My family-and most importantly my mum-are very happy with Brandon House (BH). Although she has only been there a month, she already feels so settled it seems much longer. Mum moved there as she is unable to live independently and is living with terminal cancer. From day one she has been cared for with
dignity, kindness, and compassion, and we feel complete confidence in her care. Her room is bright and comfortable, with her own possessions making it feel like home. She can enjoy her hobbies in her own space and, with support using a hoist and wheelchair, can also join others in the communal areas, garden, and social spaces when we visit. BH is clean, modern, smells nice, and we've been advised of exciting future plans. Mum praises the food and has regained weight after losing much during a hospital stay, which is reassuring. Every staff member has been friendly, attentive, and supportive-we are grateful for the kindness shown to both Mum and our family.

I came to visit my brother for the first time at Brandon House on 27.8.25 with my sister. I can happily say every single member of staff we met were friendly, helpful & welcoming. My brother seemed very well cared for and happy. There was a really homely feel to the place & everywhere was very clean
& tidy. His room seemed very adequate & comfortable & I left feeling he was in a good place.

My brother has been very lucky to now be under the care of Brandon House. Although noone knows BSL they have all gone out of their way to communicate successfully with him (he is profoundly deaf). Every member of staff, without exception, is kind, helpful & always making time to help us. My brother
loves his food & seems very happy with Brandon House's meals!

It is a daunting task looking for a care home for a loved one. I can honestly say that everyone that I have met has been wonderful/welcoming people. The manager explained everything involved in the transition from hospital for my mother. Care staff have treated my mother with dignity and respect. There
are works ongoing to redecorate certain areas. The environment is very clean and welcoming. Food is cooked on site and very nice. Even though my mother's appetite is small every effort is made to encourage her to eat. A huge relief to find a homely setting with a helpful manager and great carers

My dad resided at Headley House from January 2024 to April 2025 following my dad's passing. Whilst here, my dad received very good care from all staff members. They couldn't do enough and if I had to ask for something to be done differently-this happened very quickly after speaking to the senior on
shift. My dad's incontinence pads were changed regularly and his personal care was of the highest standard. His washing came back in a timely manner as well and they have a good laundry system that is managed well provided you label all your loved ones clothing. Four members of the staff team attended my dad's funeral recently and I am not sure whether staff came in or out of works time, but that deserves a thank you in itself. I would recommend this care home 100%

I am the wife of a resident. He has been at Brandon House since 24/3/25. I have been very happy with the care that my husband is getting here. I had my doubts before he went in but I am very happy with the home the staff are very caring not just for my husband but to me also. My husband likes his good
and is always telling me how he enjoyed his meals. The new manager is always happy to talk to you and seems to be making a good job thank you for accepting my husband into the home.

I was looking for respite for my mum. The home isn't huge, but I actually liked that. Upon visiting to look around, it had a warm friendly atmosphere and the residents appeared to be happy. I noticed that none of the residents seemed to be left alone, unless in their rooms.
Attention to detail from
the manager with regards to mum's needs was brilliant and any concerns I had were put to rest.
The decor is a little dated, and not like the super modern, newer homes we've used in the past. However, it was clean and the room mum was allocated, had a lovely view of the garden.
All the staff were lovely and I was very happy and will be booking again in the future.

Your opening photo of the home shows a line of conifers running down the side of the drive which was removed four years ago to comply with a CQC request at the preceding review. The reason that the CQC asked for this was to improve the view from the resident's windows. The home has just constructed
a solid timber fence to the same line and more as the conifer hedge and the same height as the conifer hedge. The visual impact for visitors and residents who live in rooms overlooking this fence is obvious. massively worse than when the hedge was there. The bin store area of the rear car park used to be tidy, however, there are additional bins and a skip outside the bin enclosure. The visual impact for residents whose rooms overlook this area is obvious. Poor.

Mum has been in Ryecroft House for just two weeks. We're so thankful that the activities organiser made it possible for us to livestream my brother's wedding into Mum's room which we really appreciated. Also today, she has given Mum a CD player and some appropriate CDs. Mum is very frail and fragile
and they are building up a good picture of her abilities and needs.

Staff are very hard working and very caring but clearly not enough of them and feel as though my mum did not get the Dementia support which is claimed for by the home on the website and feel very let down by communication, security, medication management.
As a nursing home, I would recommend it but
for someone with needs support there needs to be some scrutiny of what the home is claiming against reality and I only hope my report to the Care Quality Commission enforces some changes. Communication is a real letdown. I would not recommend Brandon.

Avoid at all costs. Spent less than 30 minutes at the place. Refused to let my mum remain there. It was horrid, like something from the 1970s. No care, no compassion, it was dirty, it stank. It was like going back to bedlam days, absolutely horrified with the place, staff all on their phones, more concerned
regarding texting people than providing care for vulnerable people, my mum. Didn’t even have a mattress on her bed when we arrived. No curtains up, not even a chair in her room. Oh, and another bed frame was dumped there. Disgusted with the whole place. I should have known when I pulled up in the car park, a dump, gardens overgrown and full of rubbish. Once again please avoid at all costs.
