Truscott Manor is a lovely home, staff are friendly and always keep me informed in case of any problems or challenging circumstances. When I visit my sister, she is usually quiet but content. Her care is very good. My ultimate desire is for her to feel and be happy. I would willingly recommend this home to my colleagues and friends.

Mum was a resident at Truscott Manor for a year and a half. During this time, she was always treated with kindness, respect and professionalism by all members of staff. The nursing home is well run by the nursing managers, who are always available, if you need them. The environment is homely and not corporate, with beautiful dining rooms and gardens which are well looked after. My brother also fell ill during this time and he too chose Truscott Manor for his care. His needs were complex and the carers and nurses were all exceptionally well-trained and capable to look after him. Again, their kindness and professionalism prevailed. Thank you Truscott for all your help, it is so much appreciated and your staff are one in a million.

The team are doing a great job, Mum now knows the carers by name and is settled. Her care needs have changed and developed and the staff have been very good at adapting in just the right measure to help Mum feel supported but not overly 'fussed over'. The team have a good relationship with the local GP and assist with getting involvement when required, to keep medication appropriate avoiding over medication or just adding new by encouraging reviews.

The home offers good space and has lovely grounds with wildlife that the residents can see all year round from the lounge or enjoy in warmer weather. Mum has also got to know many of the other residents and has her routines with different groups.

My mother is in Truscott Manor Home following a number of falls which meant she could not look after herself. She is nearly 98, completely deaf with poor eyesight and a type 1 diabetic. I am very pleased with the care she is receiving and the staff are very professional and helpful. If there are any problems, they contact me very quickly. She seems quite happy there and I can recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a caring home for their relations.

My Aunt spent a short time at Truscott Manor. We were so impressed with every member of the staff team who were, without exception, warm and welcoming. My Aunt spoke highly of the team. Their kindness made all the difference. Because of the pandemic, we didn’t get to experience the building, food etc.

Mum was in an end-of-life care situation and we were very grateful for the care that she received. Although Mum did not want to leave home - she was treated with dignity and looked after as best as she could be, given her illness.

I was completely satisfied with the care and support my mother received at Truscott Manor. I was also completely happy with the way the home dealt with the virus issues. I was confident Mum was safe and in good hands. Also, the support I received from the carers and staff.

My parents and my aunt all received highly professional care and nursing in the last years of their lives. In addition, they were treated with genuine kindness and friendliness. My aunt came straight from hospital having had an operation for a broken hip. No problem for the staff. So much better than going for rehab in yet another hospital. Truscott Manor is the next best thing to being cared for in their own home.

I and her son found Truscott Manor a very quiet and peaceful home to live in. Although not brand new and sparkly; the home was warm and welcoming. All the staff were very friendly to us, and her visitors. She loved it there, and nothing was too much trouble. We were notified when her time was near. She died so peacefully with her son and me with her.

I live 150 miles from Truscott, so unlikely to recommend. No complaints about the home. My mother has been in the home, over three years. She complains often but seems happy to be there. She does not have many people to chat with, apart from carers, who are often busy. One complaint she has is, there are not many carers for the number of residents.

Following the Covid outbreak, my father was required to leave the hospital where he was in the rehabilitation ward, but extremely unwell. He did not have Covid. Truscott Manor accepted my father as a resident for palliative care. It was not expected he would live beyond three months, but due to the dedication, kind and caring attention of the staff, I am delighted that he has surpassed everyone's expectations and is walking, feeding himself and is better now than when he first went into the hospital. All credit to the staff, they have worked wonders! Despite my not being able to see my father as regularly as I would have liked over the last year, the staff have endeavoured where possible to allow residents to have visitors in a safe environment, and their open day last summer where residents and family were able to come together for a distanced social event in the garden was delightful. My experience of the home so far has been all positive.

Thank you so much, Pam. We, at Truscott Manor, treat our residents as our family. Not only do we provide physical assistance, but we consider a holistic approach to care. We truly appreciate your acknowledgement of the staff's hard work and dedication. We promise to continue providing the best care for your family.

My Spouse resided at Truscott Manor Care Home from August 2019 until she passed away on April 2nd 2020. With advanced vascular dementia, she required full-time nursing care. She received the best care from a professional dedicated team who were attentive and carried out their duties with sensitivity and respect for the dignity of all in their care. We as a close family were so happy in choosing Truscott where nothing seemed too much trouble and every member of the team played their part in making the residents part of the Truscott family. The house and grounds are well suited for the caring of those with limited mobility.

My 104-year-old mother was accepted by Truscott Manor at short notice for a 6-week temporary placement bed by the local authority. She was given a great welcome by the staff on the day and allocated a very comfortable and suitable ground floor room, with excellent views out onto the wonderful garden and grounds which she liked very much. Throughout her stay, she was made to feel very much at home and all the staff we met were very attentive and caring towards her and nothing was too much trouble. She was certainly well looked after, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone that requires such a service provider. A special thank you to the manager and a member of staff who were especially helpful to us, and to all the other wonderful staff on the team.

Review from Kenneth L (Relative of Resident) published on 11 February 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our family visited several care homes before placing our stepmother at Truscott. In spite of the older appearance of the property, the warmth of the staff and care shown are really good. We visit regularly at different times and have never found any treatment towards our relative anything but kind. They always treat her and us with respect. The rooms are kept clean and there are never any unpleasant smells greeting you. The laundry department is to be congratulated too. Since our relative is spoon fed and unable to communicate clearly, it is hard to pass judgement on food but we check her chart regularly and she seems to be eating most of what she is offered. The smells from the kitchen at lunchtime often make me feel hungry though so that must be good.

My mother has been a resident at Truscott Manor since mid-2018 and I was extremely lucky to be offered a place for her there as I know that places there are always in demand. I visit her regularly but staff are totally unaware of when I am going to arrive. I always receive a warm welcome, the home is always very clean and there are never any unpleasant smells. The staff really do go out of their way to do everything they possibly can for my mother, the care they provide is second to none and I can't thank them enough for everything they do for her as she has extremely limited mobility. The meals are good, the room is always clean and tidy and staff regularly come in and talk with her when they pass the door as she is confined to her bed much of the time.

If you are looking for a nursing home for someone, I would recommend Truscott Manor without any hesitation whatsoever and if I ever need to be cared for in a nursing home, I honestly hope that it would be at Truscott Manor.
