I'm so glad we were able to find a room at Glebe House for our mum and dad! From the start of the process securing a room, to the present when they are now in situ and both well-settled, we have been so pleased with all aspects of the move. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, whatever their role
in the home, and all have been extremely helpful and understanding of Mum and Dad's individual needs. Their room is spacious and clean, the menu is varied and there have been no complaints from Mum and Dad to date re the food! Communication between the home and ourselves has been excellent from day one and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. The building and grounds are very well cared for and the activity schedule is amazing - so much choice catering for so many different people with so many different interests. Well done all at Glebe and thank you for making our lives so much easier with the knowledge that Mum and Dad are in a secure place and so well looked after 24/7.

My mother was happy and well cared for. Staff very kind and affectionate and mum was thrilled about a shopping trip she had been taken on. When I arrived she had been calling for help to get to the toilet for a while. Mum was looking forward to the afternoon’s entertainment.

We had previous experience with Glebe House when our aunt was lucky enough to have lived here for several years in the first decade of this century. We knew that the personnel would have changed but hoped that the good practice that was there was the same. We were absolutely delighted when a place here
was offered and, as we'd hoped and thought, Glebe House was every bit as we remembered - friendly, kind and welcoming staff and comfortable rooms. Couldn't ask for better.

Glebe House is a very happy, friendly care home, it feels like one big family. Both my parents came here, my Dad is still a resident, my mum was very well cared for and her end of life was dignified and peaceful our whole family were included an looked after. Dad is always happy and well looked after.
They have been exceptional through the pandemic.

My Mum loves Glebe House! The staff are very friendly and it is no trouble if you ask for their help. Mum moved in during the first lockdown so I have never been inside and am unable to comment on the food or cleanliness etc, but saying that it appears Mum often has second helpings so the food must
be pretty good! Whilst it has been frustrating not being able to visit properly as much as I would like, I recognise that the rigorous rules has meant there has not been any outbreaks of Covid for which I am eternally grateful. The range of activities that are arranged every day is amazing and I am sure Mum has been having far more fun in Glebe House than we have during the lockdowns! I was really touched when they arranged to send a Birthday card for my significant Birthday earlier this year and that Mum had helped make it. The staff have also sent out videos of the sing-alongs and dancing, and Mum has been in the middle of things joining in.

My mum has lived in Glebe House for two and a half years and she has been shown nothing but kindness and patience. All the staff are welcoming and friendly and there are some great activities. Dad has really improved and continued to thrive in the 18 months he has been a resident at Glebe House. The level of care he has received has given him confidence that his needs will be properly met. And the stimulation from the activity coordinators has encouraged him very successfully to pick up and
further previous pastimes in new direction. The food is good and nutritionally balanced, more than exciting. Any issues in general care (bed not made, pots not emptied) seem to have been briefly while they have been short-staffed, or have had Temps to cover. However, the performance of the home during covid has been exemplary, being well planned and communicated, and fully successful.

Glebe House in Almondsbury is the most uncaring establishment I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Unless you are the bill payer, you are irrelevant to them, with a total failure to communicate. I do not recommend that you leave your loved family members here.

An excellent care home, under current covid 19 conditions, this care home is second to none. They have cared for and protected my father as if he were their own grandfather, for which, I am deeply indebted.
The cleanliness of the home the quality of the food is something you would expect in a quality
hotel.

Glebe House is of outstanding quality led by exceptional management. On arrival, the peaceful ambience of the entire home is apparent. Whenever I meet any nursing staff, carers, kitchen staff or management etc, they greet me with friendly rapport. My husband receives the kindest care and attention to
all his many needs. Each time anyone comes into his room, he is spoken to, his needs assessed, care is always at hand. The entertainment programme is varied, all residents are encouraged to take part, including minibus trips to local places of interest. The garden is available, so outside space can be enjoyed. I am gratified that my husband is being given the very best of end of life care.

The care and companionship that is provided by the team leaders and all staff is without question superb.


Time is taken by all staff members to engage with residents as well as family and feedback is informed as well as compassionate. All aspects of wellbeing are considered and members of staff

are aware of the needs of each individual.
Residents behaviour can be challenging but the approach of the staff takes into account the needs of the person in their care as well as the family.


The activities provided include day trips and a varied programme of entertainment that is relevant and appealing to all. The overall atmosphere is one of peace and relaxation.


Good communications are always in evidence. Team leaders manage and provide day to day care, taking time to note changing specific needs and suggesting ways to improve the overall happiness of those in their care.


The manager is always on hand to provide fast and timely solutions to any concerns that may arise.

My Name is Natalia Wrzosek and I’m a Nurse Manager at Glebe House. I started my journey with Bristol Care Homes in 2018 as a Deputy Manager and progressed to a Nurse Manager in December 2021.


Originally hailing from Poland, I relocated to the United Kingdom in 2011 to pursue my nursing career. Motivated by a desire to make a difference in the healthcare field, I have focused my efforts on developing my skills in leadership and management.


What I enjoy the most about my role at Glebe House is that work can be dynamic and diverse, offering various challenges and opportunities to learn and grow. Each resident has unique needs and preferences, and you will encounter a wide range of situations. This variety keeps the job interesting and allows you to continually develop new skills and adapt to different circumstances.


I am deeply passionate about my work and the impact I can make in the lives of patients and their families.


I am proud to be a working mum to my young son and Bristol Care Homes has supported me with a role that provides great work and life balance.

My name is Nathan and I joined the Bristol Care Homes team at the beginning 2024. I have the privilege of working alongside Natalia at Glebe House as the Deputy Nurse Manager.


I am originally from Bristol and have never strayed from the village I grew up in, Almondsbury. Much of what drew me to Glebe House was the way it resembled many of the things that I love about my own home, community, and upbringing.
Before joining Bristol Care Homes I spent the majority of my career working within acute medicine, predominantly in various Emergency Departments and specialising in Resuscitation and Education. Alongside this, I have also served eight years with the British Army as a nurse.


With two children at home, and a small holding to maintain, I was looking for a new challenge in which I could utilise my clinical and managerial experience whilst supporting a busy home life. And this brought me to join the beautiful family at Glebe House.


Outside of work, I enjoy skiing, surfing and music. I am also informed regularly that I spend far too much time on, or beside a rugby pitch. I am desperately passionate about farming, sustainability, and the environment; I aim to instill many of my green/eco ideas within Glebe House.

I’m Luke, the Operations Manager for Glebe House and Beech House. My role is there to make sure that the homes are well maintained, and the environments are kept in the best condition possible. It keeps me busy, and I get to meet a lot of different residents and relatives.

My journey in the healthcare sector has been both rewarding and diverse. As a registered nurse, I’ve had the opportunity to directly impact the lives of those in need, offering care and support at a personal level. In addition to my nursing background, I’ve also had the pleasure of educating the next generation of healthcare professionals as a health and social care teacher. This role allowed me to share my knowledge and passion for care, shaping the future of our industry.

Job Title: Physiotherapy Strategy Manager Joined: 2022

With a background as a specialist neuro-physio, I am passionate about maintaining and improving the quality of life of our residents.


My role within Bristol Care Homes covers all aspects of our residents lives, from activities of daily living to days away from the home. If required, I assess and advise on the optimal equipment to be used for daily transfers, where along with the carers we are always looking to maintain movement and independence as much as possible. In addition to this I work with the activities coordinator to encourage their sessions within the homes to adapt to a resident’s particular needs. For example, encouraging the use of a particular hand when doing arts and crafts. If specialist seating or a wheelchair is required I am able to advise and ensure that the correct equipment is provided, subsequently promoting participation in activities within and outside of the home.


Alongside this, I am contributing to the moving and handling training programme of our care staff in order to combine all the existing moving and handling guidelines with promoting optimal ergonomics for our residents. Should residents want to make use of an external physiotherapist arranged privately, in order to have frequent exercise sessions, I can oversee this programme and ensure any advice is integrated into the rest of their daily activities, as well as where possible arrange to meet the visiting physio and collaborate with them and our resident.


One of my main aims is to encourage the little and often approach; understanding how small changes in movement day to day can lead to tangible improvements in quality of life.

Hi, my name is Natalie and I am the Admin Assistant at Glebe House.


I came to Glebe House in October 2021, having spent almost 2 years in a career ‘limbo’ having been made redundant during covid.


I love my job here at Glebe, it really is like a second family. No two days are ever the same, from answering the phones to showing around visitors, there’s never a dull moment. My favourite part of each day is interacting with everyone that passes through Glebe House, not just the residents and staff, but families and visitors too.


In my spare time, I love reading, cross stitch, watching films, caravanning, and going on long walks with my 2 collies, Rusty and Storm.
