My mother in law came to Berwick on discharge to assess arrangements. She has had two years of very ill health presenting with unintentional self neglect choices and we had tried care agencies, home care and moving her to warden led accommodation. The transformation in her has been wonderful to see, the worries have reduced and so have the hospital admissions. The manager has taken on an our suggestions and responded without delay and made changes to her bedroom so it is personal, warm and welcoming. The staff know her well and they really do care and show this without effort. No hesitation to recommend.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful feedback. We are pleased to hear about the positive transformation and the personal touches made to enhance comfort and warmth for our residents. Your kind words will be shared with the team as we continue to prioritise care, respect, and support for our residents' well-being.
Mum's home for the last 4 years was at Berwick House and the staff truly were her extended family. Sadly Mum has died due to her dementia but the care and love she received at Berwick was simply amazing and now gives us immense comfort. It is the hardest decision to make when your parent needs the care you can no longer provide but the love and care we as a family, not just Mum, experienced was exceptional and I thank everyone for that.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We are deeply sorry for your loss and are grateful for your kind words about the exceptional care and love your mum received. We strive to provide a trustworthy and supportive environment for our residents and will share your feedback with our team.
My Dad moved into Berwick House in early-April.

Your feedback reinforces our commitment to comfort, dignity, and respect for all our residents, and we will share your kind words with the team.
We live quite a distance from our relative, yet when we arrive we are welcomed and made to feel at home. It is clear that the staff know our relative well and that she is cared for in our absence. They even know how she takes her tea without asking, and these little things are reassuring. The manager is very helpful and understanding too.
Thank you very much for your kind comments and ratings for Berwick House, it is appreciated. The team work so hard to ensure that residents are safe, well and happy and it's good to know that you can see how much they care for the residents in the home. Kind regards
I can not recommend Berwick house enough. They cared for my grandmother for over 6years. She was part of their family as much as ours. From day one she flourished. They took care of her every need. She was nearly 101 when she went in their and only a few weeks away from her 108th birthday when she passed away. As a family we know without the love and care she received she would not of lived aslong as she did.
Thank you for sending a review for Berwick House which is so touching. To know that your grandmother reached such an amazing age surrounded by 'love and care' is reward for a team who ensure that all residents are safe, well and happy. All at the home will be overjoyed by your feedback. Kind regards
Mum been with Berwick for 3 years. Had excellent care over this time. I have full peace of mind that if she needs anything the staff will look after her. Any communication about Mum is given to me in good time and is very clear. Would recommend 100%.

My auntie has been a resident for the past 2 months,I find the staff very friendly and helpful but my biggest concern is I feel there is not enough of them for the residents and the level of care they need ,they are always helpful and they do there best under the circumstances, the manager is very approachable and easy to talk too and feel they are doing there very best to lift the standard of the home , the food is of a reasonable standard I feel more fresh fruit could be available, the rooms are adequate but for personal and dignity reasons i feel they all should be on suite.. the home is satisfactory clean could be of better standard , I feel the home is safely secure, as too value ... i would ask do you feel you are giving the level of care you would expect for your family members for the amount you charge for the service you provide ... i would suggest not...I feel a few small changes could make a big difference to the level of service and care you provid to you residents
Thank you for taking the time to review Berwick House. We appreciate your comments and can assure you your feedback will be taken into consideration as we are always looking for ways to improve our service. We can confirm that our staffing levels are calculated using a reliable Dependency...

My Mother initially came to the home to have some respite following a period of time in hospital. Since this period ended, we decided to make it a permanent placement, and this is down to how wonderful the staff are. Its hard to beat the care and support given at Berwick House. They are engaging and attentive to needs of the individual, which i have witnessed first hand with mum. i do think them for the support they give alone with the peace of mind knowing she is safe.

Recently we have had a changeover of management. The new manager has made it her goal to ensure all residents and their families are a priority. The manager has listened to any queries and has been prompt with her reply. My mum is happy at Berwick and the consistency of staff supports this.

I just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Berwick House Rest Home, always so friendly, thoughtful and caring and very accommodating when you visit. Every time I have been in contact for an update on my father, they have got back to me straightaway which is so appreciated as I live over 5 hours away. One member of staff, in particular, has been brilliant so a big thank you to all the staff.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Berwick House now for just over nine months and I cannot fault the staff in any way. Knowing that she is in a safe secure environment puts our minds at rest and we cannot thank them enough. All the staff go above and beyond to make sure all her needs are met plus keeping us as a family updated every step of the way. It doesn't matter what time of the day we visit we are always made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you for taking the time to review Berwick House so highly. we appreciate your feedback. Thank you.
Mum moved to Berwick House in May 2023. The staff and management were welcoming and friendly. They have always been welcoming and friendly throughout the time Mum is in Berwick House. They are always willing to discuss and update me on Mum's state and health changes, both good and bad. They also allow me to pop by and visit at any time, which allows me to visit when I have a bit of time with my tasks and travels. Berwick House, the management and staff provide a safe and secure environment for Mum, and this puts my mind at rest knowing Mum is being cared for.
Thank you for taking the time to rate Berwick House so highly. We are glad we can provide the high standard of care we strive for. Thank you.
Mum has been really happy at Berwick House. All the staff are very kind, welcoming and professional. It is a great comfort to know she is well cared for. The staff all engage with her really well and they are also happy to address any questions we may have as a family.

My mum has been a resident at Berwick house since September, she is a new person! So calm and relaxed and very settled. The staff from the manager to all the nurses and carers are very easy to communicate with (I enjoy talking to them all) and so helpful. I can relax now knowing that she is safe and cared for.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is wonderful to hear how calm and relaxed your mum is in the home and how well settled in. I will share your kind comments with the team.
My Mum has been on placement as a Resident at Berwick Care Home since September 2023. I feel like my Mum is supported with her emotions, as the staff are very caring towards her they give her cuddles and talk to her when she is upset and confused which is a great comfort to me. The staff also help her with dressing, bathing and her medication. She has settled well there, especially in her room which is very homely, comfortable and has a lovely view of the garden. The meals provided are wholesome, comfort food which my Mum always eats leaving nothing on her plate, she also loves the puddings, endless cups of tea, cordial and water supplied throughout the day. I have even been able to bring her cat in to see her which has brought her so much joy and happiness. My Mum also loves the activities, singing, colouring, walks to a nearby park and we have just been told about a trip around the Illuminations with Fish/Chips which I know she will thoroughly enjoy.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is wonderful to hear how well cared for your mum is in the home and how much she enjoys the wide range of activities both inside and outside the home. I will share your kind comments with all the team.
Absolutely dreadful place. The staff seem okay, manager is non-existent. The way residents are turned out is disgraceful and never usually in their own clothes. How anyone can be happy with the service provided is beyond me. Even CQC agree it needs improvement and not well-led. Really gone down the pan over the last 6 months, please look elsewhere.
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We welcome all reviews as they help us develop and improve our service. Firstly, we would like to offer our condolences to you on your loss. We were saddened to hear your comments about the home, particularly as your mum had enjoyed living in the...
