Whilst I know my mother is well cared for at the Ferns and I know the staff are well intended, they clearly...
I recognize this is a bit of a unique situation, although I would caution that many seniors experience difficulty initiating and receiving communication from family, which is why it is specified in the law.

My mother has been in the Ferns for about 4 months, and despite her initial worries, she is now settled and happy. The staff are amazing with nothing too much trouble, and the place is spotlessly clean. It feels more like a high-standard B&B rather than a care home. My mother loves the food too.

The communication between the home and myself is poor, despite events affecting my loved one. There are too few experienced carers and too many who don't have a clue. This care home is not a patch on the previous owner's management of it. It needs to improve (care, not appearance!)

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate it. We have started the renovation at The Ferns and I hope you like the areas that we have done so far. We aim to complete all of the renovation works, including bedrooms by the end of 2025.
The staff at The Ferns recognised immediately that Dad is a private person who dislikes people invading his personal space, with that in mind they were able to make him comfortable and feel welcomed in the home. He likes to wander and the staff were happy for him to do that as long as he let them...
In his time at The Ferns the care given to Dad was excellent and I had no qualms about leaving him in their excellent care.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate it!
