My husband stayed at The Willows for 2 weeks respite to give me a rest as his dementia has deteriorated and my health suffered.
He was extremely well looked after. The food was excellent and he was very comfortable. It was the first time he had been in residential care so it was important that he was
well looked after. Thank you.

We are extremely happy that your husband enjoyed his time with us at The Willows Care Centre, especially as it was his first time experiencing care. I will pass your complimentary feedback onto our team who I know will appreciate your kind words.

My father has lived at The Willows just over four years so we have seen many changes. Currently, the care that he receives is of a very high standard and he is treated with dignity and respect every day. The staff are always happy to discuss any queries that we may have and always put our minds at rest
and we know that they put dad's needs first.

Room was pleasant. Cannot comment on last two domains as we were not there long enough. Our friend looked comfortable, very well cared for and was happy. The staff we met were wonderful.
The room a bit warm but that is our friends choice. Thank you for what you are doing.

Lots of changes in the home such as decoration and the management team is very positive.

Welcoming staff who work their hardest to ensure top quality care to all residents. Lovely atmosphere for residents and families. Couldn't fault this home at all. It's lovely to see all residents cared for and respect given to each individual as all there needs are different. Very homely atmosphere
and a lot of support available as this has been a hard time for our family. Defiantly a 5 star home!

The staff work as a team and treat each resident as an individual, my dad has increased his appetite, gained some mobility and interacts well with all of the staff, he has settled very well at The Willows. Credit must be given to the Matron/Manager who ensures the smooth, safe and happy running of
the Nursing Home.
My dad arrived at The Willows with a package that involved an input from Adult Social Services that required extra staffing, this they took on board and put it into place with no problem.
Although the building and decor could be improved I would rather forego that for the exceptional standard of care that is offered to residents, the number one factor in choosing a Nursing/Care Home is the staff and it's management and this one is a clear outright winner in my opinion.
In the present climate choosing a home for a loved one is very hard, all I can say is that dad is safe, he is happy and has a great rapport with the staff, if my dad is happy then I am happy and I hope this helps anyone seeking a place for their loved one.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.500)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.500) out of 10 for Willows Care Southern Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Willows Care Southern Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (28 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 32 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.625 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willows Care Southern Ltd is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.375
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
