On the whole, staff are friendly and helpful. There is an excellent laundry service. Food is particularly good. My carer is always helpful and understanding.
My father has been staying at Pinewood now since he was 99 years old. He has just enjoyed his 103rd Birthday with a beautiful cake made by Pinewood’s cook. My sister and I have always known that our father has had a lot of friendly care at Pinewood and he looks forward to the weekly trips out in the minibus. There is always a friendly response when we call to speak to our father and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.
Thank you, Stephen. We all think your Dad is a star and is doing so well in his 103rd year.
I have nothing but the highest praise for Pinewood Residential Home! The management, staff and carers were wonderful. They were always polite whenever I rang or visited and nothing was too much trouble for them. Obviously, due to Covid, visits were restricted and it was reassuring to know every effort was being made to keep everyone safe. At first, visits were outside in the gazebo and all safety precautions were taken. Mum was wheeled out, always clean and well wrapped up. On my last visit, we were able to use the wonderful new visitor's room which made such a difference. During one visit I was presented with a lovely soap, card and a photo of Mum - I think the soap had been made during activities. They also had a wonderful party in the summer with music, cakes and balloons. Mum loved her food and had always been a good cook and was quite fussy. She told me the food was lovely! I am so grateful to all at Pinewood who made Mum's last months so happy.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review for which we are grateful. We are pleased that your mum was happy with us and it was lovely to have her and your whole family as a part of our care home community.
I have been in the home since 17th of March 2020. The service provided by the care assistant thas been first-class and the treatment and standard of work second to none. Nothing has been too much trouble for her. When times have been very busy, she has handles the situation well without any fuss and in a very polite and dignified manner. She is a credit to the residential home and I would recommend her strongly to any resident wishing to come here.
Thanks very much for your review. We are really glad that you are enjoying your time at Pinewood and are happy with our amazing staff!
Our mother was admitted to Pinewood as an emergency owing to her frail health in March 2018. They nursed her back to health and monitored her recovery very well. She lived there for nearly three years, dying peacefully at the end of December 2020. She was very happy with the home, and she loved her room, with its view of the beach. The staff were unfailingly kind and responsive to her. The home also coped extremely well with the unusual Court of Protection case we needed to bring to protect her from herself.
Although in the last year with lockdown, visits were curtailed, the home, made every attempt to permit visits, deeming the mental health of patients as important as their physical health: they built a special room to permit visits. In her last days, they allowed visits to say our farewells, which many homes did not. For that, we are very grateful. I have no hesitation in recommending this home very highly for their combination of compassion and practical good sense.
Thank you so much for your review. It was a privilege to be able to care for your mother and to have your family as a part of our care home community.
I am very pleased with how the staff provided care for me, their teamwork is brilliant and didn't make me feel rushed. The home has been nice to live in and is full of laughter. The food here is delicious and I have enjoyed getting to know everyone and it upsets me when people leave.
Thanks, Martha! It is so lovely to have you with us.
The care given to my Mum was excellent. It was clean, warm and friendly, laundry was excellent. We couldn't ask for more, the staff were friendly and caring; nothing was too much trouble.
The home is always clean and welcoming with nice touches like a well-laid dining table for those who eat together. The food is good and residents choices are respected. The laundry service is excellent with clothes being returned promptly to the resident. There is a programme of optional activities and attempts are made to make them appropriate to the individual's abilities. The programme of regular, interesting outings was a real bonus for my father and residents are taken in the minibus owned by the home. Rooms are bright, well furnished and well maintained.
My brother was transferred to Pinewood from a hospital in Stoke on Trent following multiple strokes. The care he received was excellent. The staff were welcoming and made his last month comfortable. They were understanding and did their best for him, always respecting his dignity and seemed to genuinely care for him. When we visited we were also made to feel welcome.
Thank you so much for your review. We pride ourselves on having the most caring staff and train them to the best standards we can.
We were truly impressed with the professional, thoughtful, compassionate and kind care that my mother received. She could not have been in a better home in her final months. The staff always gave us time and listened to any concerns. It was well maintained, clean and the meals were excellent. There were many activities provided for entertainment, stimulation and social interaction.
Thank you so much for trusting us with your mother's care. We are grateful to you for giving us the privilege of looking after her. Thank you.
This particular home is one embraces the situation you will receive the most wonderful support threefold. Every resident has individual attention and utmost dignity. The nursing is of such a high calibre a general hospital would be impressed. The background staff are also to be congratulated as they often receive no recognition.
It was our brother's 81st birthday and the attention and care the staff gave him on this special day was memorable with cake, card and present. He has been in Pinewood for 3 years and in this time has been happy with the care he receives and the friendliness of everyone there. As relatives, we are so pleased to see him contented. We ourselves are always made welcome by the staff each time we visit and note how clean and tidy everywhere is kept.

Philp had, until 2004, worked as a solicitor in the city of London with over 8 years' experience in law. Feeling it was time for a change of career, Philip agreed to join his father, Jim, and his brother, Andy, to be in charge of Pinewood.

Sally has been working in the care industry since 1998, be it within care homes or in the domiciliary care sector. In 2003, she successfully completed her NVQ 3 and progressed to the position of Senior Carer. She gained experience of the day to day running of a care home, having responsibilities including the management of the home during times of the manager's/owner's absence. Sally has also studied Physiology and Anatomy at Level 3 alongside gaining a VTCT Level 3 diploma in Swedish Massage in 2009/10. Before joining Pinewood in May 2010 as a Senior Carer for the care home, she was working with people with learning disabilities.
