Alt Park Nursing Home specialises in providing care for young and elderly adults and also provide care for individuals with challenging behaviour.

Situated in Gilmoss, the home shows off two large gardens at the front and rear of the building surrounded by three established local parks which offer a unique rural setting.

The home is set on two floors and provides accommodation of 35 single rooms. There are three large open plan lounges leading to a south-facing conservatory, which offers both ample seating and a breath-taking view of the main garden area.

The home also accommodates 12 single bedrooms downstairs, all individually dressed to suit the unique needs of the residents. On the first floor, there are 23 single bedrooms, 5 of which have en-suite facility.

The three lounges are confined with their own identity and purpose - quiet lounge, main lounge and dining lounge. All lounges are equipped with flat screen tv's, radio & reading material.

The dining room lounge has direct access to the conservatory and kitchen allowing residents to request drinks and snack in-between regular meals offering both ample seating and a breath-taking view of the main garden area.

The conservatory also accommodates day-time activities with the support of the activity co-ordinator.

There are ample toilet facilities and bathing areas provided, within close proximity to all residents. Each bedroom will be designed with a different colour door and special features to ensure that residents living with dementia can relate to their own living space. Corridors are filled with memory lane photos, reading corners and other interesting features to help residents living with dementia to stay stimulated.

Sadly my brother in law was sent to Alt Park via hospital, this is not somewhere we would have chosen for him, i would advise anyone to find somewhere else where all the staff are properly trained and have at least some common sense. The place is not that clean and the meals are not sufficient the
portions are far too small, the care he was given was inconsistent, he was not monitored as he should have been which caused him a lot of distress and not toileted frequently enough , leaving him in soiled clothing for too long. There was very little respect for him or us as a family. Thankfully we were able to have him moved to a wonderful home where EVERYONE is treated with kindness and respect the food is plentiful and the care is exceptional. Up to now he has not had anymore falls or soaking clothing or treated with indifference. Give Alt Park a miss, there are much better places out there who actually care.

On arrival here dads dementia had progressed significantly and after a long stay in hospital he had lost his use of walking and used to wearing a catheter. Within a short time he was off catheter and totally mobile and putting on weight. Since he went in i always thought the staff were the no1 thing
I liked about home. They are on the ball with everything and compassionate thorough empathetic professional and skilled etc. I can't fault Alt Valley and if you want the best care for your loved one don't doubt this home. Dad passed away yesterday morning after a few days end of life care. Wow the staff last week were unbelievable. We were so looked after day and night the staff and nurses medical team district nurses etc. I was so scared and they couldn't have done any better. Day and night with us or a staff member outside. Even after dad passed and they changed and washed him dad looked so peaceful. We will be forever grateful to each and every one of you. Thank you so much xxx

We have had good experience at Alt Park for 2 and a half years. Their staff always listens to me about Mum's needs, it's a family-type nursing home (small/friendly).
I feel Mum is safe and settled there, especially when she is unwell. The nurses, senior carers, cooks, laundry, and cleaners have always

Their staff are well-trained and they give me all the respect I deserve.

My experience with Alt Park has been very good. Staff care about the residents and do an excellent job. My brother-in-law can be difficult but they manage to get him involved in events and make him comfortable.
The nursing staff are managing his pain from an old injury, which is helping his mobility.
Sometimes he isn't keen on the food served to him, but he is provided with an alternative when this happens. Even though he is reluctant staff manage to persuade him to have a shave, which is brilliant and much appreciated. His clothing is washed and returned quickly so he is never short of something to wear.

My father-in-law has been a resident at Alt Park for 18 months. During this time there have been several managers, there appeared to be little leadership and the home faced many challenges, which were noticeable as a visitor. There is another manager in situ now and it is clear to see how well the home
is running. There are many new staff, with just the occasional agency. As a family member I am keen to see the home progress further and I am sure with the new manager Alt Park will flourish.

My Father was only at Alt Park Nursing Home for 1 week and sustained a broken left wrist lacerations and bruising on his left arm which the home cannot explain despite my Dad having 1 to 1 care. My Dad went to Aintree Hospital and there is an open Local Authority Safeguarding enquiry about this. There
is also a Police investigation.

My wife has been in Alt Park now for three years, her arm was broken in the last home she resided in and she spent 5 weeks in hospital and came from the hospital to Alt Park. I felt the love and the empathy the moment I stepped into the home and knew in an instant that this was the home for my wife.
It was a different set up to the other care homes she had been in, residents were sitting together eating their meals and it felt to me like they were all family, and I instantly thought that this can now be part of her family and everything came to fruition. I have never looked back and have noticed the calm in my wife it has made me feel at ease. The staff are nice and polite and the management run a clean and tidy ship. I would highly recommend Alt Park to my family and friends, they have worked extremely hard over the last 2 years with COVID and kept all our loved ones safe. Well done Alt Park and a big thank you.

Alt Park staff went above and beyond making my mother-in-law extremely comfortable in her last 12 months. They took over care after she was moved from another care home, on arrival they discovered bedsores that hadn't been treated and got them seen to straight away. My mother-in-law had been in extreme
pain and the old home hadn't noticed, Alt Park realised straight away and helped. Obviously, with lockdown, we hadn't been in to seen her but Alt Park was brilliant and arranged for visits safely when possible. On her birthday they went out the way to spoil her for us and again arranged a short safe visit. Sadly my mother-in-law passed away at the beginning of this month but we wanted to thank all staff for the care and compassion throughout the 12 months she was with you, it's just a shame we didn't get to meet you properly. Jewin Vellara Edwin is the Manager of Alt Park with many years of care experience. Jewin is very experienced in the care home sector and is committed to providing a high–quality service. He has a passion for supporting those with dementia and mental health needs and is a hands-on manager who often spends time working alongside staff with residents.


Jewin is ultimately responsible for the effective and professional running of the care home but will allocate time to discuss any aspect of our Residents care or any problems they may be experiencing.
