respect, Everything is spotlessly clean.
One
of the staff is good with a guitar and went to his room and had a sing-a-long with him.
They absolutely spoil him!
It was his 87th birthday today, the effort they made for him to make his day special was simply outstanding- a huge cake, cards and prizes - balloons and banners in his room and his door. The manager and staff get involved in the activities, even having a good dance! They are always cheerful and happy and greet you with a smile. What has been a difficult time adjusting to my dad’s illness- I cannot thank the staff enough - I highly recommend this nursing home - I can go home and sleep knowing my dear dad is safe and well looked after
Thank you to everyone!

The care home looked after our mother for some months until her recent passing. We were always welcomed by the staff. We could completely entrust Mum's care to them. Always kind, thoughtful and caring. In Mum's final days, they were so considerate and helpful to her needs and dignity as well as ours.
Outstandingly wonderful team to whom we shall always be grateful.

My mum was moved from the hospital to Sunnyside on August 22nd and was there until she passed on the 7th of October.
When Mum moved in, she had oesophagal and bladder cancer, and her condition was terminal. She needed medical care she would not have received at home.
Because Mum was so sick, she
mostly stayed in her room on the ground floor, which was nice and peaceful and had a lovely view of the garden.
The staff at Sunnyside were amazing. We could not have asked for any more than the care and attention they gave to Mum. I will forever be grateful for the tenderness and care they showed to my mum, even as the end approached and she was unconscious.
There were also always so kind and considerate to my brother, sister and me when we went to visit, and approaching the end, they allowed me to spend day after day just sitting with Mum for 12 hours at a time.

My aunt was a resident in Sunnyside for 3 to 4 months only, as she was in a temporary bed until I could get her a placement in a permanent nursing home nearer to where the family lived. The care my aunt had was very good. I was very impressed by the standard of care given to my aunt. I was delighted
by the way the carers and nurses treated my aunt and myself whenever I visited. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and every aspect of care I could not fault. I was always notified of any change to my aunt's care, even when she developed a chest infection and became poorly. I was made welcome whenever I visited. There was a nice, homely and friendly atmosphere within the care home. I was unable to find any fault with Sunnyside care home, as I work within the profession myself. I was so grateful to the manager, nurses and carers for all the care, kindness and support they gave to not only my aunt but myself as well.

My mother spent ten months in Sunnyside until her death at the age of 102.
Everything about Sunnyside is first-class. The staff seem so happy, always singing and laughing together as they go about their work. This gives the home a lovely atmosphere.
Families are welcomed and kept informed. The staff
treat the residents with respect and love. Each resident is treated as an individual, and the staff go out of their way to provide activities and entertainment.
At the end of her stay at Sunnyside, when she needed end-of-life care, we were very pleased with how they kept her comfortable and peaceful.
We are so grateful to them for their professionalism and care.

My mother went to Sunnyside Care Home after a long period in hospital. Although I personally didn’t select the home, I can’t express enough how delighted I was with every aspect of Mum’s care and development while she stayed there. I would recommend it on every level. Every member of staff was lovely.
Kind and attentive. The senior staff members couldn’t have done more to help me with friendly, reassuring connective communication. The home was clean, welcoming, and my visiting was encouraged (subject to covid testing). Mum was encouraged to walk with help with the help of physios, and she spent time with other residents in the day room too. Food was of a high standard. A few of the meals she had, have now been requested back home! Mum is now home after 6 weeks at Sunnyside and continuing to thrive. I can’t thank Sunnyside Care Home enough for the caring and nurturing respite that Mum received. Nothing was too much trouble. A really excellent experience!

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.595) out of 10 for Sunnyside Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.770 for Sunnyside Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (115 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 148 Ratings = 4.77
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sunnyside Nursing Home is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
