Oakwood House is a nursing home that offers complex care specialising in mental health.

Whether it’s reducing anxiety or pro-actively managing pain, knowing every resident individually lets staff deliver friendly, support that’s always one step ahead.

Oakwood House employs its own fully-qualified nursing care team.
Registered general and mental health nurses work alongside specially trained care staff. They ensure continuity of care, 24 hours a day.

Set in extensive private gardens with the family-style living accommodation spans three individually-themed units: Clover, Honeysuckle and Lavender.

Mostly at ground level, all units offer private bedrooms, each with its own en-suite toilet, walk-in shower, nurse call system and infra-red movement monitor. Residents with mobility challenges can transfer safely with ease thanks to ceiling hoists in all rooms and lounges.

My partner has been at Oakwood House for 6 months now and although unsure at the start of his stay am now 100% certain he is in the right place. The staff are a lovely group of people who show so much love and quality care for the residents but also have time for the relatives which I find really nice.
I feel very comfortable visiting here although, in need of a bit of TLC, the new manager is starting to get things done. I would certainly recommend the home for anyone who needs the specialist care the home provides.

We visited my great-great-uncle this week.
What a change, lovely welcome to Oakwood when arrived. New administrator welcomed me what a lovely cheerful person.


Home is having a bit of makeover, there is a poster stating that they are decorating and we can give opinions.


Still a bit more TLC required

however front with flowers in reception etc is a really nice touch.


Home manager appears really passionate.
Was on the way to an emergency bell when I arrived. This was nice to see.


Not like bigger companies, a mix of new staff and old has injected new life into the home.


Activities - the lady is so lovely and also was lovely seeing the big lounge used more.

I would like to highly recommend that if anyone is looking for care, homely environment. Feels like it’s like visiting your loved one at their home prior to being admitted.


Carers that care, don’t look stressed, look like they enjoy their job.


Could do with a bit of TLC on the environment but

all said and done that does not affect the happy environment and care given.

I don’t often get down to Suffolk
However, I did pop in, a lot of changes since my last visit. A new manager who is a bubbly person opening the door. Nice to see that a manager is in at the weekend plus when I visited before I went home after 16.00 hours.
The front entrance looks so nice not cluttered
like it was.
I would suggest some pictures and a bit of a freshen up with decorating. However, the staff appear to be far happier.
The change is so good really pleased to have visited.
One member of staff who I meet for the first time was so polite, the interaction between residents and her was lovely to watch.

I have visited a friend first time in a long time.
What a change from last year.
The new home manager opened the door with smiles, more approachable and appears to care.
Home is looking better, staff smiling, improvement noticed, well done to team.

We cannot thank all the staff at Oakwood House enough for the care and love they gave to my dad. Everyone went beyond our expectations, It's not just a job to the staff like we found in other places. The family could relax knowing how well he was being looked after. So if your looking for a home for
your relative or loved one we cannot recommend Oakwood House enough. All the staff are fantastic.
