My Mum was a resident at Rykneld View from November 2015 until December 2020 when she sadly passed away. My Mum was always treated with kindness and respect and was a very much loved resident. We too as her family were always made to feel welcome, and it was always a pleasure to spend time at the home,
not only with my Mum but also getting to know all of the remarkable Team along the way. I always knew that Mum was safe and well cared for, even more so during the difficult times created by Covid 19, and for that, I will always be grateful.

My aunt lived at this home for four years. She was not the easiest person to get on with. But she was treated with care and consideration. If she was feeling ill, she was quickly looked after. In the end, she looked on the home as her home.

When she entered Rykneld in April 2017, we were advised by the hospital that it would be for palliative care. She thrived in the home, put on weight, and lived for four years. She had a good relationship with the staff, who care for her well. Although lately, there was a large turnover of staff, they
seemed to take on the caring attitude. They could have been better at communicating with me as things changed and I was often surprised on visiting. More stability with management may have helped.

I cannot praise the staff at Rykneld View highly enough. My mother was a resident for over two years, and although confined to bed most of the time, was always well cared for, clean, comfortable and happy. We cannot thank all staff enough for their care whilst we were unable to visit due to Covid restrictions,
and their nursing during her final weeks.

After having a stroke my mother-in-law was discharged from hospital to Rykneld View. This was a difficult time for the family particularly with the impact of COVID-19. We chose the home because on the website it claimed to cater to stroke and dementia patients. After about a month we were informed that
they could not meet my mother-in-law’s needs. Eventually, she had to move to a different Nursing home. Her needs had not changed from discharge from the hospital. It was an extremely upsetting experience for us especially seeing the injuries she sustained after a series of falls. Please Rykneld View does not accept patients in the future and then decide you cannot cater for their needs. It is an extremely difficult decision putting a loved one in a nursing home and we did not expect that after 6 weeks she would have to move. Please sort out your website which says challenging behaviour, dementia and stroke care, you clearly can’t provide this or my mother-in-law would not have had to be moved.

The most important thing I can say about this home is that all the staff care, whether they are management, nursing and care staff or the support staff. As a family, we feel lucky to have found a home that we feel happy for Dad to stay in where he is safe and cared for.

My father in law has recently been admitted to Rykneld View and being cared for well. This is a big weight off the whole family, now we can spend time as a family with my father in law knowing he is safe when we are not there. Thank you to all the staff, especially the manager and deputy who have organised
a seamless transition.
He is already making friends who he plays dominoes, connect 4 and has movie time with.
I know my fiancee is finding life much easier now with support from Rykneld, we are looking forward to participating in their upcoming summer fayre.

The home was/is very clean, well-ventilated and odour free. The care staff are kind, helpful, considerate and show courtesy to the residents at all times. The nursing staff respond quickly when requested/required and show great skill, knowledge and consideration. The nurses respond to relatives queries
kindly and with reassurance. Their medical knowledge is comprehensive.

Rykneld View is a wonderful home, staff are very caring, spotlessly clean, laundry perfect. I was so pleased with the care for my mum till the day she passed away there. All the staff were marvellous! We really miss our visits to Rykneld View!

I would advise anyone who needs to fund a nursing home that Rykneld View is very good in everything. The staff are all brilliant. If you have any questions there is always someone there to talk to. It is spotlessly clean whenever you visit.
