Fees at Compton House start from £1,700 per week, with the final cost carefully evaluated based on several key factors to ensure fair and transparent pricing. The individual care needs of each resident form the primary consideration, as the level of support required varies from person to person. Additionally, the size of the room and whether it features an en-suite bathroom are taken into account when determining the weekly rate.

The management team at Compton House is committed to providing families with a clear breakdown of costs during the assessment process, ensuring that the fee structure reflects the personalised care and accommodation provided to each resident.

After 3 to 4 weeks of care, the senior nurses will complete an assessment and application form if they feel that the resident qualifies for NHS Funded Nursing Care. If Successful, the NHS Funded Nursing Care is paid directly to Compton House, and the resident's weekly fee is reduced accordingly, providing valuable financial support to eligible residents and their families.

As soon as we walked into Compton House we felt welcomed and comfortable. We met Vincent and he showed us around. The staff were all friendly. The residents looked happy and the house and gardens were beautiful. Vincent and Shilja visited our dear friend at home and she enjoyed their company and the information they shared. They were compassionate and reassuring. Our friend moved into Compton House and the care and support she received was fabulous, beyond our expectations. The staff were so caring, her room bright and cheery, her needs met in everyway. We are so happy to have found Compton House and cannot recommend it and all the staff highly enough. Thank you.

Compton House has been incredibly helpful in everything they have done in providing accommodation for my Sister--and meeting all of her needs. She is exceptionally happy in the Home, loves the food, the view of the garden and the Christian ethos which the Home and all of the staff radiate. It is lovely to know that she is being so well careful for..

Compton House is a very happy place. The building is very clean. It smells nice not of elderly people. The care staff are happy and smile. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is good. Lots of homemade cakes and cups of tea. My friend is very happy living there. Compton House is part of the Lindfield community. My mother lived there in the 2000's for a while. All the churches are involved - gardening, etc, entertaining. I am very happy to review Compton House because I think it is a good place.

The 10 day respite care was overwhelmingly kind, attentive and helpful. Staff always making time for resident. Food was very good, plenty of it. The chair was more comfortable than the bed. Bathroom next door, not ensuite was good, assisted at all times by able and friendly staff always ready to help. Satisfactory facilities because of building work.

I joined my husband, who has dementia. I came here October 2025. Very impressed with his care. I came back April I have been as happy as possible on leaving ones own home. The care has been wonderful and a change in the management made a huge and definite improvement. Also the food. The staff are extremely caring & efficient and the Christian ethos is upheld. Services taken by local churches. The activities are varied & provide different interests so one is not bored. Also lovely garden.

I have lived in Compton House since mid June that is 7 years and almost 9 months now. I really enjoy my life here. Every person on the staff is obliging, kindly and supportive. I look forward to each day as our wellbeing Hazel arranges many interesting activities. We have musical performers on cello, piano, accordian (a flutist & violinist) a harpist, and art & crafts lady, an archeologist giving talks, a saxophonist, guitarist, seated exercises one 1/2 hour session every week, magician, 4 lady sax players.

I frequently visit friends in Compton House and find it to be a place where residents are very well cared for. It's in the centre of the village, well known in the community and visitors are always made welcome. The staff show kindness, care and attention to individuals' needs and wishes. There's a wide variety of events and activities to suit all tastes and temperaments; for example, regular performances by musicians and singers, poetry reading, games and quizzes. I recently visited around Valentine's day and saw the tables in the dining room beautifully decorated. Members of the local churches offer regular services which residents can choose to attend. My friends clearly enjoy these. Birthdays are warmly celebrated.

Review from Tom A (Son of Resident) published on 30 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother has now been a resident of Compton House for a year, having had to enter residential care due to health concerns. She choose the place because of recommendations by her friends and because of the Christian foundation of the home. It took a few months for her to settle in but she now refers to it as her home & her family and feels she has chosen the most suitable place.
My interaction with the staff has always inspired confidence. They are remarkably caring and treat my mother with good grace & humour. They take notice of her needs and encourage and support her to lead the best life she can, whether it is with social events or with her health needs.
Whenever I've asked for help for my mother I often find the nurses have already taken steps to resolve her needs. If not, they act promptly or offer a deeper understanding of what ails her.

She's happy with Compton House and I'm relieved that she is being looked after as well as I could wish

I cannot express how relieved & delighted I am to know that my mum is able to be fitted in as a respite resident at Compton House. I know that she is safe & most importantly, cared for to the highest standard. She is so happy there, after being nervous about going. She thinks all the staff are kind & I witness this every time I visit. The food is excellent & they've increased mum's interest in food again.

Overall, Compton House is an excellent Christian nursing home, and my cousin is extremely content there. There has recently been a change in management; hence only ticked satisfactory'. My cousin has a small room, hence the 'good' for his room + facilities. The staff are always extremely welcoming and kind. My cousin is looked after extremely well. The food is excellent. The home is always very clean and comfortable. The woman who arranges the activities is totally wonderful in every way. Thank you so much Compton House.

The resident spent several years at Compton House Christian Nursing Home. These were very happy years for her because of the excellent standard of care, we as a family were able to live our own lives, obviously with regular visits. The quality of food was very good, freshly prepared and a choice for each meal. And those cakes! As she became frailer, the fact that it was a nursing home meant all her medical needs were met. She died with dignity and the staff were remarkable. Excellent in every aspect.
