Wow What an outstanding Care Home. From first contact through to final farewell we were made to feel welcome, comfortable and confident that my father would receive first class care. My father moved into the Home, direct from hospital, to receive palliative care but sadly passed away after 4 days.
From the moment he arrived he was welcomed and made feel at home. All staff introduced themselves to him and to me as his daughter, carefully explaining how his care would be delivered and by whom. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. My father, who was a very fussy eater, couldn't speak highly enough of the food he was served. The chef even prepared meals, off menu, for my dad when the menu didn't suit him

Thank you to all the management and staff for the fantastic care you took of my dad. Your care and friendliness made his final few days as good as they could have been

Reply from Alexandra Grozea, SEO and Marketing Manager at Beech House Care HomeThank you for your heartfelt review. I came to Field House as a service user to join a resident at Christmas time to be taken around Bristol to see all the Christmas lights. The managers Dee and Holly took a couple of us out after hours in their van to look at all the Christmas light displays. We had a great time. I had tea and cake with
staff before we went out. I'll be doing more activities.
Reply from Alexandra Grozea, SEO and Marketing Manager at Field HouseThank you for your lovely review. My dear Mum moved into Beech House and had around eighteen months of exceptional care from the team. Mum was diagnosed with Dementia and us caring for her in her own home with carers attending several times a day, ended up not being enough to suit her growing needs.
Mum's care was always offered with
genuine kindness from the staff at Beech House. They were always on hand to update all of the family on how she was doing and supported us all, including her grandchildren, in her dementia journey. This is a professional team, who genuinely do care for those they tend to.
It was a daunting decision, deciding to place Mum into the care of others, but we couldn't be happier with our experience. A truly warm place, with activities to be involved with if you wish, and trips out, socially it was much better than she had living alone. Many thanks to you all.
Reply from Alexandra Grozea, SEO and Marketing Manager at Beech House Care HomeThank you for such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We know how difficult the decision can be, and we're so pleased to hear that your mum received such kind and compassionate care during her time with us. It means a great deal that you felt supported as a family throughout her journey. Your lovely words about our Beech House team, the atmosphere, and activities are truly appreciated - thank you for trusting us with your mum's care.

Recently visited Quarry House to visit a friend I've known for years for their birthday.
Staff on the Ocean ward were helpful and friendly.
I witnessed staff interacting with residents all were laughing and dancing in the lounge area for the birthday celebrations.
I had some questions about the assessment
process for discharge to assess my friend was on following a lengthy hospital stay. Spoke with two managers who were helpful and informative about this process.
Very clean home . Staff on reception welcoming.
Reply from Alexandra Grozea, SEO and Marketing Manager at Quarry HouseThank you for your lovely feedback. The times I visited my sister, I was very pleased with what I saw. With the excellent staff, cleanliness, rooms lovely nice and bright. She enjoyed her entertainment.
Only thing to me was her dinner on a tea plate it kept sliding off the plate but a bigger plate would have helped her. Apart from that
I can't fault anything, I was very happy with the service you gave my sister. I thank you for that. Excellent care home
Reply from Alexandra Grozea, SEO and Marketing Manager at Quarry HouseThank you for your kind feedback. It's a difficult decision when choosing a care home for your beloved mum. We made the right choice with Field House. The personal care has been excellent and equally important was the relationships that she built with the staff. All staff were very caring - the office staff, nurses, carers, activity
staff, cleaners, laundry staff & kitchen staff - even if it was to say a quick hello. Mum was there for 20 months and she was happy & settled there.

My dad stayed at nursing home for around a month. I have to little disappointed with the service as the team on the day dad was taken didn't call 999 when blood was visible within the urine bag. It's not all staff but clearly nursing team should have contacted the emergency team asap rather than calling
GP. Little disappointed with the service provided, even if the initial stay was ok.

I am the daughter-in-law of a service user. She was fortunate enough to be taken out in December by Field House staff and another resident to see the Christmas lights all around the Bristol area. It was such a lovely experience for her and staff were caring, reassuring and friendly, which put my MIL
at ease as she has Alzheimers and really doesn't like to go out that much. She told me all about her adventure and despite her memory issues it has stayed with her as a lovely experience she still recalls. Well done to the staff involved.

The staff here cannot do enough for the residents. They are all very focused on making life for the resident as homely as it can be.
There are a vast range of activities, both in the home and excursions on the group bus. All abilities are catered for. The setting too, is magnificent. For those with
a mind to wander, the grounds and indeed the surrounding woodland are a great therapy. A maintenance issue (drafty window in room) was dealt with quickly and successfully.
I do not hesitate to recommend this home.

My sister, aged 66 was fast tracked to Quarry House in March 2024 from hospital as she had end stage COPD and could not go home. She was given 3 months to live.
My siblings and I were given two Nursing Homes to view, the first we left and all cried, as it was somewhere we could not see our sister ending
her days. The second home to view was Quarry House. From the moment we walked through the door we all felt we could breathe. It had a welcoming feel, light and airy, so important for a chest patient.
We were greeted by a member of the nursing team who was kind, compassionate and warm. Everyone we encountered on our visit were kind and answered all our queries, which I had lots of, being a former District Nurse. We chose Quarry House for our sister, where she lived for 22 months due to the care she recieved
All staff treated her with compassion, warmth, like holding her hand through the difficult moments.
We can never thank the staff enough for all their support to our sister and us.

Excellent care/nusing care is provided. The nursing care has been particularly helpful and beneficial for mum. Several nurses have gone above and beyond their duties to help mum. The care is very good, with a good range of entertainment and trips out. The van has been so useful to get Mum out on trips.
So many staff are friendly and very dedicated to tasks. Only a few concerns from mum re waiting times for care sometimes & perhaps rushed to eat lunches, also dining room noisy.
Reply from Alexandra Grozea, SEO and Marketing Manager at Glebe HouseThank you so much for this lovely review. We're delighted to hear how much the nursing care, activities, and trips have benefited your mum, and we'll make sure the Glebe House team knows how appreciated they are.
We are sorry to hear that you feel there are some times where your mum has waited for care. We work hard to ensure that we have the right staff numbers to support everybody in a timely manner. There are inevitably times where it may take some extra time to reach people, however we also regularly audit our call bell response times to ensure that there are not times where the time we take increases significantly.
Regarding the dining room, we are sorry that you feel there can be a rush to eat. This should never be the case, and residents are very welcome to take all the time they need to enjoy their meals. We will raise this with the team to ensure this is supported as required. The dining room is a communal area where lots of our residents gather to enjoy meals together.

We visit whenever we can and have always found the staff to be brilliant with the residents. We (wife and myself) visit my best man (1962) who has dementia and wants for nothing. In himself he is extremely well, just his perception has gone but the staff recognise this and cater fully for his needs.
Cannot comment on a few of the options as have no experience of them but very happy to recommend

My extremely frail stepmother moved into Beech House in August 2024. On admission a full GP health assessment considered her life expectancy to be weeks rather than months. Then a new regime started which triggered her amazing recovery. Over the first weeks instead of weakening she gained strength (probably
due to discovering very tasty food, which in itself was a reason for her not giving in!) I cannot praise enough the care that followed over the whole period of her tenure. Even when dementia demons made her difficult I was assured that she would still be welcome to stay through to the end of her life, which was a tremendous relief to us all. She died in December 2025 in her bed, peacefully with family alongside, over 16 months after the initial 3 week prognosis. Beech House is a wonderful place. The whole team, led by the Manager alongside the incredible nursing staff can all be trusted to give fantastic care to your loved one, even to the end of their life.
