Rooted in the Christian faith, life at Evington Home supports its residents to live fulfilled lives in their later years. They provide excellent, personalised care that supports residents to flourish in older age.

They appreciate that each resident has their own individual interests, hobbies and pastimes, and endeavour to support their residents to maintain this important part of their lives. The residents are encouraged to lead the lifestyle that they choose, doing as much or as little as they want.

People can choose to take part in activities such as the regular armchair salsa or can simply choose to put their feet up with a daily paper (by arrangement) or a good book from the home’s own collection.

Evington Home's Christian background is at the heart of both their values and actions. At Evington Home, they try to create a community where Christian worship, prayer and support are a core part of daily life.

They have morning devotions Monday - Friday, a Sunday afternoon service and a monthly communion service, all taken by a variety of local speakers and clergy. There are a number of churches of various denominations within easy reach of the home.

Weekly Charges per Person

Our fees are charged per person, per week. We do not require a deposit and we do not require a guarantor. This will include the provision of personal care, food and drink, heating, lighting, equipment, laundry, insurance of personal items, and in-house activities.


These fees are valid between 1st April 2025 and 31st March 2026 and are reviewed annually. The Registered Manager will assess you prior to admission to determine the level of care provision required. During a stay at Evington, fees can change if the level of care you need increases or if there is a change in the law which significantly impacts the cost of your care. You will be given one month’s notice of any changes in fees.


We have three levels of care provision at Evington:
• Basic residential care: this is where the assessed needs are relatively uncomplicated and where mechanical or technical assistance is rarely needed.
• Higher dependency: this is where the assessed needs are complex and where mechanical or technical assistance is intermittently needed.
• Enhanced care: this is where assessed needs are highly complex and where mechanical or technical assistance is frequently needed. We charge for dementia care at this rate.

All care home staff always display a caring and friendly attitude to residents and visitors. I am confident that my relative’s overall needs are a priority. Sometimes there seems to be a little inconsistency with regards to my relative’s current needs and mood and I’ve drawn attention to how my relative
seems to be feeling on occasions. Whilst physical care of residents during the pandemic has been the home’s number one priority, there was a slowness in flexibility to progress to specific individual needs for residents that unnecessarily prolonged distant visiting regimes.

The care shown to my mother when I recently visited was lovely. The carer showed kindness, patience, and understanding to her. She had time to spend with her and explain several times what was happening and why. She was friendly but not overbearing.

The family chose the Evington Home for our mother for its Christian ethos and other prior connections. The Home is light and airy, with a lovely big lounge opening out onto the level access garden to walk or sit in. The bedrooms have beautiful views to the garden/park. The Homes uses a whole person
approach called "The Way We Care" (on their website), and everyone is called a "family member". The Home offers a stimulating daily routine which mum attends, including morning service and afternoon activities including exercise, crafts, music, baking, quizzes, music, and celebrating birthdays with cake! I have seen firsthand the care, kindness, and patience of the staff. Everyone is friendly and respectful towards mum. Staff are always helpful on my essential carer visits and chat through concerns in person or phone calls. All the family live away but we have peace that mum is well looked after. Mum has a multi-faceted Care Plan which is documented and reviewed regularly.

Lovely friendly staff who care for my parents very well. Always helpful and courteous when we visit. My mother and father seem very happy with the care they receive. The choice of food could be increased to consider a wider range of tastes but this is a minor criticism. Very clear and helpful email
communication around Covid guidelines from the managers.

I have found the staff friendly and the whole experience of visiting a welcome one. The resident I see has settled in very well and that is testament to the quality of care. It is so good to know that spiritual needs are addressed along with the more functional ones.

My husband was made to feel very welcome, several members of staff popped in to say hello as we were unpacking. Our first impression of the home had been very positive when we had arrived unannounced for a look round and had been struck by the peace and calm, the fresh environment compared to other
places we had visited, and specifically the Christian ethos which had attracted us despite the distance from home. The activities they provide are more suitable for and of interest to my husband. During every visit, the staff are friendly, kind and very gentle and supportive. Even during the current Covid restrictions, they have endeavored to continue with the daily worship and have enabled us to visit, and we can see that my husband is very peaceful and content, although we realise he would benefit from more visits when they are allowed.

I have found this Care Home management and staff to be very personable, friendly and caring towards my cousin and myself.
The management team have been helpful in instances where correspondence has been sent on behalf of my cousin to overcome some legal problems, not connected with the Home.

Dipika

Dipika Badar-Ud-Din

Job Title: Registered Care Manager Joined: 2025

Dipika has 18 years of experience in the health care sector, including nine years as a Registered Care Manager, and holds both a nursing qualification and a Level 5 Management qualification.


Dipika considers her role with the Pilgrims’ Friend Society a calling from God and a part of His plan for her life. She is excited to work with the team at Evington Home to provide exceptional care and foster an environment that reflects God’s love and grace. Her goal is to ensure those who live with us feel valued, respected, and cherished, bringing comfort and joy to their daily lives.


A first-generation Christian, Dipika committed her life to Jesus Christ in 2020. She is actively involved in the International Breakthrough Ministry Church in Leicester, where she serves on the church management team.

Inderjit

Inderjit Modare

Job Title: Business Manager Joined: 2023

Inderjit Modare, or Indy as he likes to be known, started as Evington Business Manager in February 2023 and has a long background in financial services and more recently in running teams within property maintenance (cleaning and maintenance). He attends church in his home town of Derby.

Barbara

Barbara Mckenzie

Job Title: Activities & Community Engagement (ACE) Joined: 2025

Barbara moved from South Africa to Leicester nearly three years ago. The first position she applied for was at Pilgrims’ Friend Society, and she started at Evington Home as a carer, later working as a senior carer as well when needed. She has always been involved in various aspects of her home church, including with the Christian radio station Cape Community FM (CCFM), as a Sunday school teacher, youth club and youth music leader. She has also enjoyed being a leader and organiser at church camps and working with older people in the church.


Barbara has done mission work with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) around South Africa and in Madagascar. She studied at George Whitefield College (Church of England), where she did a year in theology. Barbara felt the Lord leading her into the ACE Facilitator position to take care of the ministry in the home and to bring all she can offer to the home and greater community.


She worships with her husband at Arnesby Baptist Church.
