Generally, the staff are patient and attentive to the needs of my wife and she feels that she is safe and being well looked after. Health issues were promptly noticed and acted upon. We appreciate how visits are facilitated as often as possible and arrangements agreed.

My mother fell in her own home and suffered injuries to herself. She was taken to hospital alone in the height of the COVID pandemic, no visitors allowed. Weeks later, I was advised that she would be transferred to Ivonbrook Care Home. Arrangements were made for myself and my sister to be outside the
care home, so that we could see Mum on her arrival, and talk to her from a distance. I was impressed at the first meeting with personnel at Ivonbrook, who showed compassion in the situation and management are very supportive. Pandemic visiting restrictions were enforced to protect staff and residents, so visitors were not allowed inside at those times, therefore it was difficult to assess facilities initially. However, we were fully informed of Mum’s needs, health and well-being. Visiting singers were allowed to perform outside the patio doors. Residents are involved in activities, board games and painting, great ways to socialise and get to know others.

My friend has been a resident here since Summer 2019.
We are very impressed by the care and attention she has received throughout that time.
Communication is excellent, any health problems presenting, we are immediately made aware of and of the action being taken. Ivonbrook, throughout this pandemic,
has kept us informed of all changes that have needed to be made to ensure the safety and welfare of residents and staff
We admire the efforts Ivonbrook plans in providing interest and entertainment for all the residents.

My Mum has lived in Ivonbrook since September 2017. She has dementia so moving in for her was a very traumatic experience. However, I can not thank all the staff at the home enough for how they handled Mum and the general situation of her changing circumstances. The decision to split the home into different
areas, according to the resident's needs, was a good move. Mum has settled well into her new surrounding and I believe that she is getting excellent care from the manager and the rest of the team. One positive characteristic to note about this Home is that the staff are amazingly consistent, with many working there for several years. My Mum has formed a special bond with one of the carers, who truly understands Mum's needs. They keep us up to date and informed and have managed the pandemic very well.

My mother became a resident a couple of years ago.
She settled in very well. She is looked after extremely well by the friendly and caring staff. Whenever I call or phone every member of staff is friendly and approachable. They always know who my mother is and if they don't know how she is they will
find someone who has given her breakfast or what she has eaten and how she is doing healthwise.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
