From my dad going into Brookview in mid April and passing in mid July I can honestly say he could not have received better care. All the staff were very caring and looked after all my dad's needs. My dad did say on regular occasions that the staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. From
day one we were told to treat it like Dad's home with our comings & goings. The last couple of days of my dad's life he was treated with the upmost respect & dignity and the team ensured he was kept out of pain. A special mention to the manager who went above & beyond and ensured that my dad's last wish re donating his body to medical science was met, despite some last minute challenges. I would have no hesitation in recommending Brookview to look after someones loved one.

My husband was discharged to Brookview from hospital on 19/03/25. He was made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Unfortunately his condition deteriorated again on 1/4/25 and he was readmitted to hospital. He was discharged back to Brookview on 8/4/25 for end of life care and passed away on 9/4/25.
The care he was given in those last 2 days was excellent. Staff were kind and thoughtful to the whole family and we felt we had known them for months not just a few days. Would highly recommend.

A huge thank you to all the fabulous people at Brookview who offered exceptional care and comfort to my mother particularly in her final days. My mother was a resident for 3 years suffering from severe dementia and was bed ridden from most of her stay. The staff (current and past) ensured she was as
comfortable and looked after as possible.

My stepmother was very well looked after by the staff at Brookview Nursing Home during her long stay there. She was given care to a high standard in a friendly and efficient way by the lovely people employed to do so. My most sincerest thanks to them all.

I was extremely happy with the care and support the Brookview Nursing Home team gave the resident and me over the last few years.
Nothing has been too much trouble and genuine care was given in very challenging times.
It made a difficult time much easier, especially the resident but also myself.
The
team worked closely together and this could be seen at all the different levels, from first-line carer to the management.

My husband is a resident of Brookview Nursing Home. He has complex needs due to Parkinson's Disease and Dementia. He is always treated with kindness, compassion and great care. Nothing is too much trouble, and there is always a member of staff on hand to help.

I am always welcomed with a friendly face. The home will contact me with any concerns straight away. Mum is usually up and loves to be with people she enjoys activities, especially crafts. It is a pity they no longer have the minibus as mum used to love going out. It is really nice that mum is able
to have her hair done on-site she used to go every week at home and this is some normality for her. She is always warm and she seems happy enough especially love the themed afternoon teas as it gives us time to be with mum on our own (she finds it difficult to get in and out of the car).

We are sorry we no longer have the use of our own minibus but we continue to explore other means of ensuring our residents' links with the community continue, and outings are still taking place, but have been limited during winter. We are continually looking to improve our means of ensuring our resident's well-being remains the highest they can be, especially through our activities program. This home has always had the feel of a real home rather than a staging post, it's something else. Management has been consistent. Staff have come and gone during my fathers 4 year's plus in residence. He is currently very happy with the service he is receiving. There are always one or two areas where
small improvements would help. These are reflected in the scores below.

Do not contemplate sending a relative here.
The attitude of one of the nursing sisters is appalling, rude to me on several occasions when I phoned to enquire about my mum and used deprecating language about my mother and one of her visitors under the guise of being 'strict'
My mother was clearly at
the end of her life and was very anxious. The nurse in question was scathing about her anxiety and distinctly 'cagey' about her care. Compassion was severely lacking.
My mother wasn't treated with any dignity whatsoever, from not wearing clean clothes every day and other residents wandering in and out of her room as she lay dying. I had to insist on a stair gate being fitted to her room so she was afforded some peace (she was petrified of other guests wandering in). This was delayed until I actually visited and it 'miraculously' turned up when I was there, as did a change of batteries on a call bell.
Other staff I met were perfectly pleasant but didn't seem caring in any way.
Avoid.

We take pride in our end of life care delivery and have not received any concerns regarding this in the past, though we fully understand that everyone's experiences are different. Although this will not offer you any immediate comfort, we do not disclose intimate details regarding resident's care to callers over the telephone as we cannot confirm who they are, this is standard practice within the healthcare industry. Visiting at such delicate times is encouraged and welcomed, again I apologize if you feel these times were lacking in any way. Please be assured that we take all concerns seriously and aim to use feedback in a positive manner to continuously improve our service and care to our residents, your concerns and feelings will be shared with the team.

I seriously do not recommend you take your relatives to reside in this care home. My mother spent several days in this care home and she has ended up back in hospital with a serious and complicated fracture of her femur bone that could end her life if operated on. This is extremely distressing for her
sons. She was also seriously dehydrated and had to have two blood transfusions. I her son have witnessed careless forgetfulness by some of the staff whilst I was visiting my mother. I am deeply regretful that I did not act sooner to protect my mother. This care home will be under a formal investigation about the care of my mother by the Derbyshire County Council. Put your relatives in this home at your peril!

The care and attention received has been very good. My dad even states how well they look after him. They encourage him to attend regular functions which the staff put on. Food is very nice and varied. Management are very attentive to our needs.

My stepfather has been a resident since December 2018. He has Alzheimer's. The staff have always been extremely patient and caring with him, encouraging him to eat and giving him what he likes. They have nursed him through various infections and have always been very kind. We are very pleased with the

I am writing to say thank you for the wonderful care you have provided for my father who has been with you for a few weeks now. It was a difficult decision for us to make, as we were worried about how he would be cared for, as you hear so many negative stories these days.


We need not have worried

at all. The staff are amazing. Nothing is too much for them and my dad has told me many times how great they are. And this is from a gentleman who can be a tad grumpy at times, even this doesn’t phase the staff.


He is checked regularly and all his care and dietary needs are met.

Brookview offers a warm, homely atmosphere and the highest standard of care. The well-being of my husband was their primary concern, whatever challenges they were given. They gave me complete peace of mind after every visit and I would highly recommend Brookview Nursing Home.
