My father was moved to Richmond Hall for palliative care, and spent his last 10 days receiving the very best of care. All staff were very attentive and treated him with the utmost respect. I can never thank all staff enough for their exemplary care, and for the compassion shown to all of us.

Review of Richmond Hall from Christopher W (Grandson of Resident) published on 3 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The care provided to my grandad has been exceptional from start to finish. Every member of the team has shown genuine kindness, compassion and professionalism, always going the extra mile to support not only the residents but their families as well.
Everyone is treated with dignity, respect and genuine care, which has made an incredibly difficult time much easier for us. The management team are approachable, hands on when needed, and have kept us well informed throughout. Their leadership is clearly reflected in the high standards of care provided.
One thing that really stands out is that many of the staff have worked here for years. When you speak to the carers, they have nothing but positive things to say about the management and genuinely enjoy working there. That says a great deal about the culture of the home and, in turn, the quality of care residents receive.

I cannot thank everyone enough for the compassion, respect and support they have shown my grandad and our family.

Reply from Karen Beale, Manager at Richmond Hall

Thank you for your kind review, although we didn't know your grandad for long he found a special place in our hearts. He was clearly loved very much by his family and I know he waited for you at the end. He was comforted by your presence and knew he was loved. If you ever need anything we are only a phone call away. I will pass your review onto the staff.

The end of life care was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. We as visitors were always welcomed and the staff all looked happy in their work. My brother was always treated with dignity and genuine care. I would recommend this care home to anyone. From cleaners to managers, all had the same level of care.

My father Gordon came to Richmond Hall for EoL care.
From the outset, the staff and management team treated him with the utmost respect and care.
The level of attention for all family members given was magnificent, we were kept briefed on all aspects of his care throughout and were always available to answer any queries we had.
I will never be able to express the gratitude I feel for the way we were treated,

Many many heartfelt thanks and best wishes to you all.

Review of Havencroft Care Home from Annette P (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 11 May 2026 Submitted via Website

My Mother in law entered Havencroft on 1/3/2017. Right from the 1st day she settled in lovely. The staff was amazing with her. She helped staff water the patio flowers which she loved. The activities was 1st class, especially for my mother in law who had Dementia. We couldn't have chosen a better Home for her. The whole of the staff from management to cleaners are all amazing. They all make the time to speak to residents. The love & care at Havencroft keep my mother in law happy for the 9yrs she lived there. We visited 2 homes before Havencroft & we couldn't believe it when we visited Havencroft. Right from entering we new this was the home for us to leave our loved one. My mother in law passed peacefully away in February 2026 after spending 9 wonderful years at Havencroft. The whole family just can't say enough to thank all the staff from the top down for 9 wonderful years of love & care they gave to our loved one. Top class Nursing Home can't fault anything right down to amazing food

Reply from Ravi Kang, Business Manager at Havencroft Care Home

Review of Appleby Court Nursing Home from Cheryl M (Respite Resident) published on 15 April 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I have spent the last four weeks in Appleby Court Care Home following surgery for a badly broken leg. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go home so the discharge team at the Hospital placed me in Appleby Court for 'step down care', and rehabilitation. Like most people, I thought that care homes were for 'old people'. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome and cared for, it was 'home away from home'. The team consists of nurses, health care assistants, domestic staff, laundry staff, kitchen staff, an administration team and caretakers. No matter their role, everyone is welcoming and friendly and can always find a minute to chat. They treat you like a member of their own family; giving you respect, preserving your dignity and most importantly, providing the best care. Appleby Court also have a local GP and team of physiotherapists available to all, Monday-Friday. If you're looking for a Care Home, look no further than Appleby Court. Nothing is too much trouble.

Mom moved in October 2025. The staff were welcoming and made a great deal of fuss over mom, making sure she felt looked after.
Within 5 months, she has gained weight, she is laughing, she has fun with the staff, who clearly enjoy her company too. She has that sparkle in her eyes again.

I can only say a very big thankyou to everyone who works there.

All the staff including cleaning were very friendly and helpful. The evening/morning my mother sadly passed 17/01/26 all the staff at that time were very thoughtful and considerate. The two carers that attended to my mother after she passed made her look really peacefull, the compassion they showed was above and beyond our expectations.

Review of South Hayes Care Home from Stevie R (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My father Walter Daisley was a resident in South Hayes Care Home from February 2023 until 2 January 2026 when he passed away. The care provided by staff was excellent. When he became more disabled he was moved to a larger room so that he was more comfortable. His room and the home were always clean and nothing was too much trouble for staff. My father compared it to living in a hotel and he loved the variety of food provided. Activities are also provided and Dad loved the sing songs and quiz's. In his last year at the home he could get agitated and bad tempered but staff always dealt with him with kindness and patience even when he was violent and abusive, these moods subsequently passed and he returned to being Mr Charming. In his last months he became incontinent and bed-bound and had to be spoon fed. This meant he required a great deal of care which was provided with great patience and care. I can't recommend all staff at the home highly enough.

Reply from Leanne Usherwood, Manager at South Hayes Care Home
It was our pleasure to Care for him, he will be missed and thank you for allowing us to be the ones that cared for Dad for the last few years.

Review of The Willows Nursing Home from Nicola R (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother was placed in the Nursing Home following her deterioration in condition and stayed here from early September 2025 to the day she died on 13th November 2025.
I found the staff to consistently show genuine kindness, taking time to talk to my mom, other residents and myself, they listened to our concerns, and tried their best to make my mom feel comfortable and valued even though her care needs were escalating rapidly and her behaviour was challenging.

My mothers placement here was enforced and that includes on the nursing home and l believe that the Willows team were not fully made aware of moms challenges when she arrived. That said no one in this Nursing Home shied away from this situation and they knowing went above and beyond to help, which to me made a huge difference to my anguish and moms distress. When attending the home you can not help to see how the staff interact with others (knowingly and not), l was reassured to see how attentive and caring all of the staff were

Review of Ernvale House Care Centre from K P (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother has been a resident at Ernvale House for 20 months now and this was the first Christmas Day we all spent at the home. What a lovely day my sister, my mother and I had. All the rooms were very Christmassy with fabulous decorations, all the residents had received a visit from Santa and his helper and were all given a bag of gifts specifically for them. We arrived at lunchtime and had a delicious Christmas dinner, so much better than cooking at home. Then we spent a lovely time with Mum in the afternoon.
Mum absolutely loves it there. She always talks about how kind the staff are, and she's not wrong, they are all kind, attentive and very helpful. She also enjoys the excellent food.

It's lovely to know she's happy and to have peace of mind in relation to her care.

My terminally ill brother-in-law was recently admitted here from hospital, where we were told that he would not survive for more than 4 or 5 weeks. Thanks to the excellent care he was given, he lived for almost 10 weeks. The staff ensured that we were there at the end and for that we are all eternally grateful. As a family we cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness, care and professionalism .

Review of Richmond Hall from Ken G (Husband of Resident) published on 12 November 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I submitted a review in July 2025 due to my wife being given a short time to live, however due to the excellent care she she received from everyone, carers, nursing staff and even the cleaning staff, she lived well beyond the expected time, being comfortable and pain free.
I spent around 450 hours sat with my wife and never once had any concerns regarding her care, repositioned on time every time, hygiene levels for her maintained to the highest level, help with feeding, one of most impressive thing was all the staff caring for her, every one always had a smile and such a caring compassionate approach so gentle and kind.
My wife went into Richmond Hall with complex, challenging nursing and caring needs and as those complexities and challenges got greater, the more all the staff excelled in there efforts to keep her to the highest standard of care possible, all of them were brilliant.
The care given at the end of my wife's life was amazing, compassionate loving and caring

THANK YOU ALL

Since early May 2024 my mother-in-law resided at The Willows. Even before she moved in we all felt encircled with safety and security with her needs placed paramount. All this remained so 'til the day she passed. She was genuinely unable to join in with many of the steadily increasing activities and entertainment but made full use of the personal grooming on offer along with regular visits from the vicar which she drew great comfort from. The staff never give up trying to include everyone. Over the months the home has been steadily decorated and improved. At the heart of it all the residents are nurtured and cared for with genuine affection from staff and management. As always cleanliness of the residents and home is exemplary with nourishing food on offer each day. During her last few days staff were ever more attentive responding to her ever changing needs. Staff helping us fill her last hours with love. Thank you The Willows for your love. You are fantastic!
