I could not recommend this care home enough. It's very sad when you have to put your loved ones in someone else's care, it is very worrying knowing if you can trust them to care for them. All the staff here are so caring and compassionate and are a fantastic team. My dad was in another care home before
I chose Appleby Court, the best decision I could have made for my dad. They not only give 100% care but they made him happy too.
My dad has recently sadly passed away and I find I'm not only missing him, I am missing all the staff at Appleby Court. They not only care for your loved ones, they become your friends. Highly, highly recommend.

My mother was moved in temporarily but stayed for 3 months. It really was home from home. Small-scale personal care. Excellent awareness of changes to medical needs, and always kept family informed even though we do not live near and they made a real effort to engage with the family as well as my Mum.
I would like anyone to know that they can rest at ease if their relative is placed here.

My Mother moved to Appleby Court Nursing Home after having a severe stroke, as she required 24-hour nursing care. Appleby Court provided the Continuing Health Care my Mother required. My family chose this home because of the location initially, but also after viewing the property before making our final
decision. We were allowed to change the décor, bring in personal belongings and anything to make the room feel more like home. The room contained all the equipment required to make Mum comfortable. In addition, it was clean, bright and comfortable. We were allowed to visit anytime, which enabled us to spread our visiting times out so that Mum had plenty of company. There is ample parking. The staff are very friendly and professional. Although Mum was only there for 10 days before she returned to the hospital, where she passed away, we were very happy with the care provided. Mum was unable to use the other facilities because of her condition. We would definitely recommend this nursing home.

My Aunt has been a resident in this home for nearly two years. The first year was a mixture of respite and full time residential. When she was on the residential she had never been in a home before and at first refused to go into the sitting room with the other residents. The staff encourage this
and within a few weeks she was settled and enjoying life as a resident. This was down to the interaction of the staff with the residents. After a couple of spells in hospital and a stroke last year they took her back full time on the nursing side as she also had Parkinsons and Dementia. I cannot fault the care she has had since her stroke. She can have good days/bad days but the staff are excellent as they know all their residents individual needs. They are flexible on visiting and also allow pets to be taken in on visits. My family and I can categorically say that this home is up there with the best because of the care and dedication of the staff. We can go on holiday and not worry.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
