My mother has been a resident at Ernvale House for 20 months now and this was the first Christmas Day we all spent at the home. What a lovely day my sister, my mother and I had. All the rooms were very Christmassy with fabulous decorations, all the residents had received a visit from Santa and his helper and were all given a bag of gifts specifically for them. We arrived at lunchtime and had a delicious Christmas dinner, so much better than cooking at home. Then we spent a lovely time with Mum in the afternoon.
Mum absolutely loves it there. She always talks about how kind the staff are, and she's not wrong, they are all kind, attentive and very helpful. She also enjoys the excellent food.

It's lovely to know she's happy and to have peace of mind in relation to her care.

Review of the Residential Wing. I'm very impressed with the thoughtful and considerate care. The atmosphere is calm and the communal areas are beautiful. Seasons and holidays are represented in the changing decoration. Christmas was delightful. My mother's room is very attractive. It is large, with big windows and plenty of space for it to have become homely, with several items of personal furniture. She can choose whether to spend time in her room or in the resident's lounge or dining area. Everywhere is kept very clean and in top condition. The staff are long-serving and I haven't seen any agency staff. I feel my mother has a lot of independence, with any support she needs discreetly available. The staff communicate with me very effectively and take on my suggestions positively. My only dealing with management was at the start, and the manager was excellent in every respect. I feel most reassured that my mother is being looked after very well by all at Ernvale House.

Overall Experience

My mother has lived at Ernvale for the past 4 months. She seems well settled there and I have been impressed with the quality of the care provided. The main carer has a lovely way of communicating with Mum and she responds well to him. Her room is comfortable and appears maintained to a high standard. I have only ticked boxes I have experienced.

My aunt has been in the home for about 18 months. She is happy, well cared for and seems content. Enjoys her food and loves to join in singing.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.

The home is warm, comforting and inviting. My aunt has everything she needs and seems well-settled.
