Overall Experience
My brother and his wife moved to Hill Ash House a few months ago, and as I live outside the UK, it has naturally been a worrying and emotional transition for our family. I recently visited for ten days and spent time with them every single day. All I can say is - wow.
The accommodation, both inside and out, is beautiful and impeccably maintained. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and filled with kindness.
I had lunch with them each day, and the food was consistently nutritious, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared - exactly the kind of meals that suit and comfort residents of their age. It was clear that great care goes into not only their wellbeing, but also their dignity and enjoyment of daily life.
The staff are compassionate, attentive, and genuinely caring. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and it was evident that the residents are treated with respect and affection.
The activities were fun.

I left with complete peace of mind knowing they are receiving truly exceptional care

I always thought that I could not bear to be in a care home, but when I was no longer able to cope in my cottage, I came to Hill Ash House. I found it quite different from my expectations. My accommodation in this Georgian house is spacious, full of my treasured bellongings and as it is on the second floor, it commands a view of the lovely garden and countryside. The staff are like an enosmous lively, friendly, caring, cahtty and cheerful/ I found myself doing things I haven't done for 50 years, if ever. I am very able to do a bit of gardening. Visitors are made welcome, and visits outside are possible. Meals varied and tasty. Life here is varied, interesting and happy.

Hill Ash House is simply wonderful. I love the beautiful, extensive, and well-maintained gardens, as well as the wide range of well-being activities adapted for people with dementia. The care team also make sure that families are included in activities, which makes care here very special.

After visiting several care homes for my parents, both with dementia, Hillash truly stood out. Since moving in in August, the care has been exceptional. Michelle and the team are absolutely wonderful - kind, consistent, and genuinely caring. It's always the same friendly faces, which makes such a difference.
The food is fantastic, and families are always invited to join in activities, dog shows, wine-and-cheese nights, fireworks, or to stay for meals - we feel completely included. The new glass extension makes it feel bright and open, never locked in, and the whole place is immaculate with beautiful gardens.

We honestly couldn't have asked for more. Hillash really is the best-kept secret, and the staff deserve huge credit for the wonderful care they give every day.

Thank you for your lovely review. We were so thrilled to be able to accommodate both Mum and Dad at Hill Ash. They have settled in well and it is great to see them joining in with different clubs and doing things independently and making friends. They are both making good use of our lovely grounds...

I couldn't be happier with the care home and the attention my mother receives. She looks brighter and healthier than she has done for a long time. She was also becoming very lonely at home and is now encouraged to join in the various activities on offer.

The home itself is very clean, bright and airy, with beautiful grounds and views across rolling countryside. Additions to the building have provided modern rooms, outside secure patio space, and a beautiful new dining room and reading area.

Hill Ash is just stunning and caters so well for people with dementia. I saw excellent care in a great facility. Many care homes have had a bad press, but here, I felt everything was working to a high standard.

My Mum spent 5 months in Hill Ash House earlier this year & then her final 9 days during August. The place is beautiful, clean & modern like a posh hotel & the views of the countryside are so pretty.

Hill Ash is comfortable for people visiting their loved ones too. The care Mum received was wonderful she was so happy there. We will always have fond memories of Hill Ash & so thankful that Mum was looked after by them.

I visited an old friend of mine, currently a resident at Hill Ash House. I was very impressed with the Home ,the Gardens and setting, with its lovely country views.
The Staff were very welcoming and offered refreshments. We sat in the Pavilion which was mainly glass and had beautiful views onto a lake and across fields and we had tea and home made cake.
I was also told about upcoming events being held and invited to come along. There is a Coffee Shop where Afternoon Tea is served on certain days and other outside sitting areas to enjoy different views.
My friend told me about the various activities she joins in with, such as Gardening Club, Book Club, Baking and Keep Fit.
They also have a variety of visiting entertainment that she can choose to join in with if she wishes.
I felt the Home had a friendly atmosphere and her room and the Communal Areas were beautiful kept and very fresh and clean.

She is extremely happy there and feels at home.

Thank you very much for your review. I'm so glad you enjoyed the refreshments offered. Our homemade cakes are always a big hit and we regularly hold afternoon teas and cream teas which are very popular. The Pavilion is a recent addition to the home being built in 2023 and has proved invaluable by...

My auntie came here for a while as we were away. Totally amazed by the support, standard of meals and also entertainment. Said it was like going on her own holiday. Would definitely stay again and if she ever requires long term care we wouldn't hesitate to contact them.
