What can I say about Inglewood, other than it is a very special place !!

The thing that makes it stand out are the staff. They are so professional, friendly and always seem to have a smile on their face. We were always greeted with warmth and the offer of a tea or coffee ! A great team who excel

at their work.

We had looked at a number of homes before deciding on Inglewood, and what a great choice it was ! Everywhere was clean, bright and the home cooked food was very much appreciated by both mum and dad.

Our parents were treated with respect and genuine fondness, for which we will be eternally grateful. Every member of staff knew them and would immediately inform us of any concern. This reassurance was invaluable.

If you are looking for a care home which is as special as your parent or parents, then Inglewood is for you !!

Thanks once again to you all, you should be so proud of the care you show every resident at Inglewood.

Reply from Kim Rogerson, Director at Inglewood (Cumbria) LtdThank you so much for such a heartfelt and generous review - it truly means the world to us all here at Inglewood.

Your kind words about our team have really touched everyone. We're so proud of the care, professionalism and warmth they bring each day, and it's lovely to hear that this made such a difference to your experience. The kettle is always on, so we're glad you felt at home enough to enjoy a cuppa with us too!

Thank you for trusting us with your parents' care - we know how important that decision is, and we're so pleased you felt Inglewood was the right choice.

Your words of appreciation and recommendation are incredibly kind, and we'll be sure to share them with the whole team. It really does make us proud of what we do.

The home was very helpful and incredibly caring of my grandad in his last few days. They sat with him during his last days, keeping him company and taking time to get to know the things he liked. They supported my parents through the whole process making it easier to navigate. An incredibly caring and
warm staff. We are so grateful for their time and love during what was a difficult time.

My 101 year old dad died at the care home on Wednesday 11th March this year.
He had been in Inglewood for four and a half months and was shown exceptional kindness and care during that time. All the staff went out of their way to make dad feel welcome and settled at a time in his life when he was
suffering from a deal of pain and discomfort. He was always kept as comfortable as possible and in receipt of appropriate medical care. During his last few days he needed to be supported with end of life care and the staff made sure that he was not on his own when he eventually passed away. But the staff went further and made sure that his family were kept fully informed and supported during a difficult time for us all. It was especially gratifying to see four of the staff at his funeral service on Friday 20th March.
Reply from Kim Rogerson, Director at Inglewood (Cumbria) LtdThank you so much for taking the time to share these kind words. We are truly sorry for your loss and feel honoured to have been able to care for your dad during his time with us.

It means a great deal to hear that he felt comfortable, supported, and welcomed, especially during such a difficult period in his life. Our team always strives to provide compassionate care, and your feedback reassures us that this was reflected in your dad's experience.

We are also pleased that we could support you and your family throughout this time, and that communication was helpful when it mattered most. It was a privilege for some of our team to attend the funeral and pay their respects - your dad clearly meant a great deal to many of us.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences once again, and thank you for your thoughtful review.

This was my mother's first experience of a care home for a short temporary stay. She was very anxious on arrival, the staff introduced themselves and tried to make her feel more at ease straight away, did settled very quickly.
Her food intolerances were established and then enquiries were made into
what she enjoyed to eat. There was never any issue when she was taken out and stayed away for tea.
It put my mind at rest she was safe and looked after by a caring team.

I came to visit my friend's mam who is staying for 2 weeks' respite care. I was pleasantly surprised by the home, the way it was run, the cleanliness, the way the residents were treated and the sheer amount of activities and nice things going on each day. This is important to keep the residents' brains
active. Some of the ladies were proud to show off their painted nails! Keep up the good work.

Ferns staff and management have been unable to consistently assist my mother to make video calls as I live in the USA. This was a criteria used to select this care facility over a year ago. Whilst I know my mother is well cared for at the Ferns and I know the staff are well intended, they clearly
lack the ability to enact this important element of my mothers care plan. The Ferns team and I have made multiple efforts and plans to resolve this. Some plans have been sustained for two weeks, but inevitably communication in the team breaks down and the communication problems resume. I have pointed out that UK healthcare law very precisely states that facilitation of communication between residents and family is an obligation for the assisted living team. Again to no avail.
I recognize this is a bit of a unique situation, although I would caution that many seniors experience difficulty initiating and receiving communication from family, which is why it is specified in the law.

My dad initially came to Kingsfield for 2 weeks respite. The Manager who came initially to visit me and my Dad at his home was amazing. Made me feel so positive about putting dad into respite and reassured me. And was fantastic with him.
Since then my dad has become a regular resident. He has settled
so well, and the care staff are brilliant with Dad and with me! He loves the 2 chef's who work their magic, and enjoys the varied selection of foods on offer.
He enjoys the singing and dancing and other activities. We are also welcomed with open arms when we visit and any issues promptly discussed and sorted.
I feel like it has become my second home aswell.

It means a great deal to us that our Manager and team were able to support you both from the very first visit and help make what can be a difficult decision feel so much easier.
It is wonderful to know that your dad has settled so well, enjoys the care and companionship, and especially loves the delicious food prepared by our chefs. Were also so pleased that he takes part in the singing, dancing and activities, and that you always feel welcomed and supported when you visit.
