Fees at Compton House start from £1,800 per week, with the final cost carefully evaluated based on several key factors to ensure fair and transparent pricing. The individual care needs of each resident form the primary consideration, as the level of support required varies from person to person. Additionally, the size of the room and whether it features an en-suite bathroom are taken into account when determining the weekly rate.

The management team at Compton House is committed to providing families with a clear breakdown of costs during the assessment process, ensuring that the fee structure reflects the personalised care and accommodation provided to each resident.

were reassured and also well looked after. Compton House provides a warm, supportive, peaceful sanctuary with lovely staff ensuring residents are happy. Thank you.

I cannot express how relieved & delighted I am to know that my mum is able to be fitted in as a respite resident at Compton House. I know that she is safe & most importantly, cared for to the highest standard. She is so happy there, after being nervous about going. She thinks all the staff are kind
& I witness this every time I visit. The food is excellent & they've increased mum's interest in food again.
Reply from Vincent Hook, Registered Manager at Compton House Christian Nursing HomeThank you Claire for your kind words and support for our wonderful team. I'm pleased to see that your mum had a very good time at Compton House.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The resident spent several years at Compton House Christian Nursing Home. These were very happy years for her because of the excellent standard of care, we as a family were able to live our own lives, obviously with regular visits. The quality of food was very good, freshly prepared and a choice for
each meal. And those cakes! As she became frailer, the fact that it was a nursing home meant all her medical needs were met. She died with dignity and the staff were remarkable. Excellent in every aspect.

My mother was a resident of Compton House for 13 years and originally had always supported the home. It is a 'home from home', the staff are wonderful, kind, caring and professional. The comfort and ambience of the home are superb and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are delightful in all
departments. I consider them friends. My mother was always treated with respect, dignity and love too. The doctor usually comes in once a week and this is of great value. Volunteers come in regularly to help with the garden offering services and adding to the sense of normality.

My father has settled in very well, he finds the staff friendly and caring. He says the food is excellent and is very happy with his room. He enjoys the varies activity programme and is never bored. It's a happy atmosphere and our family are very appreciative of the level of care he is afforded. We
know he is being really well looked after.
Our only slight frustrations come from visiting rules and restrictions which may have been a legacy of Covid. We would love to be able to see him in communal areas, instead of just his room, and be able to meet his new friends.

My aunt received excellent care from the moment she went to live in Compton House until the day she passed away peacefully and with dignity just before her 102nd birthday.
I was always kept fully informed of her care in an open and professional manner.
All the staff and their manager are kind, patient
and caring people. The home is clean, comfortable and homely. Every effort is made to encourage independence.
I couldn’t fault anything.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.217) out of 10 for Compton House Christian Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.667 for Compton House Christian Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.667
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.55 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Compton House Christian Nursing Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 = 3.55
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 27 registered maximum number of service users is 5.4, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
