All of the Staff have been Superb with my Mother Since day one. They have always treated her with dignity and kindness Taking excellent Care of her health and well being. Mum loved the food especially the milk shakes. They always tried to keep her in a happy frame of mind.

During my relative's stay, there were repeated illness outbreaks that frequently resulted in visiting restrictions. This meant residents were often confined to their rooms and separated from their families, which was distressing...

My mother was admitted to Ashbourne in July 2023. She wanted to go back to her flat at first, but soon settled in after a few weeks! She was as one carer put it, 'the life and soul of Ashbourne'. Sadly, after one or two breaks of bones, bruises and falls, she was confined to bed and never got up...
My mother was admitted to Ashbourne in July 2023. She wanted to go back to her flat at first, but soon settled in after a few weeks! She was as one carer put it, 'the life and soul of Ashbourne'. Sadly, after one or two breaks of bones, bruises and falls, she was confined to bed and never got up again. She passed away 20th June 2026 with a lovely carer holding her hand as we didn't make it in time to do so!

Our concern was mum...
Our concern was mum didn't like to be moved up and down stair lift or even in the lift, so living upstairs was not meeting her needs. After a few requests mum was moved downstairs and seemed much happier. The care workers initially were ok, some excellent, some poor. Food is excellent. Communication between family and care home needs to be improved. Now that Karen has got things under control - good, caring staff and the home is not smelly and more homely, well done staff and Karen. Standard of care home still needs improving, e.g. rooms need upgrade and activities need to be improved.
Lost for words really. Was told before admission there was regular entertainment. Also told she would get help to improve her mobility. Was not referred to correct services, she desperately needed referring to SALT and dietician. The manager has no empathy whatsoever.

My sister was in the care home approx 6 months, she was 93 years old. The attendance was excellent and very personal. I would recommend. My sister passed away Jan 1st 2026.

My aunt has improved greatly since being there, and the staff are always busy, attending to the needs of residents. Nothing is too much bother for them, and they are always on hand to answer questions relating to my aunt. Best move my aunt made.
The care my dad received was excellent, from all the carers and staff. He was very well looked after and he was happy. They made him feel at home and he felt safe. We as a family were very happy, the carers and staff were very friendly and supportive.

Today I visited mum and she was in pain with her lower back the staff was excellent in giving her the dignity empathy and understanding she needed. A big thank you too the nurse for everything you do for mum you are very professional and easy to approach, and the two ladies for what you did...

The only improvement would be more daytime activities to keep her engaged, otherwise we couldn't ask for more.

The room he is in is clean and comfortable, the meals are nourishing and there are drinks available throughout the day. Overall, the home is spotlessly clean. I always get a warm welcome and I am able to ring the home when I can't visit. The management of the home is excellent. Overall, the care is great value for money.
Ashbourne Nursing Home has gone above and beyond to help not just my father but to support me as well. The staff and management have become a part of my family. I cannot thank them enough, they are always there to help. I know my dad is safe and well looked after at the home.
