Review from I W (Wife of Resident) published on 28 September 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My husband was a resident in Stanfield House for three and a half years up to his death last month. It is a difficult decision to place one's life partner into the care of others, but I knew immediately that Stanfield House was the right environment for my husband. The building and gardens ensure safety and easy access for residents, but what struck me most was the feeling of kindness and happiness throughout. It is very much a team effort: the owners, administration, nursing staff, carers, housekeeping and catering make up that team.

My husband was loved and respected by them all, and nothing was ever too much trouble. My family and I were shown that care and respect too. That care never faltered as his needs increased. In the last few months, as my husband's health rapidly declined, the decisions made for him by the owner and the nursing staff were so well considered, and as a family, we were always made to feel part of that process. I highly recommend Stanfield House.

My mother-in-law was only in Stanfield Nursing Home for a short while; however, the staff were incredibly knowledgeable regarding her dementia, very experienced and realistic, something that was much appreciated. We only visited one nursing home and that was Stanfield. We came away feeling secure in the knowledge that this was the best place for her and, we were right.

Thank you for the generous compliments, all the home's staff team are chosen carefully for their caring abilities and compassionate understanding. Your mother-in-law was welcomed into the home only be it for a short while and will be sadly missed. I will ensure the team have time to read your review. Thank you again for taking the time to write such a lovely and heartwarming review.

My twin brother, suffering from dementia, was a Stanfield resident for two and a half years. He was confused and at times, angry, but the home treated him with great care and understanding of his condition. Communication with the family was excellent, so we had every confidence that he was in the right place, given his condition, and that he was being very well cared for. Thank you for all that love, respect and care that you gave him.

Placing a loved one in the care of others is a very difficult thing to do, but Stanfield gave us confidence from the outset that they would care for my uncle with love, compassion and understanding. Through some very tricky times, they have remained professional yet approachable, caring and kind, but above all have continuously shown respect and warmth towards my uncle and the entire family, for which, we cannot thank them enough. We know that he was in a safe and loving environment where nothing was too much trouble. Thank you, Stanfield, for all that you are.

My mom was in Stanfield for just over a year and had complex physical and mental needs. Mom was only expected to last a few weeks when she first moved to Stanfield but lasted for just over a year. I am sure that the high standard of care she received at Stanfield influenced this. Mom grew to love the home and all of the staff there. As mentioned, Mom had complex needs, and it took time for the staff to understand Mom's needs as she used to become very scared. The owner and the staff worked really hard with Mom and myself. They never gave in even when they had setbacks. Communication between myself, the owner and the staff was excellent, which again had a positive impact on Mom's physical and mental well-being. Mom loved Stanfield and trusted all of the carers; she saw it as her home. I know, as a daughter, I always felt reassured that my mom was in the right place, and they always involved me in my mom's care, which was really important for me.

I couldn’t recommend Stanfield anymore if I tried; the care they give all the residents is above and beyond expectations.
My grandad was in during Covid, and I commend them so highly in keeping all the residents safe and well during the pandemic.
Nothing is ever too much for them for the residents or family members, they made my grandad’s final moments so happy, which makes us a family so at ease that he is safe and well looked after.
They treat every resident with the utmost respect and dignity.
The staff at Stanfield always make you feel very welcome and always have time to have a chat and answer any questions, regardless of how minor they may be.
I have an immense amount of respect for all the staff there, especially during the pandemic - a huge thank you to them for keeping my grandad so well looked after.

Should I ever have to go into a care home, I hope Stanfield is still there.

My beloved uncle sadly passed away last month at Stanfield after being a resident there for around 4-years. I found the care given at Stanfield to be excellent. All of the staff I found to be friendly and approachable, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff were caring with us as a family as well as my uncle and always kept us well informed of any change in my uncle's condition. Although Covid made visiting more difficult, Stanfield managed the situation well and kept the residents safe. My uncle occasionally displayed episodes of challenging behaviour caused by his dementia, and the staff took this in their stride and had the skills to handle this with calmness and compassion. I am a registered nurse by profession, and I would also recommend Stanfield as somewhere that appears to be a professional and well-run establishment to work in. I would like to thank all the staff at Stanfield for the amazing care given to my uncle.

From the day my father entered Stanfield, he was cared for to the absolute highest standard by the owner and his team. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and not only was my father superbly looked after, but also myself and my mum also received excellent care as we came to terms with my dad's condition.

I cannot speak highly enough about the team at Stanfield… they are an absolute credit to the care industry. I would not hesitate in recommending them.

Stanfield is run by private owners who understand and care for the needs of their residents.
The staff are unfailingly caring for the residents, who do a difficult job without any complaint.
After initial personal concerns about having to leave my dad in a care environment, he enjoyed being in Stanfield.

Prior to covid, everyone who visited was made welcome.

Everyone at Stanfield Nursing Home provided excellent care for Mum as her dementia progressed. The care they provided was unfailingly professional, but most of all, loving. The home was made to feel like 'Mum's home', and we always felt welcome when we visited. We were able to feel more relaxed about Mum, as we knew she was being as well looked after as was possible given her illness, which gave us peace of mind through a difficult time.

My father has been living at Stanfield Nursing Home since October 2018. At first, it was difficult for family members to accept the choice that Dad had independently made to leave his house and be cared for in a nursing home. Stanfield House was the first and only care organisation I visited to ensure Dad would be well looked after and my brother and I agree we would not have found a better place for him.

I am constantly impressed with the openness of the leadership team, the calibre of the nursing and care team members, the catering and housekeeping staff - all of whom go out of their way to ensure Dad and the other residents' needs are respected.

I am also delighted that Stanfield Nursing Home has been recently been inspected by the Care Quality Commission and has been assessed as providing "Outstanding" care. Well done to you all.

Review from Kathryn M (Relative of Resident) published on 1 April 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My relative has been resident at Stanfield for almost a year now and I couldn't be happier with the care she is receiving. Within 2 days of her arrival, all the staff knew her name and chatted with her as if she had been there for ever. Stanfield really does feel like a family for residents and relatives. There is always something going on for her to watch or join in. The staff are efficient of course but are also affectionate and kind. Her health had been declining rapidly before she went to Stanfield but the care she has received, especially with a particular health condition, has helped her improve greatly.

Of course, nowhere is perfect but any niggles are sorted quickly and effectively by the owner and the team.
