If you chose a care home based in England, you may be eligible for NHS Funded Nursing Care (FNC), which helps cover the cost of nursing. This is worth £254.06 per week and is usually paid directly to the care home.
Visiting is welcome anytime of day without appointment, if visiting after 8pm though please ring the home and let the team know.
There is small car park located to the side of Byron Lodge, parking is also available on the road outside for a maximum of 1 hour.

We work hard to try and treat every resident and their family and friends as "family" and we base our practices very much on how we would ourselves like to be treated. The Crownwood Healthcare Group is ably led by our very experienced Director Of Care Services, Gillian Burnham, who has been with the Crownwood Healthcare Group since 2015. Gill is a First Level Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience in care home management. She has managed local and national homes in line with all CQC regulations, building good relationships with local services and the wider multi-disciplinary teams. Gill holds a City and Guilds Registered Manager’s Award and keeps up to date with local and national initiatives to ensure our services are current in thinking, approach and practice.
Dianne has been with the Crownwood group since May 2023 and became Home manager in September 2024, Dianne is a Registered Nurse and has over 14 years of experience, Dianne has worked within many hospital settings and also forensic nursing, Dianne has a passion for elderly care and has all of our residents needs at heart, Dianne is looking forward to building and supporting the nursing teams skills to ensure that our residents receive the best care possible.
Chim is a registered nurse and in September 2024 moved from her role as Clinical lead to Deputy Manager of Byron Lodge, Chim has a passion for EOL care and person-centred care for the elderly, within her role as deputy Chim works closely with the support of our nursing team and assists with Dianne the Home manager in the day to day running of the home.
