Fewcott House is a Care Home with Nursing, registered for 40 clients who require 24 hour nursing care or not, either long or short term, or for day care. The home is for clients of either sex, particularly the elderly, those who suffer from Parkinson's disease, dementia or mental disorder, and people with Learning Disabilities and/or dementia or people that just need help in the day to day activities.

Offer tailored holidays designed around an individual's hobbies and interests, including a wide variety of therapies & activities. These can be booked ahead to allow carers to plan their own breaks.

The home's expertise in palliative care was recognised by Oxfordshire PCT when they piloted a Rapid Response service to cut down hospital admissions for patients on the End of Life pathway, and alleviate stress for patients and their families.

Since first opening in 1985, they have striven to provide the best possible nursing care for each individual resident, within a home-like, family environment. This impressive manor house dates from 1680, and is set in rural surroundings with a stream flowing through three acres of mature and level gardens.

Situated in the village of Fewcott (also known as Ardley-with-Fewcott), approximately 4 miles north of Bicester in rural north Oxfordshire, easily accessible by road, being barely ½ a mile from junction 10 of the M40 [for SatNav please use OX27 7NZ]

I found the home to be very nice. The grounds are lovely in the Spring and Summer with lots of wildlife. The home itself is nice and clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Meals are good and they are happy to change the menu if they can. The decoration of the home is very good with various
different themes.

The staff and management are always friendly and available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your relative, and also any issues or concerns are dealt with dignity and care. It is a beautiful home, with a very well tended large garden in a very nice area of Oxfordshire.

My wife was diagnosed as having Alzheimer's in 2011 and has regressed considerably since that date. She suffered a fall in May this year and was taken by ambulance to hospital. The social services team there allocated her to Fewcott House once it was confirmed that no bones were broken as she does require
assistance with normal functions. The staff at Fewcott House do attend to their work with compassion and assiduously. Some of the residents suffer from old manifestations of dementia but all are treated as if part of a family with care and very little recrimination.

Not only are we still enjoying being classed as outstanding according to our CQC Report, and are delighted to stay COVID free during this heartbreaking pandemic, but we also have some further exciting news to share with you.


Fewcott House have been accredited with the Gold Standards Framework Award. The aim of the Gold Standards Framework Award is to enable a ‘gold standard’ of care to help people live well before they die, and to die well in the place and the manner of their choosing.


There are 128 Care Homes in Oxfordshire and we are one of only 5 that have achieved this!


As a thank you to all our staff and to celebrate with our residents, this week we have enjoyed eating fish and chips out of the paper from the local van, like the good old days and have had the ice-cream man visit weekly to keep us all cool in this somewhat unpredictable weather!


Well done everybody, teamwork makes the dream work and we look forward to welcoming everybody to celebrate with us when it’s safe to do so.
