I have recently had a dear friend admitted as a resident to Inglewood Care Home. I am very impressed with the management and nursing carers. They are always friendly helpful and pleasant at all times. Management always available and informative on updates on my friends progress. Carers are very attentive
with dignity and love when attending to her needs. Inglewood is exceptional, a very well run home. Clean and lovely rooms and lounges and all equipped with residence needs. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to friends and relatives.

Dad came to the Inglewood in November 2025. Every contact we have had with the home since then has been really positive.
The staff and management are wonderful, they are happy , cheerful and always seem to know about dad's care (without having to search someone out!).
He himself is comfortable and
happy, which is exactly what we wanted.
Many thanks to you all for your care and understanding, we appreciate it so very much. Inglewood seems to us to be a special place.
Reply from Kim Rogerson, Director at Inglewood (Cumbria) LtdThank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your dad has settled in well since joining us in November and that your experience with the team has been so positive.

Our staff and management take great pride in knowing each resident personally and ensuring their care is consistent, responsive, and delivered with genuine warmth, so it means a great deal to hear this reflected in your comments. Knowing your dad feels comfortable and happy is exactly what we strive for.

I had been very impressed with Inglewood, from the initial contact with Olav, to Mum being welcomed into Inglewood by friendly and helpful staff. Staff are always willing to help mum with her personal needs, while encouraging her to interact with activities. Her personal care and appearance have improved
since she has moved there. Communication about how Mum is doing is wonderful compared to a previous experience in her previous care home.
Reply from Kim Rogerson, Director at Inglewood (Cumbria) LtdThank you so much for your kind review. Were delighted to hear that your mum has settled in well and that youve felt supported from your very first contact with Olav and the team. Our staff take great pride in delivering personalised care while encouraging residents to stay engaged and connected, so its wonderful to know this has made such a positive difference to your mum.

Were especially pleased that communication has felt reassuring for youworking closely with families is an important part of what we do. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

My mam was a resident in Inglewood for just over a year until she sadly passed away in mid September this year.
I had to look for her a place in residential care when she became unable to safely manage Independent living.Anyone looking for a place of safety, care, compassion, friendship, laughter &
love for a loved one look no further than Inglewood. My mam used to say " its a grand hotel this" & she wasnt wrong. The whole staff team as well as caring for the residents really do look after their relations as well as i found out during mams stay there, always a staff member ready with sometimes a much needed hug or to offer reassurance.
Lovely homecooked food, dietry requirements met, clean homely rooms, spacious communal areas for the many activities that go on & a fantastic staff team.
I havent been back to Inglewood since mam died,i will find it very sad & strange she is not sat in her chair in the lounge, but i will be back before Christmas to visit her friends & mine.I will also book a room !
Reply from Kim Rogerson, Director at Inglewood (Cumbria) LtdThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review about your mum's time at Inglewood. We are truly touched by your words, and it means a great deal to the whole team to know that she felt safe, cared for, and surrounded by friendship and laughter during her time with us.

Your mum's lovely description of Inglewood being "a grand hotel" brought a smile to all of us. We are also deeply grateful for your recognition of the team's support not only for residents but also for families; being able to offer comfort and reassurance is an important part of what we strive to do every day.

Please take your time, and when you feel ready to visit, you will always be warmly welcomed back by the residents and the team. We know it may feel emotional, but you will always have a place here.

I have been really impressed with the physical and emotional care for my husband by many staff members. He is helped to wash and dress and when I took him to the dentist, the dentist commented on how much cleaner his teeth were than on previous visits. Also that in his experience this was not usually
the case with care home residents. Members of staff remember about his obsession with football and talk with him about Tottenham Hotspur. Seniors try to offer the best for his condition.

My mum was sent to Inglewood from the hospital. She was there for 2 weeks then got a phone call to say she was taken to hospital in the night. I went to visit her and she told me the manager was trying to rush her. She replied I can't rush I have bad legs and she is very unstable on her feet. So I said
to my mum I will find out what is going on. But the next day my mum passed away in hospital. Still trying to sort the funeral out not have much time to find out what went on when she was in Inglewood. Hopefully, be able to sort things out when my mum is laid to rest.

Always welcome and everywhere is very clean. I don't think residents get enough showers and mum likes a bath really. The lift is often broken which makes it hard for mum as she doesn't like the stair lift. Always seems to be a problem with staffing, especially weekends. No manager at the moment.
Reply from Kim Rogerson, Director at Inglewood (Cumbria) LtdThank you for taking the time to leave a review. We welcome all feedback and are always learning and looking for ways to improve. I am pleased that you find a warm welcome every time you are in the home and thank you for noting that everywhere is very clean. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness. We encourage families to be involved in the care planning of our residents, please mention this to the Manager or a member of staff next time you are in and we can organise this for you. It has been unfortunate that the lift broke and unfortunately we had to wait for the part to be delivered. We have a contract with a lift company who provide 24/7 support and as you say, we do have a stair lift as a back up, although I appreciate this may not be someone's preferred choice. I hope you have now met our new Manager, who is very experienced and has had a thorough handover from our Operations Manager who was based at the home during the recruitment process.

My grandad settled here really well very quickly. All the staff are caring towards him and always find the time to chat. He really likes the carers and his face lights up when they speak to him. There is always plenty to do entertainment wise and the food is fantastic. He is always eating great meals
and filled with plenty of tea and snacks during the day. The home is clean and well maintained. Overall a great place.

My lovely dad recently moved into Inglewood and from the moment he arrived the management and their care team have shown endless kindness, care and patience towards dad. They have continued to ensure all his needs are met and that he feels safe and secure. Although cared for, dad still feels he has
a level of independence and is able to make his own decisions and choices. His confidence has grown and enjoys the company of the other residents. Inglewood has a lovely vibe about it and I'm delighted that dad is happy there.

Mam's very happy in the home. There's been a lot of changes in the last few months, lots of care staff left who've been there a long time, the communication was good but not so good now. Since new management, family members have struggled to get through on the phone (rang one day eight times at different
times of the day), family should be able to ring and get through. Family matters (not had any), new care staff are lovely and caring (which is a priority). Mam is clean, tidy, well-fed and loves the activities. Good but need better communication with management and more homely and warm.

I have been visiting my friend since last year and I have found Inglewood Care Home to be clean and tidy at all times. My friend is actually blind and aged 90 so I feel more activities should be provided for her, e.g. a radio would be good as she obviously can't see the television but she could hear
the radio. Also, she needs to be stimulated with talking and involvement with staff and could do singing and activities with people to chat to a person to read to them could be good. Thank you.
Reply from Kim Rogerson, Director at Inglewood (Cumbria) LtdThank you for your review. We appreciate all feedback. We have an activities co-ordinator who carries out many different activities, some as larger groups in the lounges and some as one-to-one, these include quizzes, arts and crafts, bingo and pamper sessions to name but a few; she tries to involve as many residents as possible during the day. She reads with the residents who require assistance. We have singers who come to visit the home at regular intervals.
The staff have sing songs with the residents and chat with them.
In the lounge we alternate between the TV and radio, we try to accommodate all residents. We also have a smart speaker for the residents to use.
When family and friends visit, we try to give them space to spend time with their loved ones without interference as we feel this is a special time, we encourage family and friends to take part in any activities with the resident.

Review from Charles H (Partner of Resident) published on 20 November 2023 Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
I rate the home 0 stars based on:
Poor quality furnishings, wardrobe and chest of drawers made from cheap flat pack, bottoms of drawers bulged and out of the rebate.
The room in which the w.c. was fitted was so small that my partner was unable to unable to use her Zimmer to get to the w.c unless she
reversed in. We had to provide our own commode as she could not access the toilet.
The only space in the room for the commode was directly in front of the window; this faced onto the staff smoking area so there was no privacy whilst toileting.
Security concerns: a male resident from another room wandered into her room late one evening.
Food; Her evening meal (at 4:40 pm) on the only occasion I visited her at meal times was a rasher of bacon between 2 slices of white bread, not what I consider part of a balanced diet.
Hygiene: she received 1 bath in the 2 weeks she was interred there.
In a word, appalling, but there is no facility on the rating chart to give 0 stars.
Reply from Kim Rogerson, Director at Inglewood (Cumbria) LtdThankyou for your review, we welcome all feedback. We recommend all families to raise any concerns or complaints at the time and, preferably, direct to ourselves and then we can try and remedy the situation immediately. This provides a better outcome for our residents. We pride ourselves on being a learning organisation but we find it hard to build on the service that we offer, when the complaint is raised several months later and indirectly via a website. In response to a couple of your points, our furniture is not flat packed but purchased from a specialist care company. Our home is an older building and the bedrooms have varying sizes of en-suites and we may have been able to offer you an alternative bedroom. Our home is known for its delicious, home-cooked food and we regularly post photographs of our 'Cake of The Day' on Social Media.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.261)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.261) out of 10 for Inglewood (Cumbria) Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.511 for Inglewood (Cumbria) Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (15 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 137 Ratings = 4.511
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Inglewood (Cumbria) Ltd is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2, which has been reached with 10 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
