The staff here cannot do enough for the residents. They are all very focused on making life for the resident as homely as it can be.
There are a vast range of activities, both in the home and excursions on the group bus. All abilities are catered for. The setting too, is magnificent. For those with
a mind to wander, the grounds and indeed the surrounding woodland are a great therapy. A maintenance issue (drafty window in room) was dealt with quickly and successfully.
I do not hesitate to recommend this home.

My sister, aged 66 was fast tracked to Quarry House in March 2024 from hospital as she had end stage COPD and could not go home. She was given 3 months to live.
My siblings and I were given two Nursing Homes to view, the first we left and all cried, as it was somewhere we could not see our sister ending
her days. The second home to view was Quarry House. From the moment we walked through the door we all felt we could breathe. It had a welcoming feel, light and airy, so important for a chest patient.
We were greeted by a member of the nursing team who was kind, compassionate and warm. Everyone we encountered on our visit were kind and answered all our queries, which I had lots of, being a former District Nurse. We chose Quarry House for our sister, where she lived for 22 months due to the care she recieved
All staff treated her with compassion, warmth, like holding her hand through the difficult moments.
We can never thank the staff enough for all their support to our sister and us.
Reply from Alexandra Grozea, SEO and Marketing Manager at Quarry HouseThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. It meant so much to us to care for your sister, and we're grateful that Quarry House felt like the right place for her and for your family. Your kind words about our team's compassion truly touch us all. Thank you for trusting us during such an important time and for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review.

Excellent care/nusing care is provided. The nursing care has been particularly helpful and beneficial for mum. Several nurses have gone above and beyond their duties to help mum. The care is very good, with a good range of entertainment and trips out. The van has been so useful to get Mum out on trips.
So many staff are friendly and very dedicated to tasks. Only a few concerns from mum re waiting times for care sometimes & perhaps rushed to eat lunches, also dining room noisy.
Reply from Alexandra Grozea, SEO and Marketing Manager at Glebe HouseThank you so much for this lovely review. We're delighted to hear how much the nursing care, activities, and trips have benefited your mum, and we'll make sure the Glebe House team knows how appreciated they are.
We are sorry to hear that you feel there are some times where your mum has waited for care. We work hard to ensure that we have the right staff numbers to support everybody in a timely manner. There are inevitably times where it may take some extra time to reach people, however we also regularly audit our call bell response times to ensure that there are not times where the time we take increases significantly.
Regarding the dining room, we are sorry that you feel there can be a rush to eat. This should never be the case, and residents are very welcome to take all the time they need to enjoy their meals. We will raise this with the team to ensure this is supported as required. The dining room is a communal area where lots of our residents gather to enjoy meals together.

We visit whenever we can and have always found the staff to be brilliant with the residents. We (wife and myself) visit my best man (1962) who has dementia and wants for nothing. In himself he is extremely well, just his perception has gone but the staff recognise this and cater fully for his needs.
Cannot comment on a few of the options as have no experience of them but very happy to recommend

Beech House Care Home

My extremely frail stepmother moved into Beech House in August 2024. On admission a full GP health assessment considered her life expectancy to be weeks rather than months. Then a new regime started which triggered her amazing recovery. Over the first weeks instead of weakening she gained strength (probably
due to discovering very tasty food, which in itself was a reason for her not giving in!) I cannot praise enough the care that followed over the whole period of her tenure. Even when dementia demons made her difficult I was assured that she would still be welcome to stay through to the end of her life, which was a tremendous relief to us all. She died in December 2025 in her bed, peacefully with family alongside, over 16 months after the initial 3 week prognosis. Beech House is a wonderful place. The whole team, led by the Manager alongside the incredible nursing staff can all be trusted to give fantastic care to your loved one, even to the end of their life.
Reply from Alexandra Grozea, SEO and Marketing Manager at Beech House Care HomeThank you so much for sharing this incredibly touching story. My Dad received palitative care in September and my Mum was a resident from mid October to the end of November. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help, once again you pulled all the stops out to get mum into the home after and then moved to the ground floor.
You made the last few
weeks of her life a happy and lovely experience.
Secondly I must commend your whole team - carers, nurses, chefs, laundry team, physio, maintenance team, receptionist, helpers etc what a team caring, emphatic, knowledgable and professionally competent. Words cannot express how reassured we were that mum was in your care.
When she was taken ill, the nursing team were phenomenal. The paramedic did comment to me how good the night nurse was.
The nursing team, on Friday, were so amazing. They ensured Mum was not only medically supported, they showed care and love in the way they treated Mum. The whole team are amazing and the level of care shown to both my parents was the best you could ever wish.

Glebe House is a lovely place to live, my mother is very fortunate. The secluded, peaceful setting amongst trees and beautiful gardens is idyllic and my mother tells me daily how much she loves her room with stunning views across the vale to the Welsh hills. The former vicarage is beautifully decorated
and kept spotlessly clean. I can't speak highly enough of the staff for their kindness and the nursing care is second to none. The entertainment is superb with regular outings, musical events and in-house activities including visits from Shetland ponies and birds of prey! I am delighted with the service provided, the managers are extremely efficient and caring.

But due to her illness she requires constant attension, We were pleasantley surprised in the clenleness and tidyness, the care my wife received, all the staff were

Beech House is like a 5 start hotel, the carers are very kind, caring and always friendly. The food is excellent and the Chef will make you something different from the menu, if there's something on the weekly menu that you cannot eat, I went in for 2 weeks respite after a total knee replacement, and
came out fully rested and walking the home on my walker. I have nothing but praise for everyone in Beech House made me feel at home, and I was sorry to leave after my 2 weeks were up. Thank you Beech House.

All the team at Beech are fantastic I cannot rate them enough, my father in law had only been with them since 22nd May but what a change in him , we as a family found it hard to say we could not meet his needs at home anymore but after a few weeks in hospital we found a place at Beech House for him
he has had put on weight is participating in the daily activities so lovely for us to see he also loves the food nothing is too much trouble for the team .At the same time his wife was also in hospital and at end of life again without issue they got a bed for her too this means he can see her daily before she passes and also we can see them both together and as they have been married nearly 65 Years this means so much to us all and as a family makes our journey smoother.
We know soon we will loose her but we know she will be cared loved and looked with dignity till sadly she leaves us .
The support the team have given us as a family is very special cannot thank them enough
