The end of life care was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. We as visitors were always welcomed and the staff all looked happy in their work. My brother was always treated with dignity and genuine care. I would recommend this care home to anyone. From cleaners to managers, all had the same level of care.

Mom moved in October 2025. The staff were welcoming and made a great deal of fuss over mom, making sure she felt looked after.
Within 5 months, she has gained weight, she is laughing, she has fun with the staff, who clearly enjoy her company too. She has that sparkle in her eyes again.

I can only say a very big thankyou to everyone who works there.

All the staff including cleaning were very friendly and helpful. The evening/morning my mother sadly passed 17/01/26 all the staff at that time were very thoughtful and considerate. The two carers that attended to my mother after she passed made her look really peacefull, the compassion they showed was above and beyond our expectations.

My mother was placed in the Nursing Home following her deterioration in condition and stayed here from early September 2025 to the day she died on 13th November 2025.
I found the staff to consistently show genuine kindness, taking time to talk to my mom, other residents and myself, they listened to our concerns, and tried their best to make my mom feel comfortable and valued even though her care needs were escalating rapidly and her behaviour was challenging.

My mothers placement here was enforced and that includes on the nursing home and l believe that the Willows team were not fully made aware of moms challenges when she arrived. That said no one in this Nursing Home shied away from this situation and they knowing went above and beyond to help, which to me made a huge difference to my anguish and moms distress. When attending the home you can not help to see how the staff interact with others (knowingly and not), l was reassured to see how attentive and caring all of the staff were

Since early May 2024 my mother-in-law resided at The Willows. Even before she moved in we all felt encircled with safety and security with her needs placed paramount. All this remained so 'til the day she passed. She was genuinely unable to join in with many of the steadily increasing activities and entertainment but made full use of the personal grooming on offer along with regular visits from the vicar which she drew great comfort from. The staff never give up trying to include everyone. Over the months the home has been steadily decorated and improved. At the heart of it all the residents are nurtured and cared for with genuine affection from staff and management. As always cleanliness of the residents and home is exemplary with nourishing food on offer each day. During her last few days staff were ever more attentive responding to her ever changing needs. Staff helping us fill her last hours with love. Thank you The Willows for your love. You are fantastic!

Having used this care facility for over two years I can honestly say that the care, commitment and dedication of the carers, staff and team is second to none. Making a decision for our loved one to reside in a care home was a very worrying decision, however, our mother was happy with her room, she enjoyed the company and interaction of other residents and above all she created a bond with her care providers - always patient with her, always trying to ensure her needs are met and importantly always making time for her. Residents are offered a menu selection for each day, there are plenty of drinks supplied and monitored, the tea trolley is always busy and the drinks are always served with a smile. Supported by a professional, dedicated nursing team and a strong friendly admin team our experience throughout has been excellent. The respect, care and compassion never faultered to the end and for this we thank all the team and will be forever grateful to them all.

Overall Experience
My mum was a resident at The Willows Nursing Home for nearly 3 years.. starting with respite care then becoming a full time resident when her mobility severely declined. We were so pleased with her care in The Willows . They became like a second family. She was very well looked after, always clean, washed and hair brushed. Looked after at mealtimes. And kept busy with activities. They were always available to talk to us about any concerns or health issues. Unfortunately mum passed away recently .(She had requested to be nursed at The Willows amongst friends.)

The care, compassion and dignity shown to mum at this time was wonderful and made a sad loss a little easier to bear. We are very grateful to all the staff there for being so kind to her.

My dad was admitted to your home after spending a number of weeks in hospital. As soon as I entered the home I felt at ease. All staff smiled and made me very welcome. Dad's experience in hospital wasn't good but The Willows made up for this. The care my dad received was excellent. Thank you so much - highly recommend!

My mother was at The Willows for nearly two years. Throughout her time there, she was given excellent care by the staff, many of whom were with her throughout her time there. Despite her dementia, the staff kept her clean and comfortable and ensured she ate well. I am pleased that the staff became friends, as well as carers, ensuring my mother had the high level of care I wished for.

My mom had to go here due to falling at home and breaking her ankle, Mom has mixed dementia. The Willows are wonderful, all staff, management, care staff, kitchen staff and domestics are polite and always chat to you and the care they provide is excellent standard, nothing too much trouble and always happy to help. Their jobs can be challenging but always smiling and always using a person-centred approach. I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart for the care they gave to Mom and for making her time there manageable.

My mother has been resident now for 15 months and has settled in well, she's looked after very well and there's plenty for her to be involved with. Review from J J (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 10 February 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Not sure how this place has managed such a high rating on here. The decline in my grandad in such a short stay is disgusting. Under staffed so can't meet toileting needs. Not using common sense to assist residents with meals if and when required. Communication is non-existent, for instance... my grandad was deemed as unmanageable and nobody decided to inform family before arranging an assessment and a new home found by the time we found out, due to visiting! The hospital shouldn't be placing such vulnerable residents in this shambles of a home, I really would not recommend sending your family here as they will not be safely cared for.

Reply from Jack Hendy, Manager at The Willows Nursing Home

Thank you for your review. We do take reviews such as this seriously. Our ratings are based on the positive experiences of residents and their families. We at the time of your Grandad's stay had not experienced any shortages of staff. During mealtimes, we aim to promote and maintain independence,...

My aunt was cared for with the utmost dignity. We had a negative experience with a previous home, so we decided to visit the Willows on our way home. From the beginning the Manager and team treated us with so much care and showed us around, after this my aunt moved in quickly and we could finally rest knowing she was safe. All of the carers, and nurses kept us up to date with my aunt's needs, we never had to worry. She was looked after with such respect at the end of her life and the staff understood her dementia so well. I would not think twice about sending your loved one here, thank you to The Willows for everything you did for my aunt.

My mom has been a resident for over 5 years. She has been looked after to the highest degree possible. We as a family have been very happy with Mom's care, also the degree of care we have received before Mom's passing. All the staff have been very kind to Mom and let me tell you Mom was not an easy person to care for. She could have tantrums. Scratch bite and spit for no good reason. So thank you all.

Each year has been the same care.

We have looked after Mom for 5 years and it was a hard decision to let Mom go in for respite, it was a great decision!
The staff were lovely and The Willows was clean and looked after.
Mom was well cared for and we could not have wished for a better experience for her and us. The care was excellent and the staff should be very proud.

We shall let Mom stay again. Excellent dementia care. Thank you.

From the first visit to The Willows, the reception was first class and my father was looked after so well right from the beginning. My father is 92 and our little family finally found peace and trust in The Willows's care after a traumatic time whilst Dad was at home or in hospital and that means so much to us now. We have visited Dad and he couldn't stop praising the staff, he loves them. SO thanks and love to all involved in the running of The Willows and caring for Dad.

My mom was in The Willows from March 2023 until July 2024. From day one she and ourselves were put at ease. The staff make you feel so at ease. My mom's care needs were fully understood and met and over the last couple of months more so as her dementia declined, I cannot thank them enough for helping to find ways to assist her as she did become quite challenging. She never complained about her food, and always said she had enjoyed it. The cleaning staff keep the place spick and span and it always smells lovely in there. I know if she could, my mom would say a very big thank you to all of the staff there, so as my mom moves on to her new place I can only hope we get what we had from The Willows.

From mom, myself and my husband - thank you.

I was worried about my mom going into The Willows looking back on reviews, but I found all the staff from cleaners to carers and nurses to be very professional and caring. My mom was kept immaculate, and she was turned on a regular basis to prevent sores and was treated with respect. My family and I were kept informed of any changes, and there was always a friendly member of staff on hand, offering us drinks, etc. Mom's room was sufficient. Only thing I can think to gripe about maybe is the place could do with a lick of paint now, carpets, etc.

Also, more going on, entertainment, but I believe they are employing someone.

My elderly mother-in-law was transferred, with no discussion with family, to the home from the hospital following a fall. Looking at reviews, we were really worried but we didn’t have to be.
The staff went above and beyond their jobs to make her comfortable, spent time with her when family not visiting, showed respect, kept her clean and pure compassion in her end-of-life week was outstanding from all staff members, be it the cleaner, volunteers or top nursing staff.
Family was kept informed at all stages and was made to feel welcome and was constantly brought drinks when we sat with her in her end-of-life moments so we didn’t have to leave her.

Home may need a bit of paint here and there but they have the excellent staff to care for your relatives and that's what counts.
