With 35 residents, The Devonshire offers a close-knit community where residents can enjoy the comfort and familiarity of a homely setting alongside professional, high-quality care. Every individual is recognised for who they are, with care tailored to personal needs, preferences and wellbeing.
Set within beautiful scenic grounds, The Devonshire is a characterful, traditional building that provides a peaceful and homely environment. The home has been thoughtfully adapted over the years to support residents' needs, while retaining the warmth and character of an older-style building. A personalised approach to care and support helps residents with their mobility and day-to-day needs, promoting as much independence, comfort and dignity as possible.
Each resident has an individual care plan, regularly reviewed by one of the in-house nurses to reflect changing health and personal needs. A dedicated key worker provides continuity and familiarity, helping residents and their families feel confident that care remains consistent, personal and responsive.
There is also plenty to enjoy beyond day-to-day care. A varied programme of activities, entertainment and social events gives residents opportunities to pursue interests, enjoy new experiences, make friends and stay connected with those around them. Welcoming communal spaces and beautiful grounds provide opportunities to relax, socialise and enjoy time together.
At The Devonshire Nursing Home, professional care meets the warmth, character and familiarity of a family home, creating a place where residents can feel safe, supported, valued and truly at home.
Our fees are tailored to each individual, reflecting their level of care, nursing needs, and room type. We provide clear, personalised fee guidance from the outset, with no hidden costs.
Our standard fees include accommodation, meals, personal care, nursing support (where applicable), and access to all core services within the home.
Additional services such as hairdressing and private chiropody are not included within standard fees and are charged separately. Telephones are available in all rooms; residents are responsible for call usage costs, although connection is already in place.
We welcome both privately funded and local authority placements and can support families with funding pathways, including Continuing Healthcare (CHC) and third-party top-ups where applicable.
We are able to support urgent admissions, including hospital discharges and short-term placements, and can typically complete assessments within 24 hours. Our team works proactively with families and professionals to ensure a smooth, timely transition into the home.

The variety of activities organised by the activity coordinator is incredible! She is a true star, and her imagination and dedication know no limits! To see our parents engaging/being actively encouraged to participate is lovely. We know the activity coordinator has won awards - we are not surprised! She uses social platforms and technology to their best - sharing with us the day-to-day activities and sheer fun they have! Dad enjoyed his Boys Day Out last week - including fish and chips! Then this is shared via our phones so we can see and continue to feel part of their lives. We are so grateful - thank you to each and every one of you at the Devonshire Nursing Home!
What a warm and friendly place. I know that my elderly mum has the best care possible. There is always someone at hand to talk to if you have any questions. I certainly would recommend this home. The rooms are well equipped and there is a stunning view looking out the back to the huge gardens.

I am passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents are treated with dignity and respect, where laughter is heard every day, and where people can continue to live fulfilling lives.
I am a very hands-on and approachable leader, and I take real pride in being part of the day-to-day life of the home. Building meaningful relationships with residents and their families is incredibly important to me — taking the time to understand each person, supporting them through challenges, and celebrating the little moments that make a big difference.
For me, it’s not just about care plans and routines — it’s about people. Seeing someone settled, smiling, and feeling at ease is what makes this role so rewarding. I also feel strongly about supporting my team, creating a positive atmosphere where staff feel valued, confident, and proud of the care they provide.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and spending quality time with friends and family.
