Byron Lodge Nursing Home is a modern purpose-built home offering a high standard of nursing and residential care in a luxury setting to elderly people in South Yorkshire. Residents can enjoy the comfort of large bedrooms with en-suite facilities, spacious lounges and dining areas.

The home accommodates up to 61 adults who need assistance with personal or nursing care, including those living with dementia. There is a team of highly trained and skilled staff who deliver high-quality care to all residents at Byron Lodge. Each resident’s individual needs are regularly assessed to ensure their care plans accommodate their lifestyle requirements and choices.

At Byron Lodge, the team want residents to live happy and fulfilled lives. By getting to know residents, the dedicated activity coordinators offer an extensive programme of activities and events, providing sensory stimulation through group activities and one to one sessions that meet their different passions and interests.

Mealtimes represent an important part of the day and a great social occasion. At Byron Lodge, they work to ensure this time is enjoyable as possible, unhurried and relaxed, with everyone being given plenty of time to eat and enjoy their meal while chatting and enjoying the company of friends.

The chef team use fresh ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible, to provide delicious, nutritionally balanced, seasonal meals.

I speak as I find and find the care, attention and courtesy given to my brother-in-law has been for me and continues to be amazing. The staff are so considerate and caring with us as visitors as well as residents. We go home happy and content just knowing he is well cared for and happy.

Could not fault the way dad was treated and looked after. The staff were always busy but managed to find the time to answer any questions we had. When dad took a turn for the worse, the standard of his care went up another gear and we were kept fully informed of any developments. Thank you for your

Staff are very professional, welcoming and very supportive to me and my family. We are confident my husband is well cared for when none of us are there with him. In spite of my husband's limitations, he is encouraged to take part in 1-1 activities. Any questions we have are addressed straightaway.

I visit my wife on a regular basis. Each time I am met with a smile and a greeting of how I am keeping. All the staff are very considerate and I know my wife is very well looked after. I go away with no worries about my wife's treatment.

My Mum is currently being cared for at Byron Lodge.
The staff here are very friendly and helpful towards their residents and guests.
A very caring attitude and I hope my Mum can be allowed to stay here after her discharge assessment from Hospital.
I feel like she will be very well looked after and
cared for in her twilight years.
Rooms are bright and airy and heated well.
Communal areas also very welcoming and guests are encouraged to socialise where suitable and possible.
And the whole environment feels upbeat with a focus on trying to make guests comfortable.
Management and admin have been very helpful too, with good communication and updates on my Mum.
I really feel at ease knowing my Mum is being cared for here.

My Dad was a resident of Byron Lodge from June 2024 to him passing away on 9th January. Having a loved one go in care is one of the hardest decisions to make but this was made so much easier by the fantastic care he received on Shakespeare unit.
The unit was always spotless clean and tidy. meals
were varied, homemade and Dad enjoyed them. We as a family visted most days and Dad was always clean, tidy shaved and comfortable.
The staff really do give best care possible. They are professional and competent without doubt but more importantly we always felt Dad was looked after with care, compassion good humour dignity and love. We also felt supported by staff as a family particularly in his final few weeks. Nothing was too much trouble.
We would not hesitate to recommend Byron Lodge
A real heartfelt thank you to all the staff involved in Dads care (particularly his favourites you know who you are!) You really are amazing and make such a difference.

Byron Lodge provided a caring, supportive home for my father during his final months. He was looked after by a team of dedicated staff who treated him with dignity and respect throughout his time there. Dad always enjoyed the meals he was served, particularly a good Sunday dinner. The staff were also
incredibly kind and understanding towards my mother, who has Alzheimer's, whenever we brought her to visit.
Our family would like to thank everyone at Byron Lodge for all that they did for Dad and the rest of the family.

My dad has been a resident now for ten months and we have seen quite a few changes but one thing has always remained the same and that is the staff, they are all fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and most importantly, they treat my dad like family. A fab new manager who's door is always open. The
home is kept very clean throughout.

My father-in-law and my brother were in the home and the staff from carers to cleaning staff, kitchen staff, office staff and laundry were fantastic. Nothing too much trouble for them, they really looked after both my family members even taking time out for a chat. Can't praise them enough for making
them feel cared for and treating them as if they were part of the family.

Following the decision that we had to place our mum in a nursing care home due to her illness. We were very glad that Byron Lodge Care Home was recommended to us.
My mum has only been there for several weeks but is really settling in well. She's joining in with the activities and games arranged by
the carers and looks forward the the meals.
All the staff (from the laundry to the management) are brilliant and seem to enjoy their jobs. They are helpful, caring and considerate to my mum and all the other residents. Nothing is too much trouble and they let us know how Mum's been between our visits.

My dad has only been in Byron Lodge Care Home a short while but has really settled in well after being moved from a previous care home, as soon as we walked through the door at Byron Lodge we were welcomed by really friendly staff with the warmest, genuine smiles. They were genuinely interested in knowing
all about Dad, his likes/dislikes etc. so individual needs/interests could be met. We visit on different days, times and Dad always looks clean and freshly shaven and his room is always spotless. The staff take time to listen to us if we have any questions, requests or just need advice or reassurance about anything, nothing is too much trouble no matter how busy they are. We can see Dad is happy, settled and thriving, we leave confident that he is well cared for. Thank you to all the amazing people at Byron Lodge for what you are doing.

Fantastic place. Looked after my father-in-law while we were away, would recommend. Spent just over two weeks in Byron Lodge and the help and care he received was great. Liked his food and once settled in, he was fine.

The care my husband receives is very good. I'm always kept up to date on his well-being. Not only do the staff take care of my husband, they also take care of me, always ready to answer my questions.
The carers are so thoughtful, they have a shoulder to cry on when I'm upset.

I booked my mum to stay for one week to see how she settled. I found the staff to be polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Mum said she enjoyed her holiday and would go back which was lovely to hear. Mum doesn't remember her stay now due to her dementia but she enjoyed herself at the time
which is all that matters. I am looking to book her again for regular respite. My mum likes company and the stimulation is good for her well-being.

My grandad spent a short time in Byron Lodge until he sadly passed away earlier this year.
He'd previously been in a care home that didn't meet our standards.
From the day we moved him to Byron Lodge, our hearts warmed. He was cared for to the very highest of standards. He was kept spotless and
clean. He was motivated with the daily care and activities, well fed and always supplied with hot and cold drinks. He was encouraged by staff to eat and drink. He struggled with his mobility and the team constantly monitored and made adaptations. His room and bedding was comfortable and kept clean. Food was lovely each day.
Every single staff member went above and beyond for him and us as a family. We always felt welcome, whatever time day or night.
Nothing at all was too much trouble.
It was a pleasure for him to be there.
It was comforting for us as a family that he spent his final months at such a gorgeous place.
We thank you!
