The staff are without exception very friendly and helpful, and some are particularly caring with my mother, and make her feel special. Food is very good. The rooms in the new wing are spacious and light, with doors onto a patio or terrace. Staff sometimes seem rather overstretched, and getting dressed or undressed can be rushed and/or late in coming. The activities programme is very well run and offers something every day.

As Clinical Lead at Fairlight, I feel incredibly privileged to work in a role where compassion, leadership, and clinical expertise come together to truly make a difference.
What I love most about my job is the ability to improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable individuals in our society. Many of our residents live with complex needs, cognitive decline, and at times, limited ways to communicate.
In my leadership role, I find great fulfilment in guiding and supporting my team. I strive to create a culture rooted in compassion, collaboration, and continuous learning. Watching staff grow in confidence and capability — and knowing that translates into better care for our residents — is incredibly rewarding.
I am also passionate about advocacy, especially for those who can no longer advocate for themselves. Ensuring every resident’s voice is heard, their preferences are respected, and their care is delivered with integrity.

As Family Liaison at Fairlight Nursing Home, I serve as the key point of contact between residents, their loved ones, and our care team, ensuring open communication, support, and trust every step of the way. My role is centred around building meaningful relationships with families and them being informed, supported and involved throughout their loved one’s care journey.
In addition to my liaison responsibilities, I also oversee the home’s Activities Program. I work closely with residents and staff to design and deliver engaging, inclusive activities that support emotional well-being, cognitive stimulation, and social connection. From one-to-one moments, seeing a resident light up during an activity they enjoy, to our group activities and entertainers. I strive to create a vibrant and supportive environment where every resident feels seen, heard, and valued.
