I really like the way the home makes every effort to make residents feel at home. I am able to bring my dog over to see my brother as he used to take him for a walk before he was ill. It brings him and other residents some comfort.

Berwick House Rest Home

from Annmarie K (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 20 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I can not recommend Berwick house enough. They cared for my grandmother for over 6years. She was part of their family as much as ours. From day one she flourished. They took care of her every need. She was nearly 101 when she went in their and only a few weeks away from her 108th birthday when she passed
away. As a family we know without the love and care she received she would not of lived aslong as she did.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Commercial Director at Berwick House Rest HomeThank you for sending a review for Berwick House which is so touching. To know that your grandmother reached such an amazing age surrounded by 'love and care' is reward for a team who ensure that all residents are safe, well and happy. All at the home will be overjoyed by your feedback. Kind regards

Broadway Nursing Home

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mum is in the latter stages of Alzheimer's and has been in Broadway over 10 years. My brother has learning difficulties and vascular dementia and has been in 3 and a half years.
The regular staff and management are friendly and caring, but sometimes understaffed and could do with more help.
My
brother could do with more help shaving and getting dressed.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
Reply from Davey Taverner, Marketing Manager at Broadway Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to review Broadway. Hollins Bank Care Home

Finally a care home that cares. My stepfather moved to Hollins bank early December. We have experienced three care homes over a period of time. I can confidently say he is happy there. All the staff are wonderful always working with a smile and knowing the residents and what they like. From the moment
I first walked in I was met with a warm welcome from reception. I was given a tour which and overwhelmed with what I saw . My stepfather arrived a little later. In the meantime all his room had been organised clothing hung in his wardrobe. The organisation was impressive. He is so settled has routine loves the food, has made new friends. The activities are varied and something for every one. The gardens are well kept. The whole of the home is spotless and all residents always look well turned out. What really stuck with me was the smiles and laughter coming from the communal area.
Hollins Bank thanks to you all.

The Dales Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We honestly cannot recommend this care home enough. The staff are absolutely wonderful - so kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. They love listening to my mum sing, which always makes her smile, and whenever we visit there's always time for a friendly chat and a cuppa. It really feels like a home,
not just a care setting.
Mum is always on the move, walking around the home, but the staff are constantly looking out for her and making sure she's safe while still letting her be herself. It gives us such peace of mind knowing how well they know her and how carefully they look after her.
During a recent situation when we had to call an ambulance for Mum, the paramedics had nothing but praise for the staff and even commented on how lovely the home is - which says so much. The home is always spotless and clean, but more importantly it's full of warmth, compassion, and kindness. We are so grateful for everything they do for Mum and for us as a family.
Reply from Davey Taverner, Marketing Manager at The Dales Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to review The Dales so highly. Mum, myself, and the rest of our family are so happy with the care, kindness, and support of my father. Dad has settled into the home so easily after a long stay in the hospital. We were worried about the type of home he would be allocated for the 28 day trial, and all I can say is... we're lucky we
got you. The management, caring staff, the cleaners and the rest of the team are absolutely brilliant, professional, and ready to be of assistance. Dad's happy and cared for!!

I live 300 miles away from Swansea Terrace were my dad is, and I don't get to see him as much as I'd like. I saw him 3 days running recently and was hugely impressed by the staff who care for him and the other residents. They were all so friendly and approachable and couldn't do enough for me. When
I asked for a few items, food, water, a mug, etc., there were no questions, and the response was immediate. Everyone I encountered was polite and professional, and I felt some comfort in saying goodbye to my dad.

I am very happy with the care that my dad receives in Byron Lodge. He has been there a few years now and has never been 'compliant'. But the staff have been caring and coaxing and never stopped trying with him. He finally joins in and socialises more. He has alzheimers and he's more like his old self
now, thanks to the care and persistence they have shown him.
I can't thank the staff enough.

My dad has been at The Dales since 28/07/25, and settled straight away, in this time I've experienced nothing but kindness, polite, care staff and manager always available whenever need to talk. I would recommend The Dales to any other family who have to make the hard decision to put a family member
into full time care. Keep up the excellent/high standard work.

On arriving at the nursing home feeling extremely distressed and unsure of what the future held I was greeted by the manager in a very positive and kind way. All staff have interacted and always have a kind and positive word. My husband's needs have all been met. The staff have gone above and beyond
the call of duty. Staff have even been known to stay back well past their finishing time. Because my husband's needs extra help. The residents I've come in contact with are happy to have interaction.
Overall, a very pleasant experience.
