Tudor Bank Nursing Home is a warm, welcoming and friendly home that provides outstanding nursing care to people living with dementia and younger people with mental health problems, situated in a lovely residential area of Southport, close to the town centre and the wonderful tourist attractions in the local area.

The home has two large lounge areas and dining areas as well as a garden room with patio doors into the dementia friendly garden where residents love to relax and spend time socialising with family and friends. The home also has a beauty salon where residents enjoy being pampered!

Most bedrooms have en-suite facilities and the team encourage residents to personalise their rooms to make them feel more homely.

The home has an extensive activities programme, whether it’s a stroll into town for a coffee, a trip to the Lakes, a personal one to one with the activities coordinator, a sing along, surfing the Internet or for the most adventurous a play on the Nintendo Wii, the friendly care workers are here to help you live life to the fullest.

My brother has been a resident at Tudor Bank Nursing Home for over 4 years. He has mental health, neurological and physical disability and is treated with the utmost dignity and an incredibly high standard of personalised care. Despite his speech difficulties, the staff consistently give him the support
and assistance he requires to communicate, to feel valued and to live a good quality life. There is always a lovely atmosphere in Tudor Bank Nursing Home. All the staff are really friendly, professional, hard-working, caring and compassionate. The food is beautiful, freshly cooked and of the highest quality with lots of support to residents who require assistance with feeding and with their drinks. As a nurse myself, it was important to find a nursing home that provided a high standard of care for my brother and I can truly say that Tudor Bank Nursing Home really does reflect the "outstanding" rating it receives from the CQC. I would absolutely recommend Tudor Bank Nursing Home as a very, very special Nursing Home.

My mother became a resident at Tudor Bank in June 2021. She had to be moved from another dementia nursing home that could not meet her needs. I live in another country which made looking for another care home difficult and stressful, however, the manager at Tudor Bank was so supportive, helpful, and
displayed a very positive and caring attitude in regard to the care they could offer. My mother was moved to Tudor Bank and when I was able to travel to see my mother, I was very pleased with the care she was receiving. My mother passed away in November 2021 at age 96. The carers that dealt with my mother at the end of her life were wonderful. I cannot thank them enough.

My mum has been a resident here for about 25 years (longer than most of the staff!) The fact she has been able to maintain her independence to a degree is a marvellous testament to the staff over the years. They don't take offence if you ask questions and are more than happy to provide detailed transparent
answers about any decisions they make with regards to my mums routine etc. Importantly, I know my mum is happy and settled because she would be quick to tell me if something was amiss! The care given is not just limited to my mum and they have helped my family and myself to better understand the situation. So many horror stories we see on the news about care homes but my years of vast experience with this care home mean I would recommend it to anyone looking for safe haven for their loved one.

My mum went to Tudor Bank from hospital in January after living with me for 35 years. It was very distressing for me and my mum and her quarantine was awful. The staff were lovely from the start and in the 6 months she's been there, they feel like family. I have to say that if I'd visited the home before
my mum went in, I probably wouldn't have been impressed as it is a bit tired looking decoration wise and the bedrooms need an update but I now realise that's not as important as the care received and the compassion of the staff. It does irritate me that even though all my mum's clothes are labelled, they still managed to get lost which seems to happen in most care homes. I now do her laundry at home but some has still gone missing. Sometimes the food isn't what I would have given my mum but in saying that, she's gained weight. Overall, I would recommend the home if asked.

My husband was a resident at Tudor Bank from December 2020 until April 9th 2021. During this time, despite being unable to visit, due to Covid restrictions, I formed a relationship of friendship and trust with each member of staff that I spoke with (or saw in person).
Although I was unable to see my
husband for much of his stay, I was kept well informed and felt reassured that he was settled and as happy as possible given the nature of his illness. I would like to thank everyone for all the care that my husband received, especially
at the end of his life, when I was privileged to be present.

A big thank you to the staff at Tudor Bank for the loving care and understanding you have given to your residents in your care over the last year; you have all gone above and beyond to look after them.
You have looked after us as well by keeping in touch with us and showing us just how much you care
for your residents family's as well.
Just the little extras you do for your residents when we ask you is always done, which means so much to us as we can not visit as we normally would.

My mother was a resident at Tudor Bank for a few years, of late there seemed to a high turnover of staff a lot of agency and understaffed. My mother died during the Coronavirus, we, her children were not allowed to visit. My sister had a call to say my mother was end of life, no explanation to say what
had happened when her demise started and 18 hours later she passed. I took the phone call in the early hours, the nurse on duty had a lovely manner and was very comforting. But there are still no offers of information or explanation. We know nothing of her last few weeks alive. Then to had insult to injury they sent a condolence card to my brother and sister, I as her eldest child, next of kin, completely ignored not even acknowledged. I can’t even begin to express the deep hurt I felt by this disrespectful act. My daughter, my mothers youngest grandchild rang the home to express her absolute disgust at such an evil thing to do. Damage is done I can’t recommend Tudor Bank after this.
