I commenced employment at Cherry Holt in December 2017 as the very first Deputy Manager, a role I am very passionate about.
Prior to working here, I started my journey in Healthcare in August 2006, after my 3rd child. After 2 weeks of working as a carer in the Community, I realised this was my calling in life. 2 years later I became a senior carer, working in a Care Home. After completing my NVQ Levels 2 & 3, I applied to work as a Healthcare Worker for Nottinghamshire Healthcare, for the Twilight District Nursing Service. Whilst working within the NHS, I gained experience by working in the Rapid Response Team, swiftly being promoted as part of the Care Home training pilot to reduce pressure ulcers, as an Assistant Practitioner.
I co-wrote React To Red/Moisture within 6 years of being part of the team and gained an Award of the Unsung Hero for Clinical Setting in 2016.
I was approached in 2017 after I had gained my Foundation Degree to join the Cherry Holt team. It was a difficult decision to make initially, due to the success of my Care Home work, however, this role has taught me so much, and what a true family feeling it is to work at Cherry Holt.
I look forward to seeing the home grow from strength to strength under Knights Care.
I started working at Cherry Holt on the 29th of December 1998 in the Laundry working only three days a week, part-time due to having an 8-year-old son. After a couple of years, I added another day to that and worked four days a week. During this time, I also helped out in the kitchen doing teas mainly and also helped out on the morning shifts too, so after a few months I then took on a full-time varied role. Following Knights Care's takeover, I was offered a new position of front-of-house receptionist in November 2022 which I gladly said yes to.
Out of work, I enjoy Family holidays abroad, family meals out, reading, cinema, going out with friends socializing.
