The care and attention provided by the staff at this care home is excellent, which was great comfort to my father, as my mother's dementia had deteriorated to a point where he could no longer care for her at home. She was always treated with dignity and respect, and you could see she was genuinely pleased to see the staff when they entered the room. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to others, as the staff were so helpful and supportive, but also a special mention to the care home manager, Kerry, who was always there to support us throughout my mother's stay.

I try to visit my sister as often as I can and always find her being well cared for. The staff I find go out of their way to look after their residents, very friendly for what I have seen, in my visits. I also find the home very clean, I was there today 19/8/23 and found all well.

My mother has been a resident of The Hurstway since February 2023. I cannot sufficiently express our gratitude to the staff team for everything they have done for our mother. They are a fantastic team, well-managed and incredibly committed. The home has a warm and friendly feel. Communication with us is fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for them. My brother and I wish to thank them for their dedication and we cannot recommend the home highly enough. Should you need to find an establishment to care for an elderly relative we would readily suggest giving the Hurstway a call and visiting.

When Hurstway Care Home was suggested as a possible place for Mom's care. we were very wary due to previous knowledge and some of the reviews we saw. We paid an on spec visit with literally five minutes warning and were pleasantly surprised. The manager showed us round answering any queries we had. The vibe we got from the whole visit was a very positive one. Mum has been a resident since the end of April and we couldn't be happier with the care she is getting. Every single member of staff from cleaners, management, carers and kitchen staff do everything possible to make residents as comfortable and happy as possible

Became a resident at Hurstway Care Home on the 23rd February 2022. It was my first experience of being in a home. l was made welcome and staff were friendly and helpful from the start. I got settled into my room and became more aware of the routine. All staff, from management to carers, were really helpful and gave me full attention. Been here for fifteen months and it has become my home. l am happy here and really grateful for the love and kindness they have shown me. One of the beautiful ladies at Hurstway reassured me and took me out after years of being indoors. The activities lady has been super great and never fails to put a smile on all of our faces. She made this place very bright for us and therefore I am thankful for her. I have loads of friends here and a lot of company to keep me going. I love it here and l hope to remain here, at Hurstway, the rest of my days.

It is always heartbreaking to make the decision as a family to place your mother into care. We could not provide 24/7 care, for my mother's complex needs. But the Hurstway Care Home do.
As a family we could not be happier with the planning, support and handover provided by the home's Manager. She promised us our mother would be in safe, caring hands. She was right! The staff are all wonderful, thoughtful, caring and make our mother very happy.
In my mother's words 'the staff are lovely, very caring, I could not wish to be anywhere better'.

We can't thank the staff enough for making our mother comfortable and happy.

Reply from Leigh-Anne Kettle, Home Manager at Hurstway Care Home

Thank you so much for your kind words, Angela. It is an absolute pleasure to care for your mother! Yourself and family have been amazing and the sweet treats are very much appreciated. As always we would like to thank you for your continued support and look forward to continuing working together to provide the best possible care for your mom.

We recently had to make the sad decision to put my nan into a nursing home due to her declining dementia. We, as a family, went and looked at many different nursing homes. This was the best nursing home we found. The staff and manager were so friendly towards us and the residents. My nan often refuses care, and the staff do everything they can to help persuade her. They are always engaging with us about how best to help her the most. They are like the residents are family. The atmosphere is welcoming and calm. The residents are always dressed appropriately, and their clothes are clean. I have had dealings with quite a few homes, and I wish I had found this home sooner. I can't thank all the staff enough. They have made the hard decision easy and stress-free.
