Amazing care home, manager and all staff second to none. The caring, love and attention he was given was brilliant. He loved being in The Gables, never once asking to leave or "go home". It was his home and the staff his family. A brilliant place.

My Dad has not been resident for long, at The Gables. But after seeing the quality of care, provided by the staff, leads me to believe that our family chose wisely. Concerns are addressed quickly. I would recommend to those with Dementia to home their loved ones here.

My wife is 12 years into her dementia journey. She recently moved to the The Gables. She is at present happy which also makes me happy. In writing this I am happy with the level of care provided. She has had problems in two previous placings but so far she is happy.

I often visit my brother. I try to visit every two weeks if possible, he is kept clean and well fed and treated with respect. He is waiting for an operation to restore his sight in one eye, I have spoken to management about this but as yet have heard nothing. Management have re-decorated his room, it is a huge improvement on how it was decorated, I just wish my brother could see it. Overall I am very pleased with the care he received.

My father was at The Gables due to mobility issues after a fall. The team were fantastic and kept us informed (as this was a temporary stay). I cannot thank the team enough for the care he has consistently received. He was walking with his frame after two days previously not attempting to move at all. This was down to the perseverance and encouragement from the amazing carers, and great leadership.

Care is good some of the staff are brilliant. Just wish the rest of them would talk more with the residents then they would learn what the residents need by their signs, needs more individual awareness and understanding.

My father was taken to The Gables from the hospital for a two-week assessment on 21/06/23 - 08/07/23. He left in an ambulance suffering from a severe chest infection, a kidney and urine infection and conjunctivitis. He could walk, wash and toilet himself before being taken into social services care. Now he can do none of these things. The Gables did not care at all for my father he was dirty and unkept as was his room. There were 3 days when he did not even have bedding on his bed but an old sofa cushion for a pillow and a throw. This awful place is in need of an unannounced inspection. I will be taking legal advice! I have photographic evidence and messages for the family.

We are sorry to receive this review. When your father arrived with us, he was able to walk, and toilet himself, with prompting and support, however he also had significant behaviours which impacted his ability to be fully independent. He was placed on our complex dementia unit. He was supported and...

My brother has been a resident at The Gables Nursing Home for about three years now. He loves it there. All of the staff genuinely seem to care for him, I wish I had known before, when he was in a previous home, what caring, nurturing and encouraging looks like. This isn't just a home, it's his home and when we visit we always feel so welcomed and at home ourselves. I can't speak highly enough of the team there, I would mention a few but there are too many to mention individually as they are all wonderful.

In August this year, my husband was transferred to The Gables Nursing Home from a previous care home, the treatment and care he is getting at The Gables are excellent, second to none. The nurses are 100% dedicated to the residents. Excellent carers, they couldn't be looked after any better. The home is spotless and smells lovely, it's warm and comfortable. I have no worries whatsoever. He is comfortable and happy as he can be. He is 94 in June and has dementia so he needs that special care he is getting at The Gables.

Hi, my name is Zoe, and I am a Receptionist/Admin support for the team here at The Gables. I started working at The Gables in January of 2022 as a carer, shortly after having my own experiences of living and caring for someone with dementia. Ever since, I have had a passion to use my knowledge and understanding to deliver the same expectation of person-centred care to the tenants who live under the roof of The Gables.

I am now based at the front of house, so I'll always be the first person you see and will invite you in with warm, welcoming arms to ensure that you are happy and that you feel comfortable upon your entrance and exit, after visiting a loved one. I will always answer any questions or queries you may have, but if I can point you in the right direction of whom you can speak to in order to have a good overview and understanding of the matter, I shall definitely do so.
